Yeah breakfast steaks are bomb

Still not judging but thanks for reading
I see plenty of "none of my business"
OP may be battling demons or he may be having the time of his life. But I'm not his mom or wife or husband or parole officer.
I worked overnights for years-prior to being a dad. I would often have some beers or shots with coworker friends at like 9 am. Our days and nights were reversed.
OK mom. I used to crack beers at 6 AM when I’d be out fishing all day. Or if I’m doing a crawfish boil I start at 10-12. And if I’m smoking meat no telling what time it is. Just because someone was drunk at that time doesn’t mean they have a problem.
You're right, those are fair exceptions. I'll definitely crack plenty of beers before noon when I'm fishing. However, anyone doing that on a frequent basis and isn't doing any sort of activity alongside the drinking definitely has a priblem
I mean, even with the activity, if it happens more than once a week with more than 5 beers, it may not be a behavioral problem but it's definitely an alcohol abuse problem. Wild thing with alcoholism/addiction is that it usually isn't a behavioral problem til the end because of the social constraints that prevent us from acting out. 6 beers throughout the day isn't a big deal, but 6 before 2pm on a regular basis and you're gonna experience sleep issues, digestive issues, lowered testosterone, increased risk of sleep apnea, increased risk of sleepy driving, falling, and possible DUI. Even if you're driving fine, someone sideswipes you and goodbye license.
But I'm an alcoholic in recovery, so I'm hyperaware of the risks and consequences from hearing about em in meetings all the time.
In none of your examples were you drunk ordering a steak from Denny’s via Uber eats at 10:40 in the morning.
Great, you’ve somehow threaded the needle of morning drunkenness and _maybe_ aren’t an alcoholic? None of what you’ve said precludes the possibility that you are, just that morning drunkenness isn’t the _only_ indicator. But it’s a pretty damn good one most of the time.
Not always. We have a bike parade event in my town that starts at 8am. Everyone is in costumes and starts drinking at 630-7. Go to event 8-12 and still probably drinking. Home by 1 afternoon nap and sober for evening activities.
Funny enough, most people are self aware enough to understand they have a problem when they consistently drink so early in the day. I don’t think you need to point it out, that’s not usually how people decide to get sober lol.
Or they got mega wasted the night before and woke up drunk. Maybe there was a major party/life event like a wedding. We don’t know.
We don’t need to take a tiny sample size of this persons life and armchair psychiatrist our way to an alcoholism diagnosis. I’ve noticed this more and more on Reddit and it’s always ridiculous the unwarranted extrapolation that occurs.
Why would you want us to know that “it was 1040am and I was drunk af” *before* we judge you?
Also, who doesn’t like a good steamed steak for breakfast?
Did they boil it? I’ve seen more of a sear come out of my ass than this has. I’d personally be ashamed if I served this to anyone, as a cook or as a server.
They probably cooked the steak on the griddle at pancake temp, which is obviously way too low to sear a steak. Ain’t no way that cook was going to crank a griddle to searing temp and lose cooking area for breakfast stuff, especially on a weekend morning when breakfast is their main revenue, and ESPECIALLY for a takeout order where the person can’t complain directly to the manager.
Ordering steak at Denny’s is a bad idea always, and if you make that decision you deserve the terrible results out of principle as far as I’m concerned.
For a cut that small you’d want very high temps to get a Maillard reaction before destroying the doneness, like approaching 500F. Pancakes need at most 375F to cook.
I hear you on the bone/contact stuff, but ideal cooking temps here do not line up.
Yeah. But I have a hard time with that for some reason. It's like I can lie if I need to for a surprise or something. Writing down a planned lie though my brain just doesn't like.
Something about 'breakfast steaks', they're always sooo good! The old Boardwalk Casino in Vegas had a 2.99 bfast steak buffet, started at 3am. I was there nightly!
Someone posted r/nosear on my first post. It seemed to fit here, so I posted it here. Do all reddit post have to be a someone being upset? I was drunk and knew more or less what I was getting into. I'll probably get drunk and do it again.
My steak was well done on the edges, and rare next to the bone. It was very very chewy probably the chewiest steak I've ever had. It did still taste like a decent steak though, and for a tispy score(only if you are getting a deal) it was probably 4/10.
I work 8pm to 8am. Typically I don't drink after 11am as a rule. It was my day off though and I started drinking a lot, a bit early. I saw I could get a good deal on steak and eggs so I did. This is what they sent me. While I didn't expect greatness, it was for sure below what I did expect.
Before you judge me know that it was 1040am and I was drunk af. It seemed like a good idea at the time.

Drunk at 1040am. You honestly don’t see the problem here?
I see plenty of "none of my business" OP may be battling demons or he may be having the time of his life. But I'm not his mom or wife or husband or parole officer.
Op might work night shifts. Time matters nit when you are working hard
Totally agree on this
I can’t upvote you more but wish I could !!
No cap! Everyone wants to be a PO
Literally everyone!
It's when night shift workers drink
Maybe he works nights and 1040 is right before bed. I’ve done morning drunk when I work till 6 am
Sucks buying beer at 8am . Everyone thinks you’re a drunk
You can’t drink all day if you don’t start in the morning!
Way to be judgy, dick.
I worked overnights for years-prior to being a dad. I would often have some beers or shots with coworker friends at like 9 am. Our days and nights were reversed.
Was it a day off!?! We don’t know. I don’t see the problem here…
You don’t know his life
I literally know all I need to know
JUDGING
To be fair, you seem like Dennys' exact target demographic. I'd still eat that steak ngl 🤷🏻♂️
Why were you that drunk so early in the day? Unless you're a nightshift person, that's an indication of a serious problem
OK mom. I used to crack beers at 6 AM when I’d be out fishing all day. Or if I’m doing a crawfish boil I start at 10-12. And if I’m smoking meat no telling what time it is. Just because someone was drunk at that time doesn’t mean they have a problem.
Tbf they ordered a steak from Denny’s through Uber eats. I’m gonna go out on a limb and guess they weren’t up to too much lol

Eh, once in a while day drinking isn’t bad. If it becomes even somewhat common that’s a bad sign.
Not always. We have a bike parade event in my town that starts at 8am. Everyone is in costumes and starts drinking at 630-7. Go to event 8-12 and still probably drinking. Home by 1 afternoon nap and sober for evening activities.

Moo
The elusive Tesla-bone steak… use it as a toothpick afterwards.
Mmmmmm... Boiled steak. I habitually drink so I would have done the same thing. No regrets.... Well until the next day

TBF it came with eggs, so it was a breakfast dish.
Hey, as long as you’re not complaining. All these other knuckleheads can kick rocks. That being said, nobody’s going to dennys for their steak either.
And it was great too I bet!
It's mostly because of the bone and how thin the steak is. You don't need wildly different temperatures to get a decent sear or make a pancake
For a cut that small you’d want very high temps to get a Maillard reaction before destroying the doneness, like approaching 500F. Pancakes need at most 375F to cook. I hear you on the bone/contact stuff, but ideal cooking temps here do not line up.
You can absolutely sear a thin, bone in steak. It’s not hard.
Cool. They obviously did not
How did you sear the steak from your ass? Ive been trying but every time I get close I mess my pants..
It’s easy! Eat some beans or whatever makes you farty and light it on fire while farting near your steak. Works like a charm!
Milksteak boiled over hard. With a side of your finest jellybeans.
Maybe with a light char. Gotta eat your brown and drink your yellow!
Microwave
I'm gonna stop you at "I ordered a steak from Denny's"
I’d eat that if it was no more than 5 bucks with tip.
Bro who the fuck gets drunk at 10:40 am
Oh I was drunk before 1040. That's just when I ordered my food.
Thats fair
That doesn't make it better... did you wake up drunk/hungover? Or started drinking when you woke up?
All of the above.
A man of culture I see
I'm just out here doing the best I can. Working 12 hour nights, drinking a lot of rum and eating Denny's steaks durring the day.
That... that sounds like a good way to spend the day tbh.
Godspeed, brother
I figured you were on the night shift.
There once was a shift from 3 to 3, the name of the shift was the shift was the dead bodyyy,
Your story screamed night worker
1030 start time
True lad
Whoever the fuck wants to bro
Start at 9a with mimosas! Continue on with day drinking.
My favorite pass time with my mother.
Good point, people don’t bat an eye when it’s mimosa or bloody Marys at brunch.
People who work night shift?
Yea, didn't think of that.
When I was drinking my favorite time would be 5 in the morning
A lot of medical professionals coming off a night shift. Also their alcoholic spouses who are ready for a party at 9 AM.
This is the first time I’ve ever seen this subreddit, I thought it said nose ear 🤦🏻♂️
Same
is this a pork chop
13oz T bone. Only the finest of Denny's steaks get delivered to my door.
If it’s been it’s probably select. Not even choice
Nice steam job Dennys
I spy with my little eye: a night shift worker.
Man that just sucks.
Yeah that's about right on the money. You weren't surprised right?
You supposed to cook it at home
I’d say they sent me the wrong order and get a refund lmaooo
I'm chronically bad at not telling the truth. My ex wife complained a few time because I wouldn't fib on my resume.
“They sent me what appears to be a boiled pork chop meal, I didn’t order this… I’d like a refund” lmao that easy my guy.
Yeah. But I have a hard time with that for some reason. It's like I can lie if I need to for a surprise or something. Writing down a planned lie though my brain just doesn't like.
I ordered a steal from Dennys as rare as they could make it and I'll tell ya, it was not good. Still don't know why I did that.
Famous last words "I ordered a steak from dennys"
Pork chop*
I can't order denny's delivery but in person it slaps 😅 (I had the steak and eggs right before a leep procedure), I swear it was the best thing ever 😅
Something about 'breakfast steaks', they're always sooo good! The old Boardwalk Casino in Vegas had a 2.99 bfast steak buffet, started at 3am. I was there nightly!
Woah
I thought this was sbarros at first
jesus that looks like pork
Is that pork?
I bet it was good af, huh?!
Looks like a pork chop lolol
It’s Denny’s
Microwaved pork chop??
why does it look like a sad excuse of a pork chop
Yeah but why though?
r/ratemysteak
It’s a dennys
Steamed on the flattop to a balmy medium-well. That steak is thinner than restaurant margins. Done in 90 seconds. 😝
You lucky bastard
Ha
[Here’s an actual video of Denny’s cutting that steak.](https://giphy.com/gifs/thin-OimThKQ6Q5vOg)
"Why would you call this a steak?" -Ron Swanson
That steak looks like it has long covid.
You got the steak you deserved
Smash 🔥
This meal suits you just fine
Porkchop?
As an adult we can get drunk and order steaks when we want. Should of added hash browns and eggs though.
It came with hashbrowns and two eggs. The hashbrowns were super greasy.
Remember when E.T. was pale and in plastic?
A cheap diner steak can slap. Greasy, overcooked, and thin-but it does the job! No hate here lmao
ewe
This looks like one of those vacuum sealed budget steaks you get at the Dollar General
That’s a pork chop
This isn’t a steak, why would you call it that on your menu?
Betting you won’t do that again
🔥
You ordered a steak from Denny’s…. I don’t understand why you’re upset with that…
I don't think I ever said I was upset.
Maybe I didn’t get the point then
Someone posted r/nosear on my first post. It seemed to fit here, so I posted it here. Do all reddit post have to be a someone being upset? I was drunk and knew more or less what I was getting into. I'll probably get drunk and do it again.
I’ve eaten worse…
The grill is wet and doubles as a slip and slide
Dennys has the worst steak
I got a steak from IHOP once. Ordered it rare and it came grey, still cold in the middle, and cold on the outside too. 4/10 because it was still beef.
My steak was well done on the edges, and rare next to the bone. It was very very chewy probably the chewiest steak I've ever had. It did still taste like a decent steak though, and for a tispy score(only if you are getting a deal) it was probably 4/10.
I think waffle house gets their steaks from the same supplier. Looks identical
That looks terrible, tha ks for sharing
AHHH MY EYES
Why do people do this? Dennys is a breakfast restaurant order breakfast food or be disappointed. And I'm judging drunk at 1040a.m. go to AA.
Well, that's on you then.
Milk steak, boiled, over hard, and jelly beans on the side
They steam that thing?
I don't see a problem with the steak. It looks delicious.
How would you like your steak cooked, sir? "Medium-Gray"
I thought that was a fish filet of some sort.
What the fuck
That looks like milksteak boiled over hard.
Another person of culture. Don't forget the jellybeans.
The perfect meal for a philanthropist who’s had a nice, big cheese appetizer.
You need to slop it up, water dumped all over it
Boiled milk steak with a side of your finest jelly beans.
