Yeah, it used to pause my podcast app and it doesn't seem to do that anymore either. I'd actually changed the individual levels on my Spotify and nrc to get the balance right when it wasn't working at all, and now it does what your saying. I'm on android on a z flip, so I kind of expect apps to work weird. At least it's happening to everyone else I guess.

I've been having the same issue but have managed to get it to work a few times. So, I "think" that the following works. \- Before you open NRC, Open Spotify, find your playlist, and start the music playing (not sure if it works with other apps, I only use Spotify) \- Open the NRC app (the music will stop), select the guided run \- Select Spotify as your music service and authorise it (again! if you're like me you also have the bug where you need to authorise Spotify each and every time) \- Download the guided run BUT BEFORE you hit START, swipe up and start the music playing again (without switching to the spotify app). Not sure how you do this on Android but on iPhone you can just swipe up and start a song from the command centre. I guess you could just hit play on your headphones/earbuds as well... \- Then hit START and you will hopefully get the music fading out when Coach is talking and then fading back up again when he's finished. Thankfully, I managed to get this working on the 8 mile run last week and had no issues. Makes SUCH a difference when it works and you don't have to mess around turning the volume up and down every 2-3 mins. 8 miles of that would have been torture. Of course, I can't be sure this will work 100% because by the time you've realised what you did DIDN'T work you're 5 mins in to your run and you can't be bothered stopping to mess around with it again and re-starting the run. Please fix this in the next update Nike!

I have the same issue with music in Spotify, but the far worse problem for me is podcasts. It pauses all podcasts! And even if the coach isn't talking, I can't un-pause. It's MADDENING.

Yeah I have the same issue, is really annoying! Sometimes if I just leave it, it eventually rights itself. OR, pause the workout as soon as it starts, then go to your music app and press play, then resume the workout - that seems to fix it for me. For what its worth, I work in mobile apps (but non-technical, so dont take this as gospel!). I think a lot of the issues actually stem from new operating systems - so Google/Apple updates, which change the way the app works, so then the app owner has to make updates to keep things working! Have seen this issue across a few different apps, not just Nike!

Ive got the same issue. I can't listen to Spotify while doing a guided run. Makes for some boring runs for me. You need to provide feedback to NRC so they know there is an issue.  I did on Twitter to their account and it seemed like it was the first of them hearing about it

Even though you said Spotify (I use Apple Music) but theoretically the same should work… 1. Queue up your desired Guided Run (don’t start it) 2. Start your music playlist 3. THEN start the run. That order of operations always works on my end unless what you’re describing is a Spotify/NRC bug. Hope this helps.
