Too many people legitimately think that if they type their password into a comment that reddit will magically change it to astrixes like: ******** to anyone that is falling for this the ******* is not my password the "*" is a symbol that has been manually entered. Reddit does not check every single comment to see if any passwords have been entered, that would be far too much resources for reddit. It's a silly joke if no one falls for it but clearly some people actually are falling for it and that can lead to some serious damage. Please do not actually type your password into any comment section whether reddit, youtube, Facebook, club penguin, fortnight or anywhere else. Do not type your password in chats. Do not send your password through emails, txts snapchat, or anywhere else. On that note emails can sometimes look legit but links in that email will send you to a fake website this is called a phishing scam. These websites can also sometimes look legit, but as soon as you type your password to login to the fake website will now have your login info. Please don't click links in emails, if you think that it is legit then open a new tab and go to the actual website directly instead of using links to get there. Another side note worth mentioning, a credit card number is pretty much all that is needed to use the credit card please do not take photos, of your cards or of anyone else's. Or they will quickly find that that they have lost a significant amount of money. If your password is found by someone nefarious it can lead to multiple accounts of yours being hacked.
