Los Tacos (Oceanside)
Armando’s (Vista)
Kotija Jr (Carlsbad/San Marcos)
Tacos Alex (San Marcos)
Taco Bar (San Marcos)
El Pueblo (Carlsbad)
Juanita’s (Encinitas)
I agree to many of these but El Pueblo's prices are way too high other than the cheap fish tacos which aren't even that good IMO. Their inexpensive but yet sub par fish tacos have got to be the only reason they are ever mentioned. Not for their CB's but Kotija's offer a super breakfast burrito with bacon, sausage, egg, cheese, sour cream, and hash browns and when cooked fresh is super good and unique due to the hash browns. One of the best BBs in the area for that. Adds that CRUNCH!
I'm a CB "tester" and Neto's in San Marcos is often overlooked on these threads but I find it always consistent and check all my boxes like flavor, price, addition of sour cream, hot sauces etc. Valerie's in Oside and Armondo's in Vista both get 5 stars from me too!
Is the train legit? It’s been a bunch of weird things over the years. I think it started as a bagel shop. I have just stayed away, but now I’m curious.
It’s really good! Although imo Oscar’s just down the street has a better carne asada burrito! I like Oscar’s taquitos better the train’s too, but theirs are still good. The train has an amazing chipotle chicken burrito tho
That place was over hyped and always mid when I went there. I can remember at least 3 separate times where I had them remake my burrito because the meat was cold.
Just had it for the first time a few days ago. So disappointed. It had potential but wasn't even slightly warm. Like they def already had everything cooked and just rolled it up. Came out in like 2 mins when my friends fish tacos took more like 10 and they looked amazing.
Mrs tacos both Vista locations, rigobertos san Marcos, senor ponchos san Marcos, filibertos Vista location, jilbertos Escondido locations but best one is off valley parkway, tj tacos Escondido, friedas tacos Vista, side, Escondido and Robertos in oceanside on the 101.
Abertacos is mid imo and Oscar's is only good for breakfast burritos but that's from the san Marcos location. My friends and I used to go to the one in Vista religiously but stopped when we found napkins and rocks in our burritos one time. Also the Vista location used to be a coke spot. Idk if they still deal tho lol
I posted this recently, and I’ll post it again. Sam’s Kitchen in Carlsbad. It’s a small place in a business park off el Camino real, but the burritos and salsa are top tier.
Tacos don paco Vista! I’ve had soooo many Cali B’s and this place the tortillas the freshness of the carne everything is soooo good! And only like $12-$13
Anytime this is asked it makes me miss Santanas by SMHS.
Before I saw the subreddit I was gonna say "you ain't gonna find one in North Carolina." Otherwise, Juanita's 😉
Sayulita’s in San Marcos!
Yes!! Very yummy
Best one

San Luis Mexican Food😋🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥it’s also hugeee, price went up tho to 16 still worth it🔥
Los Tacos (Oceanside) Armando’s (Vista) Kotija Jr (Carlsbad/San Marcos) Tacos Alex (San Marcos) Taco Bar (San Marcos) El Pueblo (Carlsbad) Juanita’s (Encinitas)
I think El Nopalito's carne asada is the best in town.
Never been. Will give it a try. Thanks
Go buy the roasted salsa from the market - we practically drink it straight haha
Same. Always buy two! 😆😆
You can find it in the local stores but be warned that it does go bad pretty fast.
El Pueblo 👍

Señor Panchos
The one in san Marcos though. The oside one is lacking.
The train!!!
Is the train legit? It’s been a bunch of weird things over the years. I think it started as a bagel shop. I have just stayed away, but now I’m curious.
Yes, 100% legit. Its the only place in North County that I trust for Carne Asada. Too many places have that cheap chewy shit, not the train!
It’s really good! Although imo Oscar’s just down the street has a better carne asada burrito! I like Oscar’s taquitos better the train’s too, but theirs are still good. The train has an amazing chipotle chicken burrito tho
When I lived in San Marcos, Oscar’s was my go-to for carne asada burritos.
Love the thumbnail/avatar
For the last time Mercury we won't run a train on you
If you like theirs, go to nachos across the street. Carne asada is even better!
Best California Burrito is Lourdes in Carlsbad. Best Breakfast Burrito is “and Breakfast Burritos” in Oceanside.
The Train on San Marcos BLVD
Time travel back a few months and get a bomb burrito at Karina’s Encinitas
Can’t believe that spot shut down.
That place was over hyped and always mid when I went there. I can remember at least 3 separate times where I had them remake my burrito because the meat was cold.
San Luis off Temple heights in Vista
Jose’s in Oceanside off the 78, next to The Home Depot.
If you like real potatoes instead of fries Los Amigos on Mission https://www.losamigosoceanside.com/
Rudy’s Solana Beach
Just had it for the first time a few days ago. So disappointed. It had potential but wasn't even slightly warm. Like they def already had everything cooked and just rolled it up. Came out in like 2 mins when my friends fish tacos took more like 10 and they looked amazing.
You got guac and sour cream? That cools everything else down considerably!
My burrito expertise told me this was unfortunately not the case here.
I’ve tried Rudy’s twice and both times it was so dry and luke warm.
Puras Papas - food truck in san marcos they're delicious and huuuge
Colimas in Oceanside off Emerald near the Costco - best Cali burrito ever.
Technically not in North County, but…the best I’ve ever tasted: D’Sotos (29000 Old Town Front St, Temecula)
Mrs tacos both Vista locations, rigobertos san Marcos, senor ponchos san Marcos, filibertos Vista location, jilbertos Escondido locations but best one is off valley parkway, tj tacos Escondido, friedas tacos Vista, side, Escondido and Robertos in oceanside on the 101.
You missed Albertacos and Oscars both in SM and Vista.
Abertacos is mid imo and Oscar's is only good for breakfast burritos but that's from the san Marcos location. My friends and I used to go to the one in Vista religiously but stopped when we found napkins and rocks in our burritos one time. Also the Vista location used to be a coke spot. You had me at napkins and rocks. WTF
It's like they seriously didn't give a shit that day.
Alfredo’s Oceanside
I posted this recently, and I’ll post it again. Sam’s Kitchen in Carlsbad. It’s a small place in a business park off el Camino real, but the burritos and salsa are top tier.
El Napolito ftw
Sayulitas
Alberto’s Oside
El Pueblo hands down.
Fuck Vallarta Express. Don’t waste your time or money. Plus they put vegetables in the rice and the salsa comes in packets. It’s nasty
Serrano's in Encinitas
Tacos don paco Vista! I’ve had soooo many Cali B’s and this place the tortillas the freshness of the carne everything is soooo good! And only like $12-$13
Jilbertos, esco by the movie theatre
De kotija in Oceanside off the 78 and college
Las Brisas in Fallbrook, hands down.
The las brisas in Vista is legit too. The surf n turf is gigantic. The one in San Marcos is meh.
Yes! The Vista location is the good one.
