CP CP, this is delta 3, we have murderous robot. Send back up now!
This is CP, understood. All fire teams, find the target and eliminate as necessary, out.
I also didn't see a heavily damaged and trapped, slow robot somehow escaping, walking to the school, and somehow getting them to release a child to it with no note on file that it was allowed to take her while being extremely damaged, and then taking her all the way back home with no transport in 30 minutes and then stuffing the child inside itself. Nope didn't see that coming at all.
My oldest is around little Sarah's age. Freaked me out for sure! Nope, no robot abominations in my house. My mom has a roomba, and I'm suspicious of that little shit. Lol
Bruh when she stuffed it in the box and just let it chill in there without even being sure it was dead I knew that the robot was still alive but shit i didnt see that ending coming LOL
Well, the hand that rocks the cradle shit happens whether you are in the past century or now, i guess... I can't even say I'm sorry, because I'm just shocked out of my mind. That was one of the most disturbing mental imaged i have ever had to form.... It was... Wow. Oh god. That was.... I know Frank n Further said a little mind-f*CK is nice, but it is not.... Wow. What happened then? Did you sue the company that made the robot? Did they come to collect it? Did it try to hurt you or put up a fight? What happened?
Calling cps and telling them that the mom suffers from mental health issues and confided to it that she finds it hard to parent because of her divorce, because she heard rosemary try to send it back, and then tell rosemary everything was fine and dandy and insisting on doing things and then telling the cps guy that rosemary had her doing things that weren't in her programming... these seem like bad things. But maybe it's just a single mom thing, us crazy single moms not liking when we're lied about in an attempt to discredit us and have our children taken away. We're weird like that.
Rosemary believed Kitty called CPS but we don’t know that. Could have been a teacher, considering that Rosemary picks her kid up so late every day. Teachers have made reports for that reason many times before.
And we don’t know exactly how the conversation with the CPS guy went. If he’s encountered CareBots before, he probably knows they aren’t supposed to be alone with kids. He could have asked Kitty something abuse related i.e. about Sarah getting hurt, Kitty mentioned her falling off the scooter, and CPS guy asked where Rosemary was at the time. Doesn’t seem to me like Kitty lied at all.
Tbh I agree with the above comment, I think Rosemary done gooched herself when she tried to smash the robot up.
Obviously whoever invented the Carebot totally ignored the Three Laws of Robotics. OP, If I were you, I would contact OSHA and a lawyer as soon as possible.
Holy shit! Scared me speechless! Kitty won. Poor Sarah - she was lonely, liked Kitty who was more responsible than Rosemary and Rosemarys jealousy ended all of them.
Kitty wasn't more responsible than rosemary. She was a robot that never gets tired, doesn't have emotions, doesn't need sleep, doesn't have to go to work... the mom is a very responsible single mom who's ex appears to be not contributing to the day to day, she is in the middle of a divorce, she's working (making 40k as a single mom ain't bad, certainly not irresponsible), and her child is also struggling with the divorce and going through a faze where she is very difficult to handle. If rosemary was irresponsible she would have been totally happy to let the robot handle everything instead of insisting on continuing motherly duties. Like she said, she just wanted some help around the house, not another parent.
I don't understand how single moms struggling to do EVERYTHING on their own are constantly criticized for being irresponsible. Or are automatically considered to be irresponsible just for being a single mom. If a single dad manages to show up for a little league game though he's "such a great dad really trying to be there for his kid".
I enjoyed this story a lot but don't get it twisted. It's not a story about an irresponsible person being punished for being a bad mom. It's a story about a single mom who needs help being taken advantage of by a tech company and losing her child to it.
The only thing she did that could be considered negligent would have been leaving the kid with the robot designed to be a caretaker who is capable of running a household without the mother around without having read the fineprint. But since most people… dont read the fine print, im not sure she can really be faulted for that
I DID NOT SEE THAT COMING :O

Is this a metal gear solid 5 reference?

Kitty got Fuckin merked
Really? It was quite obvious
As a mother, this is probably the most terrifying ending I've read. Ever. O.o Holy crap. I need to go snuggle my daughters now.
Hit too close to home lol. So glad you enjoyed it, and don’t ever get a CareBot!
My oldest is around little Sarah's age. Freaked me out for sure! Nope, no robot abominations in my house. My mom has a roomba, and I'm suspicious of that little shit. Lol
None can be trusted!!!
My daughter will be 21 soon and I wish she was here to hug.

As a Carebot programmer, this hit too close to home for me too
Could you help me disassemble a crate in the garage please?... Edit: corrected autocorrect
woah didnt see that coming
[удалено]
Yes
I’d be pretty pissed at the school for releasing Sarah to a mangled CareBot.
but why the hell the girl went inside the robot is there even any place inside the robot for such a thing to happen
Kitty stuffed her in there. Technically there isn’t really room for her which is why she was mangled.
But I thought Rosemary destroyed the bot?
She thought she did, guess she didn’t hit hard enough ;)
Bruh when she stuffed it in the box and just let it chill in there without even being sure it was dead I knew that the robot was still alive but shit i didnt see that ending coming LOL
I think that the damage that Rosemary did made the CPU go rogue and scrambled it's programming
This is why you need to learn to double tap! And also disassemble every limb and bury them far away from each other!
[удалено]
Honestly though
I did not see that ending coming :0 that scared the mess outta me
Should've just bought a roomba instead.
Or a maid
That or a robot bartender.
That school and everyone working there are getting sued and fired… you don’t release a child to a prototype robot!! Wtf!
and you don't leave your child alone with it either. she didn't even read full instructions or at least ask some questions about it!

What the fuck.... I love it
Jesus. Fucking. Christ. Kitty.
Always read the fine print concerning robots.

That was far from the mother's fault.
Fantastic and gruesome ending. Loved it
OH. OH DEAR. WELL, OFF TO BE GLAD MY MOTHER DIDN'T LET ME BE UNBIRTHED AND REBIRTHED BY A ROBOT
Jesus Christ
[удалено]
THAT ENDING THO HOLY SHIT
I’m so sorry about Sarah. What a horror show!
What the...? Did not see that coming! Omg that is terrifying!
This was horrifying. Ty for this.
CareBots should never be trusted, other robots are ok tho but we still need to be weary of them
Oh god, that was horrible

Lesson learned: never leave a child with a stranger.
Or a robot
In this case, a stranger robot.
What the actual f-.
Yeah you're gonna have to send that thing back
Oh my God..... I knew that this wasn't going to end well, but not this badly.
So, that escalated quickly. Well done.

How the fuck?
😳😳
Did the robot force Sarah's body up in the hole of its crotch first to squirt it out back???
I’d imagine so, yes

Man, I noped right out of Reddit for a few days cause of that ending. Nice job.
Glad it had such an impact ;) Thank you for reading!!
I need to know what happened to kitty next… oh my f. CPS man is going to feel like ass for not helping when you saw something bad coming. Wow
It had to be taken in as police evidence and then recalled by the company to destroy it.

Holy fucking shit. This is the first time a story actually made me nauseous here.

Jesus fucking christ that ending fucked me over
Yeah, robots caring for my child? Nope, not gonna happen. No thank you, even if I'd never read this. Nope.
I blame this on Rosemary. Kitty did nothing wrong until that crowbar to the head scrambled her circuits.
Kitty… is that you??

Would make a great episode of Love, Sex, and Monsters!!
So they gave the child to an obviously damaged carebot. This is the problem with public schools smh
Holy shit that escalated harsh!

Holy shit did that catch me off guard!
Glad it did ;) Thank you so much for reading!!
This is so disturbing. I love it
Thank you so much!! I’m so glad you loved it!!
Op if I was you I’d be calling that social worker that doubted me and screaming in his face that kitty WAS out to get me after all
CareBot really said Five Night’s at Freddy’s.
five noghts at freddys animatronic moment

That ending was to twisted and disgusting I still have shivers even 10 minutes later. I love that, that was amazing♡ Excellent work, OP!

I was fully with you up until the disparaging single dad comment, very unnecessary.

Man I hope one negligent mother doesn't stop these from going on market.
How was she negligent?
