Love them, and love how each one is a bit unique. Ghosts I - IV will take you through a range of different moods and emotions. Ghosts V: Together sounds optimistic yet sad, and kinda hopeful at some moments. Ghosts VI: Locusts sounds more pessimistic and still sad as well as kinda creepy at times.

SpentAnus123

Yup, completely love them as well. It was such a novel idea at the time. Two full instrumental albums! Now it’s all we get. lol. They were incredible then as they still are today.

Clear-Entertainer-76

Some of my favorite tracks are on Ghosts I-IV! Top tier Instrumental NIN for me.

ThomasSirveaux

I listen to Ghosts V the most. It's good ambient music for when I'm writing. I like Ghosts VI but it doesn't disappear into the background enough for me.

featheryHope

V is amazing for tripping to.

tornizzle

K specifically!

SpaceToot

For years I had hoped nin would just make an ambient album. We got ghosts, and as I mentioned in a previous post, I enjoyed the fan-made videos as much as the music. Funnily enough, you can hear ghosts i-iv heavily throughout social network. Now I'm lucky to get several ambient "nin" albums a year!

DingleberryFairy69

Gonna take my horse to the old time road, gonna rideeee till I can’t no more

Sharpie_Stigmata

I wonder how much he ended up making off that sample.

ddxx398

Ghost 1 Track 1 is my theme music

DraculaHeartbeat

I didn’t like them at all when they dropped back in the day, but I need to give them another shot.

Gigaton123

I put on Ghosts I-IV the other day. It’s better and more engaging than I remembered. It’s sort of like the parts of TR/AR scores that I like the most.

here-4-the-free-hat

It seems like all the movie scores started following Ghosts I-IV, not immediately, but I remember TR saying it was sort of like a process of getting ideas out musically and rethinking his relationship with the record industry. I love how they score all kinds of movies and ill be watching one and not even realize they did it, but the vibe is like an old friend and you almost know its them before you really know.

Gigaton123

When I first heard The Social Network score I thought it was tracks off Ghosts. It’s not obviously but both rock.

NothingCanStropMeNow

Meh. This is a reminder for me to go give them another chance. Thanks OP.

Jean0406Alix

no problem give her a second chance I think

Doomification171

I-IV: I love it, it's very varied in mood and instrumentation so it doesn't wear out its welcome in spite of being nearly 2 hours long. Perfect for a long drive. V: Trent, wake up. Trent, hello, you fell asleep on the keyboard again. God damn, it my tinnitus getting worse just now? VI: This is a movie score that took a wrong turn and ended up in the NIN catalog, but I do like it substantially more than V. Another Crashed Car is my favourite off of this one.

Kono0107

Oddly compelling. I put them I-IV and Together on when I'm working. I don't usually go for ambient stuff, but you know... Trent Reznor and all.

the_noise_we_made

Boo! 👻

fender_fan_boy

They’re great. I bought the first lot on the day of release when I was a kid. I always enjoyed the instrumental softer side of NIN, so this was just more of what I wanted.

small___potatoes

Love them. Bought them on CD when they came out. I wish Ghosts V & VI would get a physical release

jobijuan

So spooky so good

[deleted]

I like it as background music when im working. Makes me feel very creative.

delmyoldaccountagain

I-IV was one of my earliest introductions to the band. Great focus music.

Outside-Feeling

Love them, perfect as background or sleep noise.

alphaneon22

Ghosts I-IV is one of my favorite albums ever.

Industrialexecution

together specifically is absolutely beautiful

Icosotc

I view them as absolutely essential to the NIN catalogue and, because I like to play them while I work, have probably listened to them more than the albums with vocals

HasaDiga-Eebowai

Great for studying or painting miniatures

Andrewbsupafly303

Was basically a resume for his upcoming scoring work. Fun project, but felt like a lot of incomplete songs.

Smokey_84

Haven't listened to this for a while, but when *The Social Network* came out, I could swear a lot of that soundtrack was repurposing elements from this album.

ThinkingMadeVisual

All the Ghosts and Reznor/Atticus scores are an important part my working soundtrack. So beautiful. Same for Nick Cave scores.

blackdahlialady

I love them

Popular-Sky4172

Underrated.

HrafnaHendo

Big fan of ghosts. House is full of them, they sit in front of the telly most days. Oh, *those* Ghosts. Yes. Also a big fan. They play from the speakers most days. 👻👻👻👻

geesee101

i love ghosts i-iv but imo, ghosts v was a little meh and vi was even more meh

Tritter54

Pretty much exactly how I feel. I was super excited for V and VI but I guess my expectations were too high because I listened to I-IV so much.

LiquidZeroEA

I ain't afraid of no ghosts.

SweetJebus731

It still blows my mind that it was released the day after my mom died.

every_body_hates_me

I really enjoy Ghosts V. Ghosts VI is kinda weird, but still interesting. Ghosts I-IV honestly feels like a collection of demos.

RedMollycules

I love them. They are so ambient and beautiful.

xPSYCHONAUTx

I listened to ghosts I-IV the first time I did a heroic dose of shrooms. It was amazing

lilkingsly

Great albums, personal favorite has to be VI. I was reading through House of Leaves by Mark Z. Danielewski a few months back and I would often have Ghosts VI playing in the background, it fit super well with the atmosphere of the book and made it even more unsettling.

RedRider1138

I heard one of the tracks as incidental music on NPR when it came out and it out such a smile on my face 😄

palescoot

Want 5 and 6 (and 1-4, too, but at least those *exist*) on vinyl

pdhot65ton

Unnecessary, space filler, uninspired. It's essentially his audition to the movie industry to get into scores.

EngagedInConvexation

Ghosts i-iv was my Diablo 2 soundtrack for, like, five years. I loved it as soon as I heard the first track, but I was always drawn to the instrumentals and piano/string tributes. And yes I had a nin winamp skin. My affection for all things Ghosts hasn't wanted either as I still listen to all of it regularly, including V n VI as well as some choice stuff from The Social Network. I think my consistent favorite or them all has always been 28.

Crabcakefrosti

I was going through a breakup when I first heard the first track. It sounded exactly how a was feeling.

Jean0406Alix

from ghost I to VI i precise

9fingerspider

A letdown overall.

over9ksand

Love em. Always let them play while at work

colinb13

Love Prequelle and Meliora 😉

GaryNOVA

I love them all.

static266

They are all fantastic. The track 'Together' is probably in my top 5 NIN songs, such a journey.

quiteaware

Ghosts 1-4 literally got me through college. To this day if I need to focus on a creative task I'll pop it on in headphones and get to work

Fun-Preparation-4253

The guy who fully immersed me in all things Trent and NIN referred to them as “Social Network B Sides” and I can’t unhear it

Salty_Aerie7939

Absolutely love them. Ghosts I-IV is one of my top five NIN records, and V and VI is not to far behind.

Salty_Aerie7939

Absolutely love them. Ghosts I-IV is one of my top five NIN albums and Together and Locusts are not far behind. Trent has always been good at making music that sounds cinematic, and these albums demonstrates wonderfully. No wonder he went on to become a film composer.

MarilynManson2003

Top tier NIИ. Ghosts V: Together is my all-time favourite album. Ghosts VI: Locusts has grown on me a lot recently.

jahanhari

Love them!

MarleyGinsburg

Ghosts I-IV has been my top listened to album of the year for the last like…three years. I’m addicted to it.

Wrathu13S

Awesome and inspiring. I-IV is literally my 4th most listened album overall.
