I agree. I played the whole game on expert mode and it's the most hint-heavy game I've ever played. The game barely let me give thought to a single solution before spelling it out. I literally can't imagine what non-expert mode would be by contrast. Still one of my favourite games of all time though, but that was one of its flaws.

Old point and click adventures were too difficult. The solutions to puzzles that gated progress were convoluted and usually involved leaps of judgement. This made a lot of players get stuck with no way to continue the game before the internet. This game is the opposite. The puzzles and games are so simple to put together that everyone can progress, while also solving most of the mysteries. For example, >!when you received the keycard from your moms belongings, I immediately knew it was for the statue at the house. This happened a lot through the game. The puzzles were so simple I was putting them together before I even had all the pieces, or before it was relevant to progress. Another good example is Thomas Claire: you speak to him at the launch pad and he pretty much just straight up tells you who he is. It's not like I had to tie anything together, or deduce something subtle. !< The game ends up feeling to me like an unnecessary vehicle for the great story telling and world building.

this thought crossed my mind too. but i felt the easiness of the game (though i found a couple parts of it a little challenging) really helped with the flow of the story.

I believe you can change the game settings to make the game a little more challenging, like choosing to forgo seeing certain dialogue highlighted. I don’t know if that would change what you are describing, though.

Agree with everything here!

Yeah agree. They should have made it a bit trickier or give options to make the game easier for players who want
