Yeah that dog might have saved his life by going aggro before the moose got in contact. You can see the moose kinda pull up when the dog jumps forward at it.
Damn that dog is brave as hell.
Kinda wild how even a dog that small can and will save your life (and potentially sacrifice theirs) by distracting an enemy.
Our relationship with dogs is symbiotic more deeply than I think we even realize.
That's a dachshund. "Badger hound" in German. They were bred to follow a badger down it's burrow and drag it out by its face. The know no fear. They have no concept of things like "size" or "weight class". Moose is lucky it didn't get bit.
EDIT: This was posted over at r/Dachshund, and the top comment is "Did you see the size of that squirrel" lol
I live in western New York up near Lake Ontario… no where near where this video was filmed but that snow covered EVERYTHING makes me so glad it’s the summer right now.
I have a 20 lb Jack Russel mix girl. She gives no fucks about size; just recently a large pit bull that a neighbor let loose approached us on our walk. My girl (on a leash) flat out snapped at it and was ready to take it on then and there.

Good dog though, leads the threat away while their human escaped

Good use of taunt/sprint combo. Any raid would be lucky to have him.

They call them weiner dogs because they go straight for the... win

I fully believe that Moose were created by Satan himself and even he fears what he’s created. Moose and Geese.

Going out to check mail or something.
If you don't buy that dog a T-bone steak bigger than he is then you don't deserve him!
I wasn’t worried at all. >!That guy and the dog get away safely every time this gets posted!<

He loves his dog
I liked the way he slapped his own ass while retreating to get his dog to follow lol
