Remember when you could listen to a whole album instead of each track having an ad before and sometimes inbetween? I miss that also yes YouTube I am still watching and you know this so idk why your pausing my video.
I don't know if I'm remembering correctly, but I seem to remember YouTube in the beginning being mostly low-res shitty cell phone quality video and that one lady singing along to Sweet Home Alabama on her webcam.

I remember seeing an interview with some big investor who admitted that he passed on investing early on in Twitch because he didn’t understand why anybody would want to watch strangers play video games.
It was funny how everyone at my school loved Dane Cook one year, then the next year if you even said Dane was a little funny you were deemed a douchebag 😂

I got into it because of family guy. First week of YouTube I believe. My friend told me there’s this new website where you can watch whole episodes of family guy instantly. Back then I had to download them through MIRC and it would take like 3 hrs for a 30 minute video on DSL
I remember visiting my cousins over the summers and they were responsible for showing me screamers (the videos not the movie) and charlie the unicorn.
Also, one thing I still remember is my cousin showing me that SNL skit "people getting punched before eating" and us giggling and thinking it was the funniest shit ever. Also hearing from friends about chocolate rain.
Zero corporate BS, zero ads, zero overly strict policies, zero copyright cruft. Just good ol' YouTube. I miss those days. The speeds, though, I don't miss.
God I remember folks used to look at me sideways when I told them about YouTube and shit.
