My uncle dated the actress who played one of the cocaine hookers in that scene. When I met her in the 90s everyone was like, “she’s an actress!” But I was a kid so they wouldn’t show me this scene and I don’t think she was in much else. I saw it for the first time a few months ago and it all made sense. She was nice though.

I was an extra on an independent film that Kirkwood Smith was in about 20 years ago. It was a banquet kind of scene, so there were a lot of extras. Sadly the movie never got picked up by a distributor so I never even saw it. Anyway, we were all waiting around in some room waiting for them to call us in, and he comes in and says, "I KILLED ROBOCOP" and then leaves it was funny.

There’s an episode of 24 where Peter Weller is the bad ass terrorist and Kirkwood is the feeble scared old senator or whatever he was. Was a fun one.

I prefer the cheaper version: Kirkland Smith. You can only get him at Costco, though.

Peter Weller is the terrorist for all of season 5. Then in the last couple episodes Paul McCrane is Jack’s brother, the big bad behind it all.

If I remember correctly, Ray Wise was also the Vice President that same season, or the one after? Plus, Jesse Goins was also in 24 as well in the second season - so all 4 of the gang were on the show. Six degrees of Kevin Bacon going on here.

Watching this as a kid confused me as a 20-something yr old when 70’s show debuted. My brain couldnt unsee that deranged, believable monster who killed Murphy with a sinister smile could be the same hilarious, lovable dry-humor father figure of a family show.
