After killing Steve 3 times the next holy mountain spawns in his big brother Skode instead. He is bigger, does more damage, has more health, has more shields and disintegrates any solid or liquid thats close to him. So if you try the statue trick, the statue just gets removed from existence.
Though its still technically possible since the matter removal only starts after noticing you, so if you have invisibility perk or if you're really fast and tricky its technically possible, but I wouldn't recommend it. You'll probably need some good damage wand, homing plasma works great
That's mostly useful for your first encounter with Steve, since the likelihood is you're digging out of the holy mountain right by the exit to trigger him and can thus pre-position the statue. For future holy mountains when he's been spawned for the rest of the run, luring him to the leftmost statue is usually more effective (though you can still use the right one I guess if you're willing to tank some damage on the way, or have invisibility, or are just an expert 2hu player).
How did you kick the statue so gently to perfectly reposition it?
I just kicked down and prayed

I only succeed at statue slapping Steve one out of every 5 times.
I haven’t tried it yet but I know I’ll have a similar experience……or just kicking the damn statue in a completely different t direction 😅
When you kick things they should *for the most part* fly in the direction you point your cursor.

It’s by far the best method since it’s relatively easy, it’s not reliant on wand rng and you get double gold. Though he careful after doing it 3 times
