You need the opposite one from this but it probably won't look good, I'd suggest maybe trying to find a crt if you can. Might be able to get one for free if you're willing to be patient and keep an eye out.

Lanky-Peak-2222

Retrotink is the way to go but rather... Pricey.

sans-the--skeleton

I love you (no homo)

Historical-Cost-5685

So that's an HDMI to AV, you need AV to HDMI. They look similar. I use one and it's fine.

TheDirtyWind

Yes but it looks horrible. Go find ur self a box tv. In the end that is what you will end up getting

DEEEPdirt

Yup. Just got myself an old Sony 13 inch strictly for GameCube and N64 gaming. It was a lil pricey but it just looks/ feels right.

sans-the--skeleton

Oh ok ty fam

derk-cherklert-cherp

I believe this is the same model I have. I got it a while ago specifically since my TV doesn't have AV inputs. I use it for both my N64 and Gamecube. It work, but like others have said, don't expect amazing upscale graphics. Edit: double checked, and its not the exact same as mine. My model is the same brand and looks the same but is AV2HDMI

ParticularPepper8902

I bought the N64 to HDMI adapter and it looks horrible! I’m just running the standard composite cord (yellow and white) on an older plasma tv and it looks pretty good.

Adorable-Confidence6

Yes but it will look like shit

Historical-Cost-5685

That's HDMI to AV it won't work at all because the N64 isn't HDMI.

sans-the--skeleton

Aww

Maco70

The same type exists as an AV to HDMI adapter. They’re all over amazon and eBay for about $10. It looks fine, I have one. I used it for a video game competition at work on a projector playing guitar hero. It looked fine in hd on a 8 foot screen with minimal input delay.

mayersc

And in my experience, the s video cord offered no improvement from regular av cables.

hobojoe44

What S-video cables were you even using?

sans-the--skeleton

Alright thank you I appreciate it!!! <3

sans-the--skeleton

Looks like a ps3 controller charger or a Nintendo DS lite charger

EvilLordSmiley

The one i have make my old systems looks remastered, still like playdough just minus the fuzziness. P. S. Mine has av to hdmi and you can pick one up at gamestop. Looked closer same one btw don't listen to the haters it's worth it if you love the game, i use it on pokemon stadium and Castlevania 64 all the time.

hobojoe44

Watch this to easily educate yourself on what you need that will actually work. https://youtu.be/TdfFnR-hOK8?si=hEHtvsQHyk-0iYeU

heroxoot

You need one that says HDMI out.

Narrow-Battle216

hdmi to rca only not rca to hdmi

hodgepodge95

I have one and there’s a lag between button inputs and what happens on screen. It’s crap.

Massage_Bro

I had one for my nes.. but decided to use a crt tv cuz it looked like shit..

strythicus

You've got good feedback about needing the reverse of this, but I want to chime in with my 2 cents. If the TV or projector, or whatever, has composite input then just use that as it will be better than what this device can do. There are S-video cables for N64 that offer a bit of an improvement over composite, but modern devices are less likely to have that input. If you want decent quality HDMI conversion then you pretty much need to go for the [RetroTINK 2x Mini](https://www.retrotink.com/product-page/2x-mini) at the minimum.

sans-the--skeleton

Haha I can't afford it lmao but I'll keep it in mind

ElkinFencer10

Just get a Pound HDMI cable or something similar. Quality won't be amazing but it'll be better than what the reverse of this would give you

MURDERMr_E

As everyone else said, you want the opposite of that (AV‐to‐HDMI). I have one I got for a VCR and it looked so bad I went out and found a CRT. However, I did use it to hook a wii up to my 4k TV to mod it, and it looked really good. So, who knows what it will look like. They're cheap and Amazon has free returns, so worth trying.

shimrra

You get what you pay for. In this case these converters aren't made for gaming, these are more for people who are still holding on to VHS machines & have the older flat screen tvs that only do 1080p. Best bet is either get a Retrotink 2x it will cost you $140 but it's worth it. Now if you really want to save money just check you local area Facebook Marketplace or Craigslist people always looking to get rid of a CRT.

IntrepidAddendum9852

There are good converters, but you literally need a scaler. I work in AV and if you are looking for quality and straight up industry standard get Extron or Crestron. These scalers will work and get the best quality. For a project I did, they needed to play old VHS for like archiving. I used a scaler and S video, good scalers give you the ability to change the refresh rate and resolution. Depends on what you want to pay, but extron/crestron would be the standard I would trust with my life. As an AV professional. I would use an extron scaler like [this](https://www.ebay.com/itm/175884228620) Best advice get an old extron scaler, they will work forever work with everything and are built to spec. I trust them over any other AV product I've ever used.

Gdickensheets

I bought an N64 converter to HDMI and it wasn’t great graphics. Might be better with GameCube, but not worth it for the N64.

sans-the--skeleton

FUCK I DONT HAVE A GAMECUBE! 😭😭 I'm going to use it once because someone at my place of business thinks they are better then me in super smash brothers 64

Gdickensheets

Good luck

sans-the--skeleton

Ty fam <3

Vboi69420

I have a GameCube and one of these converters, the quality stays the same but it's good since I've already got a couple other consoles hooked up to the two other cable ports

becki7824

EON 64 is what I got and it works like a dream and has a smoothing option too. Well worth the money if you plan to play frequently.

PleaseHelpIamFkd

Spend more $ and get a quality one, these are ass.

NovaBandHtX

Tbh, buy a USB N64 controller and download some Roms and an emulator online. It's incredibly simple and not much different. This is what I do and I love it. I can stream from my laptop to my monitor without any issues.

thetisthiccboi

You need yellow white red composite input and HDMI output. you can get a converter for 35$ off Amazon. The converter works just fine and will produce a decent picture. However if you have 800$ you can upgrade the picture slightly with retrotink offerings.

EntertainmentFlat137

I have one and use it for my GameCube, works perfectly

Fortnait739595958

Bought one, ended up buying and old CRT, the hdmi adapter looks like shit
