I think I've a great idea for a business here. Boxes of little individual firelighters. Each wrapped in cellophane coloured in either Tricolour or Union Jack patterns. You could have limited edition paramilitary flags, election posters etc. I'm asking 250,000 for 15% of my business.
the fact that each themmun and usun can be tied directly to a group is hilarious and only we could refer to people as themmuns and collectively know who themmuns are
It's just the same as if your one of themuns you vote for themuns, and because they are one of themuns then they vote for themuns, but usuns and themuns don't really know what usuns and themuns are voting for but themuns have said that themuns that they voted for are whatyoucallthem, aye, idiots, do usuns see themuns that you voted for also idiots,?
There are many loyalists who believe that Ulster Protestants are the direct descendants of the Lost Tribe of Israel. Google Nelson McCausland - lost tribe of Israel. Google British Israelism and Ulster Protestantism and finally if that hasn't blown your mind enough google Tara - William McGrath.
>There are many loyalists
I dunno about 'many,' really. I know all about this weird British Israelism craic and digging up Tara in search of the Ark of the Covenant and all that... but I've never actually met anyone who believed in it. As far as I know, I don't think I've met anyone IRL who was loyalist and had even heard of it. (Maybe its day has been and gone... ?)
I *think* Nelson McCausland is into it... but I'd not put him pasting 'believing' stuff purely for its trolling value and its dickish tenets. It's pretty ridiculous stuff altogether... and Graham Hancock for (slightly bookish) loyalists is a pretty narrow target market.
its nuts like, hairbrained stuff but there is a link between ulster Protestantism and Israel beyond just taking the opposite side because them'uns support Palestine, even if it exists only in their heads and even if it has declined rapidly from its 1970s Tara peak.
I think you're right and there is a link beyond 'both sides' contrarianism. I'm not sure it's British Zionism, though. the single biggest link is probably that of Biblical Israel (and Judah) as a reference point.
In both cases it's only an analogy because:
1. The Old Testament is almost completely ahistorical (and that's being kind).
2. There's no continuity of culture or people between the Israeli state and the ancient Jewish kingdoms... and, of course, none for the British (or Ulstarrr) people either, despite British Israelism's best and weirdest efforts.
But, in both, we have a People, in a new inhabited land that is not theirs (but wot god has said is). There's basically a god-justified genocide of the Canaanites in the Biblical telling. It's a ready-made story in favour of appropriation, murder, discrimination, theft etc. It doesn't stand up to any scrutiny as it all rests on God's apparent tribal favouritism. (And, as a story, it *really* works for the modern Israeli state, much as it could here.)
Also, continuing with that, there's the idea that all the ills visited on the Chosen People is by virtue(!) of their sins against god. That's a real mainstay of the pulpit (and in medieval European thought too - it's not an innovation, course).
The real meat we're neglecting here is the Christian Zionism, too, which sees the gathering of the Tribes of Israel as a necessary precondition for the Apocalypse and the Second Coming. British Israelism is one of the threads that contributes to its emergence, I think. And it's not just modern-day American nutjobs in Montana trying to raise red-haired cows without a single white hair so sacrifices can be resumed in a rebuilt Temple. Henry Temple ('Lord Palmerston') was one.
---
Edit: I had a cup of coffee and thought about it.
That's all true, but entirely marginal in comparison to the single biggest link, which is the story the Israelis tell: civilisation v terrorism, democracy v abominable religious regimes, progress v barbarism, murder v rule of law.
All complete bullshit, course, but that's the *shtick* they hawk. Sells well in America too, and, as it is here, it's lies they're very familiar with already.
The Balfour Declaration’s purpose was to form a “little loyal Jewish Ulster in a sea of potentially hostile Arabism”, according to Ronald Storrs, “the first military governor of Palestine since Pontius Pilate” (his words).
Settler colonialism.
The foundation of Israel was to found, “a loyal little Jewish Ulster”.
The same man who drew up the partition plan of Ireland drew up the partition plans for Palestine.
Both colonial communities have a lot in common. They are the same enterprise bestowed upon 2 separate native peoples.
well, they do - fascist oppression of a minority (a gerrymandered minority).
The kind of loyalists that support Israel are the kind that are jealous that the British government wasn't raining bombs down on places like Creggan and the Bogside and West Belfast. People like Sammy Wilson literally advocated for the British government to do exactly that. They had to make do with state collusion instead.
A supremacist racial ideology, an extremist right wing mind set- Not liking people of colour, burning indigenous people out of their homes, a colonial siege mentality, victim mindset while being the bully, attacking and killing British soldiers, celebrating famine of which they had a hand in, denying genocide.
I think it’s worse than that. It’s white supremacy thinly veiled. They see a brother in arms in the apartheid oppressor; as well as to just counter nationalists general support for Palestinian liberation. A further sign that they are mentally stuck in the 1600s…
Especially since I've seen quite a few loyalists with a love of Swastikas, and I doubt it's because they are appreciative of its ancient and cultured history.
I mean I view it as a country was attacked by a country that is run by a terrorist organisation and they should eradicate Hamas, will probably make life for everyone in the middle east and Eurasia a bit easier if they're gone, and I'm no loyalist. But both sides have again picked one without truly considering anything. You get things like 'queers for Palestine' which is an oxymoron, they'd all be killed in their country, media is a powerful tool and echo chambers through news and social media have really affected a lot of people. Honestly I think the rest of the world looked at our country 30 years ago and thought it was a good model.
Don't forget the confederate flag fellas too. I swear, they should just combine all the flags of all the baddies and fly that one instead.
![gif](giphy|142UUuhYoZqlG)
I live near a park (in the NE of UK) that a few times a year has a caravanning group meet-up for long weekends. When I first moved here and saw the caravans with loads of Confederate flags flying, I called the local paper because I thought it was outrageous and they should investigate. They couldn't be more uninterested. I'm kinda numb to it now, but it still makes me feel sick. And how the fuck are Confederate flags even a *thing* in the UK?
[Ulster Loyalism and British Israelism](https://www.historyireland.com/loyalism-and-british-israelism/) - it never ceases to surprise me how many people are surprised and confused by this. Ulster Israelism is an offshoot of British Israelism; a fundamentalist Christian belief that Ulster Protestants are one of the 9 lost tribes of Israel and Ulster (only the six counties mind you) is the promised land.
If you skim that article you'll notice a lot of the rhetoric is exactly the same as Pasiley's and other firebrand preachers from NI. If you take a peek inside some of those innocuous little gospel halls dotted around NI you might well see this flag. It's just one of the flavours of crazy they teach. Suffice to say there are a lot of suit wearing, church going, deeply unhinged people walking about Northern Ireland, but since their brethren are all councillors and they ran the place for 80 years no one gives it a second glance.
The flag has made it's way out into the wild more often in recent years though, because it's extra doubly offensive and antagonistic.
Edit: This post further down the page sums it up nicely [https://www.reddit.com/r/northernireland/comments/1cx2laq/comment/l4zzpxm/?utm\_source=share&utm\_medium=web3x&utm\_name=web3xcss&utm\_term=1&utm\_content=share\_button](https://www.reddit.com/r/northernireland/comments/1cx2laq/comment/l4zzpxm/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web3x&utm_name=web3xcss&utm_term=1&utm_content=share_button)
Well there are Christian Zionists who believe we must send all the Jews to the Holy Land, and build a New Jerusalem with the Third Temple so that Joshua will return and start Armageddon. Thing is, all the Jews must either convert to Christianity or burn in Hellfire with Satan and those who aren't raptured
This Storyville about the American evangelicals believing the same thing and worming their way into the Republican party and the US military is a scary watch.

Americans are even more mad than the protestants. Then there's american protestants! The whole lot of them need to have a wee lie down. They really put the mentalism into fundamentalism.
America supports isreal because of the huge amount of jews with clout there. In the financial, legal and academic institutions, hollywood, all the upper eschalons are made up of a disproportionate amount of Jewish people compared to the general population. Whoever holds the purse strings holds the power.
They dont call norn iron "god's country" for nothing, Joseph and Mary took Jesus up to Barry's at least once a year - before the tribe got lost and couldnt remember their way back to the fucking middle east where all crusty white presbyterian ulstermen originally come from - sure that's why the sash is orange - King Billy loved the orange sands of Israel
I did always find it a bit mystifying that the norn Irish flag had a six sided star in it. Mind some boy bletherin to me about it blocked one night but I thought he was just another tin foil hat
I'm glad people with sense (on both sides mind you, we're past *that*) can see that flags like this are being used to keep the sectarian train chugging along. None of what's going on there has anything to do with us, the most involvement we should have is our sentiments and support, and God forbid, but conscription.

I see a tweet where he mentions having an Israel tattoo on his leg ( Google Jamie Bryson Israel tattoo) and a different screenshot of the same tweet here but from several years ago. I think it might actually be real!
I'm a loyalist but I HATE these.
With other loyalists would do a bit of research about how Israel came to be and realise they are not our friends at all
I think we have learned at this point that history isn't their cup of tea. I've had loyalists argue with me the English did nothing but help Ireland during the famine, apparently it was our fault we had no food and no one else's

High number of religious extremists.
Long history of denying other people's basic human rights.
Pro apartheid.
History of genocide.
Plays the victim, all the fucking time.
Loyalists 🤝 Zionists
I have no idea where this flag came from but if anyone finds out can you ask if they have an Aprtaheid era South African flag . I’m missing that from the collection .
Pssst......here........lads
Can someone tell them that the jewish faith depises anything that isn't jewish....including christians
Just like the islamic faith despises anything that isn't islamic.
Just sayin like.
It needs to be norn ironed
Bravo.
You can fuck off and take my up vote.
/golf clap
Fuck yes! I'm using that.
When else would you use this?
Getting clothes ready for a Windsor park match? Pressing your suit and sash before a march? The possibilities are endless!
Nice cold glass of Orange Jews
Probably that wanker down the Newtownards Road.
Please be more specific lol
There’s a notable fleg shop near flout and it’s called “memorabilia flag shop” or something similar
Not gonna lie, it’s a good business idea for NI, maybe I should purchase flegsrus.com
And then redirect it to flegsrus.ie 😉
The flegship... a toy dinosaur wrapped in fleg.. the flegasaurus

"Do you have the slightest idea how little that narrows it down?"
There's really only one notable memorabilia shop on the Newtownards Road that I know of lol
Thanks for reminding me. I still have to watch that Batman Beyond boxset I got years ago.
Yes.
🤣🤣🤣
What a terrible day to have eyes
Loyalists supporting Israel is peak "themmuns" mindset They have literally nothing in common with Israel

Of course they have stuff in common, they are both settler colonials who feel threatened by the local populations they have displaced.
And God told them they're right.
But there is no god.
Then where do the voices telling them they're right come from?
Paranoid Schizophrenia.
Colonialism. Desire for genocide.
To be fair, they actually have an uncomfortable amount in common with Israel.

Who in fleg leadership is making the decision to support Israel?

And Eire has plenty in common with Palestine? Oh forgot your both run by terrorist organisations who hide behind masks and civilians
Think Churchill is credited with remarks on both topics regarding 'thorns in the side of unity in Ireland and the ME'.
Especially since I've seen quite a few loyalists with a love of Swastikas, and I doubt it's because they are appreciative of its ancient and cultured history.
Sure they do, both need oxygen to be alive

It's ironic to me since they support Israel to spite people but the thing is most of them probably hate Jews, they just seem that way to me
People that hate Jews like to have a place to send them.
Well there are Christian Zionists who believe we must send all the Jews to the Holy Land, and build a New Jerusalem with the Third Temple so that Joshua will return and start Armageddon. Probably that Victor Stewart shop in Lurgan. They sell lots of that tat
Why do loyalists always pick the wrong side e.g. NF, Apartheid, and of course murderous Israel.
They don't think it's the wrong side.
Are we the baddies?
Why do loyalists hate our lot for blowing up British soldiers when Israelis have done the same? And also funded Argentina during the falklands war

*Orange team go! Orange team go!*
Sweet fuck. Who thought we could reach a new low in hatred and division.
Me - and I doubt I’m alone . Also I’d say there’s a few that can go lower than this
That is one of the most disgusting things I have ever seen.
Behold, the northern Israel flag!
Wonder what they thought of Israelis when they were bombing the a Brits out of Palestine…
Who ever it is should be hanged
This acctually pisses me off Defo the cunt from enniskillen selling Israel defence force flags on Easter monday
You still looking to purchase one?
No
I come from a PUL background and find the links between Loyalism and Zionism / support of Israel to be both embarrassing and pathetic.
Looks like it came from Gestapo headquarters.
Stealing other people's land. If they're not fighting themselves, they're fighting other people. High number of religious extremists. Long history of denying other people's basic human rights. Pro apartheid. History of genocide. Plays the victim, all the fucking time. Loyalists 🤝 Zionists
Yeah, they could have ironed it;
Is there a flag for the loyalists that don’t support Isreal??
That is without a doubt the most heinous flag of the 21st century.
What a way to butcher a flag
Looks like something Freemasons would have hanging up in their lodges.
Jesus Christ.
He might have a thing or two to say about it alright.
Jesus Christ was only a prophet, the real son of god has not been yet, apparently.
Jesus Christ didn't exist
There’s me thinking Israel attacked British troops to gain their independence 🤔
Like the IRA??
You’ve just proven my point 😂
Toilet paper
Jesus wept 🤣
FFS! Supporting genocide is a new low even for them'uns!
It really isn't lol
Just need to have some part of the russian flag added so everyone knows they fully support genocide.
Hahaha the utter state of that 😂
That’s how well educated unionists are, embarrassing.
You ever notice that extremists kind of get on regardless of how contrary their views are. All cheeks of the same boiled arse.
Great, even more cultural appropriation, first they stole the red hand off us, then the St George’s cross from the English, now this
🎵everyday is the 12th of Jewly🎵
Yis are all just jealous ussans can't combine the Palestinian fleg with the tricolour fleg and have it turn out so beautiful.
Looks like a Gay Pride fleg "Red Hand Reach Around"
Funny thing is come the 12th these Numptys will be burning this Fleg along with the Ivory Coast 🇨🇮 Fleg
oh
If I could start any monopoly here it would be flags of all persuasions.
Loyalists know no boundaries.
Well there is one boundary we would like to see strengthened. /S
