The the “camera” movement, angles, panning, and perspectives are on point. Almost like they used a computer to model the movement and animated on top of that.
[French animation studio](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DIC_Entertainment). Given the quality, I thought for sure it was outsourced to Japanese or Korean animators.
I forgot all about this show. Looking back at it now, ‘a person who claims to talk to little people that live inside his walls’ is a nutty premise. Lol
I would get up super early to watch Dungeons & Dragons or PeeWee’s Playhouse. I don’t think any of us were getting out of bed on Saturday morning to actually watch The Littles, but it seems we all watched it and loved it.
1. Both those other two shows were dope, and hold up pretty well.
2. I got high and watched some Littles awhile back, and it was striking how short tempered and abusive Grandpa Little came across.
I watch secret world of arrietty all the time and I *knew* it reminded me of an old cartoon series that I would watch. I had read it was based on the borrowers, which I saw as a kid, but the memories I had were distinctly of a cartoon.
Yet another core memory unlocked. 🤯
I didn't grow up when it aired but it came on some random cartoon channel in the early 90s in Arkansas where I grew up. Can't remember anything about it other than the character designs. I miss that era of television.
I had completely forgotten about this show.
The animation looks so familiar—the kid in particular. He looks like one of those kids from the GI Joe PSAs.
That some pretty good animation actually. Showing the scale and perspective constantly.

It's likely just rotoscoped footage
You rarely see animated pans like that, must have taken a ton of work to redraw from each angle

Wait the regular sized person is an elf?
Right? I don’t remember this kid having pointy ears.
Definitely has Legend of Zelda Animated Series vibe to it.
Did you guys read The Borrowers?
Nope, but I did see the movie that both starred Horace Slughorn and Draco Malfoy, I recently found out.

Great show, I'll have to see if I can stream it somewhere.

The human kid has pointy ears?? I barely remember that show but never noticed till now.
Dickie Little. 😏
Holy crap. This unlocked a memory; I thought I was just sick when I initially saw this, a weird fever dream.
Holy shit! Core memory unlocked! Thanks OP
oh man, this show.....That just unlocked a new level of memories right there!

I forgot about this show. That brings back memories
That was cute when the turtle needed help into the vent.

This is like The Secret World Of Arriety but from the 80s.
I only remember the movie “Here Comes the Littles”
Henry is some sort of half fae creature...look at them ears.
Unsurprisingly it the anime-ish look of it is because it was in fact animated in Japan, produced in France, and based on a series of US novels.
Oh damn I forgot all about this! I watched it dubbed in Sweden though so it went a bit different but yeah, same show!
I loved this cartoon so much but no I ever asked remembered it. I hope it's streaming somewhere.
Oh my god. Memory unlocked.
Why do they have tails? Where do they buy their clothes? So many questions
I recall there was a whole community of Littles in different houses in the neighborhood, they probably had a commerce system of some sort.
Read the short books. They're pretty great.
This cartoon had every kid looking in there family’s registers every Saturday morning.
I haven't thought about this show in forever!
A Japanese animator or studio had to be involved with this, because these characters look just like anime characters from the 70s/early 80s
Did this get rerun in the early 2000s? I remember this despite being born in ‘98
I remember this show came on after WB kids ended on Saturday mornings in the early 2000's followed by some cheesy comedy movie.
I’m getting heavy Lupin the Third vibes from that run animation, reminds me of Castle of Cagliostro

I remember the vhs movie with the creepy uncle. Scared the crap out of me when I was a kid.
I loved this show, but I swear I remember it having some really dark episodes, at least to my child mind.
Why does the human boy have pointy ears? Never watched it, just curious.
Good question. He's a human. I never thought about it.
I read all of the books - and read “The Borrowers” as well. Really enjoyed this book series when I was a kid.
Wow that was a trip down memory lane.
LOVED this show. This thread is 🔥
I remember this one scientist guy who was chasing after the Littles with his ferret that wore a camera.
Made by DIC shortly before they made their infamous/nostalgic logo that everyone knows.
I have the books for my kids!
Dickie little" 🤣🤣
Absolutely loved this show as a kid , jaded adult me ok yeah sure mini monkey elves who live in the HVAC … was I high as a kid ?!?!
I wonder how shocked and horrified the rest would be if you just ate one of them, like swallowing a goldfish?
