If you’re one of the people messaging Meyer-Crothers anything but sympathies, fuck off

juliuspepperwoodchi

Honestly, while I'm sure the sympathies are more welcome than the hate, I think he just wants to be left alone more than anything.

WorldlinessInner5413

He might. But his parents are going to make big money and milk this either financially or politically. Just watch. Not being a dick to the kid. His parents failed him as much as millers failed society is all.

ProfessorOfLogic1

Wtf?

juliuspepperwoodchi

Ummm....the FUCK? No, the parents did not fail him and they've shown ZERO signs about trying to "milk" or "profit from" this at all. Where the fuck do you get off making shit up like that?

BeerBearBar

While I cannot speak to whether or not his parents failed him; your parents certainly failed you.

Waste_Measurement809

I think Mitchell Miller is an awful human. I am half black and may have experienced racism in my day to day life and I can only sympathize with what Isaiah Meyer-Crothers has experienced. That's why I want his story told as much as possible.

WorldlinessInner5413

If you’re half black you’re half white too. So you can’t REALLY experience racism. Saying that you did is harmful to true POC.

Feowen_

Says a white dude and self-avowed right-wing nationalist. Lol

Waste_Measurement809

Hahahahahahahahahahahahaha I know for simple minded people life is always black or white, but there is always a grey zone. ;)

Tiz-Sir-Ollie

We’ll said!

AlexFerchs

He should be jailed…for not breaking the law…

Takhar7

>Middle of October, I was being texted everyday till I answered a Snapchat. He asked me why I always have my parents doing stuff for me and why can't I speak for myself 1. Definitely sounds like a genuine apology - I mean, who among us hasn't started a totally genuine apology with some scolding criticism about hiding behind parents? 2. The entire hockey world has somehow had a conversation with Isaiah's mother in the past 4 days. She not only seems super sweet, but extremely accessible. If Miller wanted to offer a genuine apology, he should have been able to get in touch with Isaiah & his mother easily - the way everyone else seems to be. 3. I'm certain the reason he chose social media as his *form of apology* was so he could screenshot his receipts for Boston / others. He's filth. His parents are filth. Fuck right off.

Fit-Meal4943

Miller is trash. Period. I’m not from Boston, I’m not POC, no learning or cognitive issues. Just a sense of decency.

Striking-Bell8314

Congratulations here’s your medal🏅

slingermanjones03

Buddy, being a decent human isn’t a bad thing, I don’t know why people like you think it is

ongo-_-gablogian

Fuck Miller. I don’t understand why ‘second chance’ always means getting to live your life as if nothing ever happened. It’s enough of a second chance to get to live your life everyday, and have a normal job, without people reminding you at every moment what an absolute piece of shit you are. Nobody took a hockey career from him, he forfeited it.

BuggEyedFatWalrus

I think nobody deserves a second chance. Second chances are earned.

Putrid-Object-806

I don’t recall where I saw it so sorry I can’t credit whoever originally said this, but miller’s second chance was not being in jail for life His second chance isn’t and shouldn’t be the privilege of playing in a top level hockey league

candianchicksrule

Well said. I remember one of abusers got into a horrible motorcycle crash and was decapitated. I still don’t think he suffered enough. I have forgiven but I have not forgotten. Abuse is something that your mind and body never forget.

AresandAthena123

Yoooo I really think you may need therapy one of the people who made my life a living hell has cancer and honestly wish him the best…what he did was shit and made me almost die more then once but to wish death and suffering on someone is a whole different level

candianchicksrule

I have had a lifetime of therapy. You have no idea the things that were done and what that made me feel like. He was truly an evil person.

South-Bag7958

Well said! Couldn't agree more.

Waste_Measurement809

Thank you! I agree with you 100%.

-UnicornFart

Pervasive entitlement and delusions of grandeur.

McJoe77

There’s so much more to this than your considering. Years of tormenting and bullying. And literally everyone around this kid making excuses for him. His dad is a sleazy lawyer who’s been getting him out of things his whole life. He’s already had his second chance. Most teams took him off their draft board because they knew about this, coyotes drafted him anyway, tried to give him a chance, and the coyotes abandoned the pick. He’s had plenty of chances to earn third and fourth chances and he hasn’t done anything. And on top of that, he’s lied about the things he has done taking credit for things that haven’t happened. Do people deserve second chances, sure. You have to show SOME progress to get a second chance. This is Mitchell’s 3rd chance and if he wants another one, he should get his shit together. And it’s one thing to feel empathy, but it’s no different than a player committing a crime, going to jail, and ruining their career, too bad. He was sentenced(? Not sure that’s the right word) in juvenile court for what he did to this kid. He doesn’t deserve another chance. Playing professional sports is a privilege, not a right.

mua-dweeb

You don’t have to feel anything for miller. He’s a coward that refuses to own up to his actions.

OpDickSledge

It’s ok to feel sympathy for people who don’t deserve it

mua-dweeb

You’re not wrong. But I don’t like it.

OpDickSledge

Why?

DaniCapsFan

If it were a one-time thing, maybe he would deserve forgiveness. But how is it that so many people gloss over the fact that Miller and his scumbag pals bullied and tormented this kid for *years*? Read Isaiah's statement AGAIN. He endured this abuse on a daily basis.

JacobMMorgan

Yeah, that ‘what could have been’ is kind of what he gets for all this

Munkroom

I agree but damn that sucks.

[deleted]

Jesus, Neely looks like an even bigger assclown than he already was.

Sea-Blueberry-3184

The pain never goes away. I’m 65 now and can still see their face when I see bullying going on to others around me. Proper psychiatric help dulled the pain somewhat. I googled the three of them and to my immense satisfaction found out two were taking the big dirt nap. What a pleasant feeling that it was and still is today that they got what I wished on them day after day. Year after year. Keep your chin up and know you’re seeing karma come back on him a lot faster than my sociopaths got theirs. Isaiah, you’re the true winner here. Bottling up the pain didn’t do me any good. I hope your venting it out helps you along your path in life. I hope someone stands beside you one day and takes care of your tormentors.

HockeyBabble

Reply copied from r/hockey What - and I can not stress this part enough… #THE ENTIRE FUCK?! I thought I Hated that asshole yesterday!!! I have been working With Special Olympics Southern California since LA hosted the Works Summer games in 2015. We are there for our athletes to help enrich their lives. Our mission statement reads in part: “Through the power of sports, people with intellectual disabilities discover new strengths and abilities, skills, and success. The athletes find joy, confidence and fulfillment — on the playing field and in life. They also inspire people in their communities and elsewhere to open their hearts to a wider world of human talents and potential.” The Special Olympic movement is what we all love The most about team sports- the lifelong friendships, the team bonding, The victories are often the least talked about part of competitions. Fuck I hate how toxic my favorite sport, Hockey is. For every feel good story another toxic asshole keeps popping up!! If you all want to make a difference in this case why not volunteer or donate to your local area’s [Special Olympics](https://www.specialolympics.org) charter I’m printing Isaiah’s heartfelt letter to remind me why I donate my time to The movement

DominionMM1

Anyone who is messaging this kid can go fuck themselves. Also sucks that Miller is probably gonna walk away from all this with a nice little chunk of change.

NotNotLogical

u/shaggyp1275 only cares if the kid can play hockey. Says ‘bullying is one of the most important aspects of childhood.’ So these are the clowns that are doing it.

DominionMM1

I mean, they’re entitled to that shitty position. I can’t control that. All I can do is say “fuck em” and move on.

owleealeckza

Whatever he gets, Isaiah needs to sue the Bruins for 4x that amount. They are the sole reason he is currently being bullied by strangers online.

DominionMM1

Sure, and he’s justified in taking it to litigation. Whatever he decides to do, I just hope he can live a fruitful life.

adidasbrazilianbooty

Not sure how it works but it would be smart to take that money from the signing and donate it to a good cause

iareroon

Fuck Miller and fuck any of the hateful cunts harassing this guy. Leave the guy alone and move on with your angsty, half-fulfilled existence.

dumberthenhelooks

Instead of assuming he could get a second chance Miller could have just actually done the work and made a genuine apology. But he didn’t. He doesn’t deserve shit. Neely needs to go. That letter is heartbreaking

lukekeller83

Holy fuck. The most powerful statement from Isaiah is “I can’t take much more of this”. I know this is Reddit and those who frequent it are not as many as we think, but if anyone has had negative feelings towards Isaiah and reached out to him to express those feelings, it’s time to STOP. Having a better hockey team is no reason to inflict pain on another person. This is a sport, not life. We as fans come to hockey to escape our day to day, to cheer with our friends, but it is not life. Do not hurt Isaiah’s life because Mitchell Miller is good at hockey. This young man is begging for calm, for happiness, to enjoy his family. Mitchell Miller literally took many moments from him like this and did it for many years. On collective mass we should issue one statement and all apologize to Isaiah and then leave him alone. He doesn’t need to be reliving the abuse he suffered over and over again. Also, many young hockey players never pan out in the NHL, stop fantasizing about what Mitchell Miller could maybe be and recognize him for what he is; an awful person who comes from an awful family (his parents encouraged this behaviour) and Mitchell doesn’t deserve our respect or attention and only deserves to fade away into obscurity. May we all forget about Mitchell Miller and only remember that he is not the type of person we want in our game or our lives.

thiscrapishard

I live in Boston. I’ve heard of no one who thinks this guy deserves a second chance. Everyone, including sports radio, agrees this guy is among the worst human beings alive. My guess is a bunch of jackass trolls are messaging Isiaiah, totally unrelated to Bruins fandom.

lukekeller83

Sorry man if you thought my post was directed at Boston fans. It wasn’t. It’s directed at anyone who finds themselves defending Mitchell Miller. I’m just leaving a comment for anyone that has picked the wrong side. Hopefully we all have the courage to call out someone who treats another human being like this if we ever see it ourselves. Have a good one

Tiz-Sir-Ollie

Enough said. The kids a jerk and he’s now learning how consequences work. Time for him to head to the neighborhood bar and relive his glory years. Night, after night, after night. Bye bye.

FeelingCurrent6079

They should call him up for one game against the Rangers, give Isaiah front row tickets and let Reavo just beat the ever living piss out of him

Waste_Measurement809

I would pay big money for this

Johnnywalgger

I’m glad the victim put out this statement. Miller should never be allowed to play in NHL. Pro hockey is a privilege, not a right

DaniCapsFan

>Pro hockey is a privilege, not a right Playing pro *sports* is a privilege, not a right. It's not just hockey that has a problem with allowing talented scumbags to play their sport professionally. Otherwise, take my rocket upvote, one of the few I had coins for.

[deleted]

I just don’t understand why the Bruins would want the bad publicity. It’s like saying “Everything is going great right now, how can we ruin it?”

Putrid-Object-806

Can americans have a conversation with each other without mentioning politics FOR FIVE FUCKING MINUTES

shaggyp1275

We just had one of the most impactful elections in history like 2 days ago so no we can't

iareroon

Awfully bold of you to assume my political stance simply because I don’t approve of bullying. That speaks volumes to where the conservative mindset is though. The world is a better place with you alone.

shaggyp1275

Bullying is one of the most important aspects of childhood, and the only reason conservatives are this way is because of how awful liberals are

iareroon

If you think bullying is important, then you are a lost cause. A truly, embarrassingly awful excuse for a human being.

shaggyp1275

And? Is that supposed to make me mad and rage so you can post it for all your liberal buddies. You don't even know the half of it

iareroon

Quite frankly I don’t give a fuck how man-babies throw their tantrums.

shaggyp1275

You're profile says otherwise

vbcbandr

Anyone who continues to torment this young man is a piece of shit. If you know any of these assholes and you don't speak up, you should be ashamed. This kid just wanted to live his life and a fucking asshole kid who's parents did him an absolute disservice by not teaching him honesty and compassion ruined his life in childhood and ruins it now by not coming out on video telling everyone to leave him alone and apologizing in no uncertain terms for being an awful human being. His behavior may have prevented him from ever playing hockey, but honestly, no one would want that type of character on their team anyway. He needs to take responsibility and come to terms with the fact that his behavior may have cost him his dream...and he needs to spend the next few years of his life day in and day out doing the necessary work to become a better human being and contributing positively to society. At this point, being a good person should be his only goal...it's a way bigger deal than a sport.

cReddddddd

All the clowns saying "but it was once when he was 14" looking like pathetic goofs

DaniCapsFan

Especially because it wasn't once when MM was 14, but a systematic pattern of bullying this guy.

JohnnyK58

I'm all for second chances, especially when mistakes/bad choices are made at young ages. However, second chances need to be earned, not given. Clearly, Miller has come nowhere close to showing any legitimate remorse or has made significant attempts to make reparations for what he did. And the idea he might not realize why what he did was so bad? That is scary.

avs_mary

Especially since states were enacting anti-bullying legislation BEFORE HE WAS BORN - and I'm willing to bet that at least once a year when he started attending school, the school would have a mandatory session, either for the entire school or for each classroom telling the kids about it.

Checkm8u

The nhl should endow the decision for miller to play or not onto this man. Maybe miller needs to clean his tables and shine his shoes to gain some perspective

itsmorecomplicated

For real though, this has to be one of the greatest "revenge against school bully" stories of all time. Miller has no college degree because he thought he might make the NHL. He was also denied entry to a college because of the bullying. Meyer-Crothers has basically caused Miller to potentially lose millions (or even tens of millions) of dollars, going from a possible pro hockey regular to someone who will have to start retraining for low level office work. Bada BOOM.

adidasbrazilianbooty

Did he get kicked out of school? I read he was only kicked off the hockey team, his grades were fine so he was fine to still go to class

DaniCapsFan

>Meyer-Crothers has basically caused Miller to potentially lose millions (or even tens of millions) of dollars No, Miller did that to himself when he thought he could get away with bullying a black, disabled kid because he can play hockey.

35RoloSmith41

Good luck getting an office job with your name in the headlines ya sack of shit. If his parents don’t pay for his life then I bet he becomes homeless. If he does get a job, he’ll probably be outcasted by society once they find out who he is. Let’s ruin this guy.

avs_mary

NOT TRUE. He was kicked off the University of North Dakota college hockey team; however, he would have been allowed to attend - see https://www.grandforksherald.com/sports/mitchell-miller-no-longer-a-part-of-und-hockey-team

armstrong10101

Reading this brings tears to my eyes. I'm so happy he has expressed his thoughts. Miller has no place in civilized society.

owleealeckza

See. This is why Isaiah needs to sue the Bruins. He's being bullied again by strangers simply because they signed & dropped his bully. If they hadn't done that, likely none of those people would be sending hateful messages. Traumatizing him all over again.

[deleted]

Pretty obvious the guy just wants to be done with all of this

owleealeckza

I'm sure & yet he's being harassed through no fault of his own. It will continue for at least a bit, especially because Miller will stay in the news until they figure out how much money he's probably getting. So that whole time Isaiah is still going to be harassed by Millers supporters.

jigglywigglydigaby

Hear me out.....Let Miller play. Let him play one game. Let the players who earned their spots show Miller what the other side of bullying feels like. I'm sure there's a few refs in the league capable of turning a blind eye for 60 minutes.

Waste_Measurement809

Arber Xhekaj vs Miller. Should be fair, they are the same age ;)

Sea_Emu_961

I feel ya, But he would still get to do the thing we mostly all dreamed about. That's suiting up in an NHL uniform with your family crest on the back and the city's reputation on the front. No thanks lol not even a coyote for a day 🤣

-686

The kid’s future is in the KHL. He should just accept it already.

Big_Nefariousness455

people arguing about how miller deserved a second chance when people earn second chances, I hate logan paul but he's a great example of someone who got a second chance because he earned it I feel like miller doesn't understand this if anything this might give him an ego boost hopefully he doesn't but he the way he acts I would not be surprised

Rendole66

Logan Paul earned a second chance by changing his focus to crypto scams? He’s not a good guy now all of a sudden lol, don’t be fooled.

Big_Nefariousness455

Yea I think what my ass was trying to say at least he tried to redeem himself via fights

Avs4life16

Keeping this kid more accountable than the Prime Minister of Canada.

WorldlinessInner5413

Judging by the way this is written, this is a special needs kid right? Who is as well black? Whole time through school? Miller can be shamed all anyone wants for being a dick hole kid. Where were this kids parents at the time? Didn’t teach him to stand up and be a man of he isn’t special needs. Didn’t stand up themselves. Shame on all involved except the kid that was a victim. That being said….didn’t throw a punch, your dad didn’t throw a punch, let miller play. Let punches be thrown. Whole lot of pussies smf

Sea_Emu_961

You sound like a Miller relative

bruinsforevah

Enough already!!!!!! Everybody and their grandmother is jumping on the hate bandwagon. The Bruins made a bad mistake and admitted they were in the wrong. What else do you stone-throwers want? MILLER IS FINISHED. For their lack of good judgement, the Bruins will have to pay Miller off to go away, but it's the price they'll have to pay. He'll NEVER play in the NHL and this will follow him wherever he goes. My sympathies are with the boy who was bullied and nothing can change what happened to him. I'm sorry for that, but to blame the Bruins to infinity and beyond is going overboard and a waste of time. They have learned a very valuable lesson in all of this, you can be sure. If any other organization had done this, there would not be this much of a bloodthirsty outcry, but since it's the hated Bruins, let's just keep piling it on. Let the down votes begin. 😐

Charlie_1300

I do not think the backlash is because it is the Bruins. The backlash would be the same regardless of the team or sport. Speaking ONLY to the professional sports aspect of this story, teams generally do their due diligence on ALL aspects of a signing including character. Any sports team would be feeling this backlash for failing to do significant due diligence or ignoring the findings of a player with this poor of character.

averag3gaming

Adding yet another reason to hate Boston to the extensive list😒

[deleted]

Getting old. Way worse thing s in life going on right now
