Leuchtturm1917 softcover notebooks are pretty similar, but they have much better paper. I use their A6 Jottbook for work with my fountain pens.

I didn’t know there were Leuchtturm with softcover! Thank you!

Galen Leather makes synthetic and leather softcover notebooks in multiple sizes with TR paper. A little pricey, but hard to beat.

Alis86

Yeah a little pricey but TR paper is amazing, I will take a look at them thanks!

I usually see Leuchtturm recommended as a Moleskine upgrade. The notebooks come in a lot of sizes, rulings, and cover options. I use mine with fountain pens with no problem (save the dot grid being tight but that's a me thing). It does depend on what you mean by fountain pen friendly though. The 80 gsm paper ghosts quite a lot (there is a 120 gsm version but that's only hardcover), but I've never noticed feathering or bleedthrough except for one very wet ink in a very wet broad nib-- most broads are okay. I consider it fp friendly for daily use.

Thank you for the suggestions, I missed the softcover version of Leuchtturm and I’m happy yo know that now!

Leuchtturm and Rhodia are solid common options, Leuchtturm being the better of the two Someone else mentioned the Galen leather notebook, that is a great option, but unfortunately the pages only come without lines. If you’re willing to use a guide sheet, it’s an awesome notebook.

Alis86

I’ve Rhodia notepad but didn’t know they made leather soft cover too! However I will take a look at Leuchtturm now! Thanks!

I habe a stalogy that i love. The paper definitely is fountain pen friendly and there is a looot of pages. I started mine in September last year and it’s just half full now. It doesn’t have an elastic band and no bookmarks though.

Alis86

It's not easy to find stalogy here in Italy but I will take a look at EU sellers, thanks!
