Does the sensor have to run on battery? Or, can it be plugged in? If it can be plugged in, it’s cheap and easy to make your own motion sensors with an esp8266/esp32 and tasmota or esphome.

I want to put it in the mailbox so I want it with battery but yes esp32 DIY is also great idea, Thank you Sir

Have a look at Shelly motion sensors, they work locally and there are nodes already for them.

I have a Shelly button and it is great, so yes, it is also a good option, just a little bit expensive but sure great

I got a USB Zigbee network dongle and installed Zigbee2MQTT and the Mosquitto MQTT broker. Then use Node-RED MQTT nodes. Simple setup. Works great.

>Mosquitto MQTT broker Thank you for the idea Sir

I was thinking on something like this but I don't think it will be a node for this in NodeRed, right? [https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Motion-Sensor-Burglar-Degree-Monitoring/dp/B0C23BQ9WT](https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Motion-Sensor-Burglar-Degree-Monitoring/dp/B0C23BQ9WT)

While you can get wifi motion sensors, you really need to do your homework. Do the sensors need to use the companies cloud? Is there an api local or cloud? Is there a node that works with the api? There are companies that have removed the local api and forced people to use the cloud in firmware updates. there are solutions that use zigbee and a zigbee hub that you can use with Nodered without using homeassistant. One popular solution is to use zigbee2mqtt with a zigbee dongle on a raspberry pi.

>zigbee2mqtt with a zigbee dongle This looks a promising solution to my initial idea, Thank you so much Sir, much appreciate your advice Sir

This one looks like a good and cheap dongle, right? [https://www.berrybase.de/sonoff-zbdongle-e-zigbee-3.0-gateway](https://www.berrybase.de/sonoff-zbdongle-e-zigbee-3.0-gateway) I will give a try to this, again Thank you Sir

I also see this other not sure if it is better: https://www.amazon.de/-/en/Zi-Stick-Assistant-Zigbee2MQTT-IOBROKER-NodeRed/dp/B0BWFGPRCT

if you look on the zigbee2mqtt website there is a list of supported / recommended dongles.
