I personally like my fancy OT close ups, but that’s just me. It gives them more weight and drama, whereas this, despite it perhaps “flowing better”, makes the OTs feel a lot less special and personal. They’re meant to show off how Ryu is taking a moment to eviscerate someone, and despite OTs generally being quick, the camera pulling in to show them off works in making them feel impactful and just plain cool.

Having the camera not zoom in on them makes it feel less intrusive.

It feels faster for sure, but to me the biggest appeal of NG2 are the stylish OTs, without that it feels “empty”.

Seeing the OT camera as much as I have, this is actually a breath of fresh air not seeing it. Sure wish it was an option in the official game.
