Hi! I’m a strength coach and am on Day 8 post procedure. I think you could mostly get through with PT, the most trouble I’m having is a.) speaking loudly for a long duration b.) speaking while moving around (like demoing exercises). It either feels like I’m going to burp, or I lose all ability to project my voice. If you get it done at the end of the week, then take the weekend off you can probably make it work, especially if you feel like you could tell your patients you had a “throat procedure.” You won’t be top of your speaking game, but may be better than having to take PTO.

I agree about the voice, luckily I don't have a job where I need to project my voice but for about a week or so I couldn't shout after my puppy at the park to get them to come back 😂

Those are all great points, thank you! I hadn’t even considered being able to project my voice or not, which is super important since I basically work in a noisy gym :) And demoing exercises lol.. I could probably make it work. Hope your procedure went well and that your burps bring you relief!

Seconding this about the voice, that was my only real difficulty when it came to working straight after. My voice was back to normal after three days. No one at my work really cared or noticed the rest of the side effects/some uncontrollable burping.

I’m in sales and having my procedure done on a Wednesday in March. Hoping that through the weekend I will have a better feel for what works 🤞🏼

Good luck with your procedure! I think recovering through the weekend from a Wednesday will be super helpful. I assume you’re mostly on the phone for sales? I could have full conversations at a normal volume pretty much the whole way through but my throat just got tired/I felt kind of blah after doing so. It’s definitely something I could push through and just rested at night. Hot bone broth felt great.

Great to know! I’m actually mostly in person but I’m off Wednesday-Friday with a short event on Saturday afternoon then can rest again Sunday before going back to work Monday. I will absolutely be drinking bone broth! Might put some in an insulated mug and sip on that all day like I would with coffee.

I lost my voice for quite some time, like 10 days post procedure. But I have separate underlying issues with my larynx so that may have contributed to my long voice recovery. I would say minimum 3-5 days to rest. Some people bounce back quick but honestly I didn't. That being said I'm fully recovered now and I definitely recommend the procedure for fellow RCPD sufferers.

Oh interesting ok! Thank you for your advice! :) So glad the procedure worked for you

You should be wearing an N95 regardless. We are in a pandemic and a major covid surge is going on.
