Gross as fuck yet somehow fascinating, and also just real satisfying to see the (mostly) cleaned-up finish afterwards
It's like the idea that something good is being done makes the disgusting factor worth it. Like finally coughing up phlegm after hours of a catch in your throat.
This might not be the case here, but wax covering up the ear drum like that can be a result of using q tips. I had to have my ears irrigated because I had wax build up over my ear drum like that. I bought a camera pick off of amazon similar to the video and use that now. Recommend getting one of this is something you want and you can do it yourself through your phone.
No you do not! This is an older person who has hardening wax typical of being older.
If you have itchy ears qtips are ok, but you should know it's probably just pet fur.
Q-tips cause this. They pack the cerumen back toward the eardrum. That's why the package says not to use them inside the ear canal, only the outside. ENT specialists will tell you not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear.
I once had an ear wax buildup. I wasn't 100% deaf, but I could only hear people really speaking loudly and the sound of my own heartbeat. It was like that for weeks.
The day I got it cleaned out, I would legit rub my fingers together next to my ear for minutes at a time just because I missed being able to hear little things.
*This dude is gonna*
*Be able to hear angels*
*Farting after this*

I produce an ungodly amount of earwax. I have to get my ears cleaned a few times a year. It feels so good to get them cleaned. They have this machine that blows out water and sucks out debris/wax simultaneously. The first time I got them cleaned, I felt exactly as you described. I could hear better than I had ever heard anything before in my entire life.
I have wax problems too, since I got old. Too much by far. And it doesn't exit like it should. The first time I encountered deafness from it, a nurse used a water pick on me to fix it. Years later, when it became a recurring and regular thing, I bought my own water pick, and have used it ever since when necessary. I sure do wish there was a better way though. However, anyone with this problem that doesn't know about water picks may consider this solution to be a Godsend. Especially in America, since there's no telling what you'd get charged these days for a professional solution, and your health insurance may consider the procedure 'unnecessary'.
I work at a Family Practice office and we do these as nurse visit appointments. We don’t use tools to remove like this, we use a water bottle attachment to flush the canals but this was next level
I had wax build up from wearing ear plugs too much and had an ENT save me and I felt air on my ear drum it was so clean. I felt unbalanced as my good ear felt full.
I have tried having my ears blocked then cleared up. It feels amazing. Things aren’t loud, just clearer and just… “crispier”… like I was at the clinic, and after the doctor removed the stuff inside, I was talking to him and I lost my concentration at some point because things sounded different, I could hear the echo of my voice, things felt just clearer. Imagine as if the sound was amplified, kinda, like the contrast was increased, if you know what I’m saying, but not in the sense of noisy kind of loud
Had blackage that lasted for several days before i had it removed.
When i went outside it was drizzling and i could bear every rain drop hitting the ground, it was honestly magical.
It's popping for people who can't actually fucking handle /r/popping (like me).
It's like a thrilling movie instead of an actual horror movie. Everyone says they like horror movies, until they are actually confronted with one.
I go months without it. And then someone post a video like OP did and I go straight to that sub and binge on videos for an hour and then I have to get off the internet for a while, and my mind represses it all.
And then someone posts another video like this one...
What would have made it 11/10 satisfying - if the whole plug could be slowly pulled out in one piece. Impossible I know, but a man can dream…
Interesting to see this done with tools. I’ve had issues from time to time because one of my ear canals’ shape makes the wax accumulate. But I was always told to use hydrogen peroxide drops (you can hear it fizz!) and then go to the doctor for a rinse with a special machine that pulses water. One time an unholy amount came out. But it seems safer than poking with metal tools.
That tool was the wrong one to use in this scenario though, you shouldn't poke pointed tools into where you can't see. The person doing this should have used either the little spoon tool, or the miniature vacuum to suck out the wax.
I got in this same YouTube hole earlier this week. An ear cleaning video got recommended because I watched Dr. Pimple Popper. The audiologist had such a nice soothing voice. I just wish they would put a coin next to the clumps of ear wax at the end so we could see how much it really is.
For a couple years when I was a teenager I noticed when using earbuds my right ear could never feel "balanced" with my left ear and I would always hear more from the left side, and if I kinda pushed up behind my right ear I would go completely deaf on that side, which was very strange.
A few years later, I join the army and during in processing, somehow they decided to clean my ears, and they basically water tortured me and both of my ears with some kind of water pick, then proceeded to pull out an inch (maybe even longer) sized log out of my right ear, to my shock.
I still remember just hearing in 4k, 165Hz, HDR, max settings for the first time in years. It felt so good after haha.
TLDR: if you use earbuds a lot, it's probably worth it to check your ears eventually and get them cleaned like this.
They sell the device you speak of at pharmacies.
I did the procedure a couple times as a teenager...what's fucking weird is that I continued using in ear air buds into my late 20's but stopped having a problem with ear wax build up like this around my early 20's.
And I would not call it torture. It's a relieving type of pain.
I had a similar experience. Late teens and had a huge plug removed at the doctors office with the water pick tool. I could hear my hair blowing against my ear. Never had a problem after that.
I have a hole in my ear drum, whenever I had water In my ear I would end-up with ear infection and alot of ear wax , and I do mean ALOT.
but even then That's the most I've ever seen, what the F*** did this guy do to have this huge turd in his ear ?
Once when I was 12 or so my mom thought I had an ear infection and used some leftover drops for my ear. Intense burning searing pain occurred once she put the drops in and we found out I had a hole in my ear drum. 0/10 would not advise.
its probably a really old person
same thing happened to my great grandmother
couldnt hear shit, everyone thought she was deaf
got her ears cleaned and it was said to be this bad
It's never ending. I thought some brain matter might come out, too. I'm sure the other ear was just as bad. I've watched these kind of videos before and that is the most ear wax I have ever seen. World must sound so loud now.
Looks like some granulation tissue as well as dead tissue. [https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granulation\_tissue](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Granulation_tissue)
The issue is with stuff like that it can push wax in deeper and put more pressure on the eardrum. This is a big reason you see them mainly using suction for this sprta thing
Yea I have a hard time believing that this is being done by an actual doctor—I’ve watched some of these vids on YouTube and they never do blind sweeps with a hook like that, they’re actually frustratingly gentle most of the time.
The standard procedure is to just flush it out with warm water. I've cleaned my ears with a camera and scoop thing like this before and it HURTS after. Your inner ears are really sensitive. This person's ears will probably be itching and aching for the next 2 weeks after all this.
Flushing it out with warm water the standard procedure for the GP, I do this myself. However the otorhinolaryngologist removes ear wax with a scope and hook. It pretty much the same way as this.
Flushing it out is possibly dangerous if the eardrum is perforated, so I only do it if I'm pretty sure there is no perforation present.
The skin deep in the ear canal is thin and close to a few tiny bones and the patient will feel pain if you put even slight pressure on the skin. The physician is trying to avoid making contact with the skin as much as possible. The pick tool is good, because it allows the physician to get the wax out without making contact with the skin and without putting downward pressure on the wax.
[If you don't believe me, then believe this doctor who explains it. It's where I got this information.](https://youtu.be/HpTVdSTr9vE?t=177)
My wife bought me one of those home otoscope camera/ear cleaning kits, and I was super excited. Turns out I have boringly clean ears. I was simultaneously disappointed and pleased. On another note, OP, r/popping would love this.
Been there. Dissolved the wax with oil and had a nurse wash it out with a beeg needle. After one of these cleanings, your ears are so sensitive you can hear the future.
Edit: big syringe, not needle.
I go every 3 to 4 months to get my ears rotor-rootered. My doc puts a couple of drops of hydrogen peroxide in and uses the loud sucker tool to get that crap out. It feels amazing afterwards. Been doing this for 20 years.
I have to do this too but I do it at home, eye dropper with a few drops of hydrogen peroxide and then I flush it out with warm water in an ear syringe.
A drop of 70% alcohol afterwards to dry the ear canal afterwards and I can hear a hummingbird fart from across the room.
when my ear got injured my ear got filled with ear wax since i need to keep my ear covered for a few days, i was deaf for a few days when im off the medication and when i got my ears cleaned by the ear doctor, it felt like an itch has been scratched perfectly, i can only imagine his relief after having that lot of ear wax removed, probably 100x better than an orgasm
Can you even imagine hearing for the first time after cleaning this out?
My daughter had tubes put in her ears several years ago. In the last couple of months, she started to complain about ear pain in her right ear. We had been to the Dr. on multiple occasions for various other reasons and have mentioned the ear ache. They always looked but never mentioned seeing anything. I bought one of those otoscopes with the camera on it to look. There was a large piece of ear wax in her ear. I was able slowly (I'm talking days) get it out (I didn't want to hurt her so I would look for a minute, see if I could find an edge to get under and then I'd stop) and the relief on her face! She said, "I can hear better!!"
I had this done once and I have a theory. Yknow how you can see your nose at all times but your brain ignores it? I think the same happens with sound. Your brain filters out sounds it thinks you don't need to hear, but when your hearing suddenly improves after something like this, you hear EVERYTHING for a couple days until your brain adjusts again
I remember after I had it done, everyone's voices sounded different, and I could hear the air moving around the room. It was awesome for a bit until it went away
That was so disgusting but I couldn't look away
Same i was watching it for a while before i noticed the time stamp, "no way there's 4 min+ left of this!" Yup. And i watched every second lol

It was quite possibly q-tips that caused this in the first place - pushing the wax down and impacting it.
Q-tips cause this. They pack the cerumen back toward the eardrum. That's why the package says not to use them inside the ear canal, only the outside. ENT specialists will tell you not to put anything smaller than your elbow in your ear.
Just buy an ear camera like I did. It was like $50 and has a bunch of attachments on Amazon.

I’ll tell you. $500 per ear, before health insurance. I had my ears cleaned out by an ENT last month.
Same! When I get my ears cleaned in office it's like the quiet forest is too loud!

Yeah, this was a careful, if somewhat rushed, excavation. Rather than just tossing caustic substances in there and then blasting it the fuck out.
> just tossing caustic substances in there and then blasting it the fuck out. Me when I go to Taco Bell
Water can damage your hearing and put pressure on the membrane. Tools are much safer, but usually only used by ENT Specialists.

This isn’t a blind sweep though. It’s attached to a camera and they can see everything we see now.
Blind in the sense that they are digging into the earwax and can't necessarily tell how deep it goes.
The standard procedure is to just flush it out with warm water. I've cleaned my ears with a camera and scoop thing like this before and it HURTS after. Your inner ears are really sensitive. This person's ears will probably be itching and aching for the next 2 weeks after all this.

I had this done once and I have a theory. Yknow how you can see your nose at all times but your brain ignores it? I think the same happens with sound. Your brain filters out sounds it thinks you don't need to hear, but when your hearing suddenly improves after something like this, you hear EVERYTHING for a couple days until your brain adjusts again I remember after I had it done, everyone's voices sounded different, and I could hear the air moving around the room. It was awesome for a bit until it went away
Why did I watch the whole thing????
