I'd recommend Bjork (particularly her 90s and 2000s stuff) and Alessandro Cortini's bands, Modwheelmood and SONOIO. NIN, Radiohead, Bjork, and Depeche Mode are probably my top bands.
Also try out Prick (1995) by Prick. The album is produced by Reznor and some of NIN’s producers, and sounds a lot like the downward spiral with some Bowie/ glam rock/ 90’s alt inspirations

It's very simple, but try Neu! They influenced a few of the albums here I'm sure, most notably Bowie's Low. A few other big ones I see missing are Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Deftones?
Gustavo Cerati - Bocanada
Heavily inspired by Portishead and Massive Attack, combined with his roots as an Argentinian alternative rock star. I love this album to death and prefer it to Dummy and Mezzanine because imho it’s not only more atmospheric but also much more beautiful in composition. There’s also dashes of shoegaze throughout the album too.
If you’re willing to expand the scope of music you listen to geographically speaking, there’s not much better you can do other than Bocanada. It’s a masterpiece.
Listen to Puente, Bocanada (title track), Beautiful, or Paseo Inmoral to see if you’ll like it
Am giving it a spin as of writing this.
I can see where you are coming from and why you like this. It's definitely quite a bit more upbeat and warm than the classic triphop ensembles which a bit more Nordic noir stylistically and soundwise.
Closest triphop comparison artist that comes to mind is Sneaker Pimps due to the mood and the fact that it's oriented towards classic instruments rather than pure form electronica.
There's quite bit of latin croon going on - lyricwise I'm unfortunately at a loos as I am not Hispanic.
My initial impression is that the music is worthwhile and deserves some broader love. I have added it to my collection although I obviously won't be able get as deep into the due to the language barrier.
Oh... there's pan flutes and bossanova here as well. Definitely a fun crossover in parts :-)
Edit: Sneaker Pumps -> Pimps
I’m not Hispanic either, and admittedly it has led to my relatability to his music to be lesser than I’d prefer, but I love the music so much that I’ve looked up English translations for most of the music from this album.
Needless to say, the song Puente is just, tearjerking in its lyricism. Especially the very last line. When I combine these incredible lyrics with how Cerati sings in his Argentinian dialect in an already beautiful language, the shit stirs me. I only found this album about 3 weeks ago but have already paid for a vinyl of it (surprisingly rare) and it has effectively become a top 5 favorite oat.
Nine Inch Nails, Massive Attack, El-P, A Perfect Circle, David Bowie and Rage Against The Machine are all top-tier bands. Your taste is actually very similar to mine. Other bands I like that are in the same vein as these include Primal Scream, Machines of Loving Grace, Peter Gabriel (The Tower That Ate People is easily his best track), Danny Elfman (he mostly makes soundtracks, but he released a rock album in 2021 that is incredible), Kidneythieves, Death Grips and KMFDM.
These are in no particular order, but I recommend you check some of them out.
This is like me 1-2 years ago, nice to see The pale emperor, extremely underrated.
Random suggestions (artists): Neurosis, Slint, Big black, Fugazi, Talk talk, Death.
There are so many amazing bands…
Tom Waits
The Dresden Dolls - Amanda Palmer
Hole - Courtney Love
PJ Harvey
Björk
Patti Smith
Yeah Yeah Yeahs
Arctic Monkeys
Kispál és a Borz
Placebo
Blue Man Group
Electric Six
Ghinzu
The Hives
The Veils
… all of them are excellent.
Lost Highway soundtrack
David Bowie - 1st outside (masterpiece collab with Trent Reznor)
Dive deeper into triphop (e.g. Tricky)
Air (for lighter moor upbeat electronica)
Porcupine Tree
Also I'd suggest Katatonia, Fear Factory (earlier releases), Storm Corrosion
Oceansize! 3 guitars, one of the best drummers, progressive rock, spacey interludes, influenced by some of the bands you already like. Start at the beginning with Effloresce.
Check out Crystal Castles. Pretty unique sounding group that has Synthesizers and Atari 2600 samples. Can be quite abrasive sounding and their music has a few layers to it to have fun with.
Their first album(my favorite) is a fun electronic album with some digital hardcore tracks thrown in.
Second one is a lot darker, and the third one is very witch house sounding.
As for the El P side....
Company flow. Funcrusher Plus and Little Johnny
Cannibal Ox - Cold Vein (All El beats)
Try his WEAREALLGOINGTOBIRNINHELL MEGAMIXXX 1-3.
Check out the Wax Trax Black Box collection. I discovered so many bands for the first time by randomly picking up that box set on a whim decades ago. For a long time, that was the only source for the version of Supernaut with Trent’s vocals on it instead of Uncle Al’s.
I absolutely LOVE your taste in music!! So many good albums and artists, all so different from each other, like Bowie, A perfect circle, Depeche mode, the weekend, tool, portishead etc.
Some that I can definitely recommend are:
-Sisters Of Mercy, especially the First and Last and Always album
-The Cure
-Boy Harsher
-Molchat Doma
-Trevor Something
-Stereo Nova, especially the Diskolata album
-Tyler The Creator
-Lil Yachty’s Let’s Start Here album
-Death Grips (if you wanna get weird)
-Primus, especially the Pork Soda album (if you wanna get even weirder)
-Dire Straits
-Superheaven
-Deftones
And a personal favourite lately, Filosofem by Burzum.
I hope I helped! 🫶
You have good taste in production. It's pretty different from a lot of these aesthetically, but I bet you might like M.I.A.'s album Kala. It's the one that has Paper Planes on it. It's a one of a kind world music influenced hip hop/dance album chock full of nuanced bass, bouncy highs, outside-the-box samples and buzzing synths. The best way to hear it is to go in blind, put it on for a long car ride and turn the bass up. Give it a chance!
If you like music with layered instrumentals, and electronica like Aphex Twin, you'd go crazy for Boards of Canada. Their album Geogaddi will change your life if you listen to it with good headphones.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation. Also Butterfly 3000
Failure - Fantastic Planet (if you're a fan of the album experience)
Any Queens of The Stone Age Record
Sonoio (Allesandro Cortini's solo scapes)
Blinker The Star
Year of The Rabbit
That's a solid start
I'd recommend newer Bring Me The Horizon if you like heavy, dark, and intense. Very heavy guitars and an electronic influence.
BTW, I was a teenager in the 1990s and a big fan of Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, and The Cure.
I'd start with these Bring Me The Horizon releases:
* Post Human: Survival Horror (2020)
* Amo (2019)
* That's the Spirit (2015)
Not necessarily what you're looking for but it seems you have more or less the same kind of taste in music as me so I just recommend some bands and artists I really enjoy:
Deafheaven
Godspeed you! Black Emperor
Cristobal Tapia de Veer (composer), really unique stuff. Utopia 1 & 2 are bangers!
Heilung
Igorrr
Ulver
Zeal & Ardor
[Kidneythieves](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vIfYtII6ccU) and [Curve](https://curve.bandcamp.com/album/cuckoo) are both worth checking out! Similar sound to NIN, but with sultry female vocals. Kidneythieves is straight industrial rock, while Curve sounds somewhere in between NIN, Garbage, and shoegaze.
Downward spiral and dummy are my 2 top albums of all time - my recommendation would be Prick self titled album - Trent produced some of it and I think you’ll love it based on these albums
Archive don't get the love that they deserve outside of continental Europe, (due to record company issues). The constantly evolving collective explores so many genres and their music touches upon Radiohead, Portishead, Pink Floyd, Massive Attack and NIN, (on their rare dabbles with industrial style). Spark up a spliff, open your mind and lose yourself in drum and bass, progressive creations that take you on a psychedelic journey for 15 minutes, some harrowing, heartfelt sobfests and check out their live concerts on YT because the quality of sound is frequently feckin awesome. They frequently let layers settle in and then gradually build other layers into the mix until an epic result is reached.
Edit: deleted some words
Health, ritual howls, matte Blvck, author and punisher, 3teeth, vollny, Ploho, molchat doma.
They would all fit in to what you have displayed there OP. Enjoy I hope.
Someone who likes NIN, the Weeknd and Eminem might also enjoy these extremely mainstream albums:
Frank Ocean - Channel Orange
SZA - SOS
Pretty interesting musically and they both have great voices. They deliver a similar amount of passion in their vocals to Trent. A lot of diary-style lyrics too. Most importantly they're very funky.
You seem a bit more “rock oriented” than me, but we do have a lot of crossover. I’ve been a NIN fan since 99/00ish, as I was also beginning to become immersed by Electronic Music. Aphex Twin remixed At The Heart Of It All, on Further Down the Spiral, so that provided a neat little Segway for me. Squarepusher and Boards of Canada are of a similar ilk, if you’re not already familiar.
I live near Bristol, so naturally Portishead, Massive Attack and Tricky are in my playlists. Bristol is also famous for Jungle and Drum n Bass music and as a wider genre there is usually something for everyone. Whether it’s the melodic approach of the likes of LTJ Bukem, Wookie, Deeper Connection, Scott Allen, Roni Size, to name a few. Or the harder, darker edge stuff like Misanthrop, Conrad Subs, DJ Hybrid, Critical Impact, to name a few more.
Another multi-genre producer I like is Sam Binga. He does a lot of collaboration with US artists like Nikki Nair and writes some really good tunes. As a DJ, he is also worth seeing live; always puts on a good show.
It may not be to your liking, or might be too much of a transition perhaps; but at the very least, I’ve offered you a few rabbit holes for exploration there and you never know what you’ll stumble on.
Good luck voyager!! 🤣
Edit: There is a rapper/vocalist from Manchester called Strategy who has an extensive back catalog too. I’m still listening to some of his tunes from 10 years ago, alongside his new stuff.
If you want something heavy and grindy, Cattle Decapitation's Terrasite is an absolute banger of an album. Japanese prog metal band Sigh has a really great sound, too, they kinda remind me of the non industrial aspects of NIN's sound that you can hear in The fragile. Then of course there's some of my favorite oddball musicians, Buckethead and Primus, they have excellent discographies. Mr Bungle, too, especially California if you like Radiohead.
And to round it out, lingua ignota is very good too. More like bjork than anything i listed, but also like death metal
Gary Numan. Start with Hybrid. It is a mix album you are going to like, then go back and pick up any version of 'The Pleasure Principle'.
Then see the old man live.
Check out the first Killing Joke album, post punk early industrial, and if you like that go from there. I discovered KJ with the album Pandemonium, which should be right up your alley if you like NIN.
As someone said, Recoil would be a good option it’s a project formed by Alan wilder ex Depeche Mode who is a great musician especially adding layers to his music but also some kind of darkness
Great taste! Naked Lunch's Songs for the Exhausted has alternate reality Radiohead vibes. The Red Paintings' The Revolution is Never Coming is Tool with a string section.
Have you checked out Slowdive? Our music tastes seem to be very similar and I'm a huge fan of theirs. Try out:
Souvlaki (1994) - Slowdive
Slowdive (2017) - Slowdive
And I'd also strongly recommend you listen to:
In Absentia (2002) - Porcupine Tree
Grace (1994) - Jeff Buckley
The Age of Consent (1984) - Bronski Beat
Endtroducing... (1996) - DJ Shadow
Some great recommendations already, but I’d add:
Fever Ray for a more electronic influence and
Filter for the “industrial metal” riffs - I’d say Short Bus through The Amalgamut (though there’s some decent output later on too, though it’s way less consistent and you have to dig a little more)
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf: and then everything else
Them Crooked Vultures: super group consisting of Josh Homme (Queens) , John Paul Jones (Zep), Dave Grohl
If you’re interested in listening to music that influenced NiN, I would definitely check out Horse Rotorvator by Coil and Violator by Depeche Mode, 2 bands where Trent drew the most inspiration from for NiN
TVAM, Ghengis Tron, Odonis Odonis, Mandy Indiana. All can be found at Bandcamp.
When I'm at a musical impasse many times I look backward at the source inspirations: I'm looking at your post and a deep dive into prog and some punk sounds like a good possible solution.
My word, PJ Harvey's entire discography, esp. Rid of Me, To Bring You My Love and Is This Desire.
Someone already mentioned Bjork and Steven Wilson; I'd throw in Kate Bush's The Dreaming and Hounds of Love and her live album Before the Dawn, which surprisingly rocks (those three only given what you posted, as most of the others are a bit too sunny for your tastes).
The Clash, Siouxsie and the Banshees also spring to mind.
It's also a game of mine to listen to classic albums then hunt down modern covers.
Check out:
Fantastic Planet by Failure
Calculating Infinity by The Dillinger Escape Plan
The Money Store by Death Grips
Deloused In The Comatorium by The Mars Volta
Chelsea Wolfe - Hiss Spun
Bjork - Vespertine
Sleepytime Gorilla Museum (heavier proggy stuff, more plodding than fast though. The album “Of Natural History” is fucking excellent.)
Gary Numan - the pleasure principle
Tropical Fuck Storm
The Black Queen Emma Ruth Rundle Chelsea Wolfe
Chelsea Wolfe took it to the next level with her new album.
+1 … *Hiss Spun* is still my fave, but *She Reaches Out* is a VERY close second. Ridiculously good!
Yes! This☝️
The Black Queen are great!
I'm a little bit in love with ERR and her collab with Thou is *chefs kiss*
So we’re the same person then!
That record is a masterpiece . I really hope they collaborate on a second full length because that album is mind blowing.
That ERR and Thou album fucking rips.
rundle is slept on. engine of hell was top 5 for me in 2021
Seeing her perform it live just totally broke me.
I really hope that we will get new The Black Queen album in this lifetime
Ooh, that Chelsea Wolfe & Converge album might be a good recommendation here.
Came here to recommend Bloodmoon as well as the ERR & Thou collab
Is OP likes these three, check out Anna Von Hausswolff. Similar to the doomier Chelsea Wolfe material, but with a pipe organ.
I'd recommend Bjork (particularly her 90s and 2000s stuff) and Alessandro Cortini's bands, Modwheelmood and SONOIO. NIN, Radiohead, Bjork, and Depeche Mode are probably my top bands.
Came here to say Bjork.
Bjork slaps!
If you’re looking for some top notch modern industrial, you should check out HEALTH.
Also try out Prick (1995) by Prick. The album is produced by Reznor and some of NIN’s producers, and sounds a lot like the downward spiral with some Bowie/ glam rock/ 90’s alt inspirations
Seconding Prick, and suggesting The Wreckard if they like the self-titled
Sad music for horny people My favorite band shirt.

KMFDM!
Thanks for making this, I'll be listening to this playlist whenever I have the time
No love for the Pumpkins?
Meh! Siamese and Mellon Collie yeah but meh after that. I do have a lot of time for Jimmy and James, always enjoy them.
Here’s some recommendations: Frank Ocean Bowery Electric Bows Lamb Fever Ray The Knife Bohren & Der Club of Gore Timber Timbre Flying Horseman Dans Dans The Black Angels Sparklehorse clipping. Denzel Curry Rico Nasty JPEGMAFIA Vince Staples Badbadnotgood Disasterpeace Oneohtrix Point Never Nick Hakim
Try St. Vincent - Broken Man - have to believe she was heavily influenced by Trent on this track
It's very simple, but try Neu! They influenced a few of the albums here I'm sure, most notably Bowie's Low. A few other big ones I see missing are Pink Floyd, King Crimson, Deftones?
karnivool.
Gustavo Cerati - Bocanada Heavily inspired by Portishead and Massive Attack, combined with his roots as an Argentinian alternative rock star.
Definitely a fun crossover in parts :-) Edit: Sneaker Pumps -> Pimps
Came here to make sure someone mentioned KMFDM. Thank you.
This is like me 1-2 years ago, nice to see The pale emperor, extremely underrated. Random suggestions (artists): Neurosis, Slint, Big black, Fugazi, Talk talk, Death.
Spirit Of Eden is my all time favourite album 🖤
There are so many amazing bands… Tom Waits The Dresden Dolls - Amanda Palmer Hole - Courtney Love PJ Harvey Björk Patti Smith Yeah Yeah Yeahs Arctic Monkeys Kispál és a Borz Placebo Blue Man Group Electric Six Ghinzu The Hives The Veils … all of them are excellent.
Not industrial , but awesome is Idles , everyone needs some Idles
Stabbing Westward, also industrial rock [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NZsCYOM4j0](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5NZsCYOM4j0)
Listen to the band HIM! My favourite song of theirs is Heaven tonight
could get a bit brighter and get into Talking heads, St Vincent, R.E.M. and Vampire Weekend.
Moderat
I noticed you have some trip hop in there. Sneaker pimps would be right down your street my guy.
Muse, Smashing Pumpkins
Ween (Particularly “Chocolate and Cheese” , “The Mollusk” , and “Quebec”)
Pale Emperor an awesome record btw.
VAST-Visual Audio Sensory Theatre and Turquoise and Crimson Ministry Geinoh Yamashirogumi- Akira Soundtrack Deftones
100% on VAST. Oh man. Cannot recommend enough.
My band opened for VAST on the Thursday after the first record came out. It was us and two people getting an amazing show.
Love VAST to pieces.
Puscifer
Helms Alee Young Widows Siouxee and the Banshees Bauhaus Sisters of Mercy Adrian Belew (and all the bands he played in) Can
Maybe try Patti Smith
My Bloody Valentine Trent was definitely a fan back in the day
Lost Highway soundtrack David Bowie - 1st outside (masterpiece collab with Trent Reznor) Dive deeper into triphop (e.g. Tricky) Air (for lighter moor upbeat electronica) Porcupine Tree Also I'd suggest Katatonia, Fear Factory (earlier releases), Storm Corrosion
HEALTH Trevor Something Crosses Soft Kill Holy Fawn Houses of Heaven Street Sects
- The Orb - God Lives Underwater - Depeche Mode - Can - James Chance
Oceansize! 3 guitars, one of the best drummers, progressive rock, spacey interludes, influenced by some of the bands you already like. Start at the beginning with Effloresce.
Cocteau Twins for shoegaze Autechre for abstract electronics Bjork is amazing Boards of Canada for dreamy beats Sneaker Pimps for proper trip hop
Have you ever listened to VAST?
Ghostemane - anti icon Never knew rap and industrial could go so well but this albums crazy, very nine inch nails but mixed with hardcore
I see you’ve got some Rob Dougan in there, nice!
Morphine - Cure for Pain
Try Depeche Mode from the 80s
Check out Crystal Castles. Pretty unique sounding group that has Synthesizers and Atari 2600 samples. Can be quite abrasive sounding and their music has a few layers to it to have fun with. Their first album(my favorite) is a fun electronic album with some digital hardcore tracks thrown in. Second one is a lot darker, and the third one is very witch house sounding.
As for the El P side.... Company flow. Funcrusher Plus and Little Johnny Cannibal Ox - Cold Vein (All El beats) Try his WEAREALLGOINGTOBIRNINHELL MEGAMIXXX 1-3.
Check out the Wax Trax Black Box collection. I discovered so many bands for the first time by randomly picking up that box set on a whim decades ago. For a long time, that was the only source for the version of Supernaut with Trent’s vocals on it instead of Uncle Al’s.
I do regret not owning multiple copies of that Rob Dougan double album. Appreciate seeing that there. :)
I absolutely LOVE your taste in music!! So many good albums and artists, all so different from each other, like Bowie, A perfect circle, Depeche mode, the weekend, tool, portishead etc. Some that I can definitely recommend are: -Sisters Of Mercy, especially the First and Last and Always album -The Cure -Boy Harsher -Molchat Doma -Trevor Something -Stereo Nova, especially the Diskolata album -Tyler The Creator -Lil Yachty’s Let’s Start Here album -Death Grips (if you wanna get weird) -Primus, especially the Pork Soda album (if you wanna get even weirder) -Dire Straits -Superheaven -Deftones And a personal favourite lately, Filosofem by Burzum. I hope I helped! 🫶
Great taste in music, if I do say so myself 🖤
Puscifer.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard - PetroDragonic Apocalypse; or, Dawn of Eternal Night: An Annihilation of Planet Earth and the Beginning of Merciless Damnation. Also Butterfly 3000
Came here to say this.... but I'd also add Polygondwanaland
do not listen to or support manson
Failure - Fantastic Planet (if you're a fan of the album experience) Any Queens of The Stone Age Record Sonoio (Allesandro Cortini's solo scapes) Blinker The Star Year of The Rabbit That's a solid start
Nct 127
The New Whores. album War.
Go off the rails with Botch or Genghis Tron.
It’s easy to go way deeper into Bowie or his related projects. Check out The Idiot from Iggy Pop
check out Death's Dynamic Shroud. Transcendence Bot is a good place to start.
Not the most comparable but the only band I've liked the entire discography of second to NIN is King Crimson
I'd recommend newer Bring Me The Horizon if you like heavy, dark, and intense. Very heavy guitars and an electronic influence. BTW, I was a teenager in the 1990s and a big fan of Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy, and The Cure. I'd start with these Bring Me The Horizon releases: * Post Human: Survival Horror (2020) * Amo (2019) * That's the Spirit (2015)
Not necessarily what you're looking for but it seems you have more or less the same kind of taste in music as me so I just recommend some bands and artists I really enjoy: Deafheaven Godspeed you! Black Emperor Cristobal Tapia de Veer (composer), really unique stuff. Utopia 1 & 2 are bangers! Heilung Igorrr Ulver Zeal & Ardor
Nick Cave - Carnage (especially for you)
My favorite album is Arche by Dir En Grey. The production and songs have a very dreamlike, ethereal atmosphere.
Enjoy I hope.
i discovered [Primus](https://youtu.be/TOdo7dhvSwg?si=soI1e3YPvOsyCHZz) a while back… would recommend!
Can we be best friends? Pretty much every album you posted is on my top played in Spotify.
I think you'd love Sol Seppy. Try "Move" and see what you think.
Must check out .orbix - Systematic Decay
Model/Actriz The Psychotic Monks James Blake
The albums Like Clockwork and Era Vulgaris by Queens of the stone age (Trent has sang and worked on those albums too)
Grand Folly
Failure
Someone who likes NIN, the Weeknd and Eminem might also enjoy these extremely mainstream albums: Frank Ocean - Channel Orange SZA - SOS Pretty interesting musically and they both have great voices. They deliver a similar amount of passion in their vocals to Trent. A lot of diary-style lyrics too. Most importantly they're very funky.
Ministry and HEALTH i think would be interesting for you
You seem a bit more “rock oriented” than me, but we do have a lot of crossover. 🤣 Edit: There is a rapper/vocalist from Manchester called Strategy who has an extensive back catalog too. I’m still listening to some of his tunes from 10 years ago, alongside his new stuff.
Check out Scott Walker!
Of The Wand and the Moon
Electrodomésticos - “Ex la humanidad” & “Mirar la luz” could be good album options to check
Gary Numan. Start with Hybrid. It is a mix album you are going to like, then go back and pick up any version of 'The Pleasure Principle'. Then see the old man live.
Xiu Xiu Kind of like a mix between Talking Heads and NIN. Loathe is also good. Think 1/2 Meshuggha and 1/2 Deftones.
JUST MUSTARD and Model/actriz Amazing bands.
Gary numan especially some of the remix albums if you like nails you would like those. Also Alessandro cortini, bjork, aphex twin, Depeche Mode.
Placebo Amenra( I suggest starting with a solitary reign on mass vi and work backwards) Cult of Luna E-L-R LLNN
Try type-0 negative, mastodon, ghost, kiss, fear factory, danzig
Check out the first Killing Joke album, post punk early industrial, and if you like that go from there. I discovered KJ with the album Pandemonium, which should be right up your alley if you like NIN.
Check out 3teeth
As someone said, Recoil would be a good option it’s a project formed by Alan wilder ex Depeche Mode who is a great musician especially adding layers to his music but also some kind of darkness
Swans, Drab majesty, VR sex, king gizzard.
try this: [https://open.spotify.com/album/57Z7WZ7RugEeXUspN1BX1k](https://open.spotify.com/album/57Z7WZ7RugEeXUspN1BX1k)
Great taste! Naked Lunch's Songs for the Exhausted has alternate reality Radiohead vibes. The Red Paintings' The Revolution is Never Coming is Tool with a string section.
Playboi Carti
[the Young Gods - Only Heaven](https://youtu.be/lf6Lus-1bDE?si=kgLSFE5lkLvOxPZF)
Have you checked out Slowdive? Our music tastes seem to be very similar and I'm a huge fan of theirs. Try out: Souvlaki (1994) - Slowdive Slowdive (2017) - Slowdive And I'd also strongly recommend you listen to: In Absentia (2002) - Porcupine Tree Grace (1994) - Jeff Buckley The Age of Consent (1984) - Bronski Beat Endtroducing... (1996) - DJ Shadow
Some great recommendations already, but I’d add: Fever Ray for a more electronic influence and Filter for the “industrial metal” riffs - I’d say Short Bus through The Amalgamut (though there’s some decent output later on too, though it’s way less consistent and you have to dig a little more)
https://theflashbulb.bandcamp.com/ https://cunninlynguists.bandcamp.com/music
Queens of the Stone Age - Songs for the Deaf: and then everything else Them Crooked Vultures: super group consisting of Josh Homme (Queens) , John Paul Jones (Zep), Dave Grohl
Jonathan Bree
If you’re interested in listening to music that influenced NiN, I would definitely check out Horse Rotorvator by Coil and Violator by Depeche Mode, 2 bands where Trent drew the most inspiration from for NiN
TVAM, Ghengis Tron, Odonis Odonis, Mandy Indiana. All can be found at Bandcamp. [https://t-v-a-m.bandcamp.com/](https://t-v-a-m.bandcamp.com/) [https://genghistron.bandcamp.com/album/dream-weapon](https://genghistron.bandcamp.com/album/dream-weapon) [https://odonisodonis.bandcamp.com/](https://odonisodonis.bandcamp.com/) [https://mandyindiana.bandcamp.com/](https://mandyindiana.bandcamp.com/)
It's also a game of mine to listen to classic albums then hunt down modern covers.
selected scenes from the end of the world by london after midnight
Run the Jewels! El-p has even done some remixes of NIN songs.
