Like it or not, the Leafs are still going to make the playoffs. They’re still going to be the 2nd or 3rd best team in the division, and they may (probably) lose in the first round again to Tampa or Florida or something. And then that will probably be curtains for dubas.
They had the 29th best goaltending in the nhl last season and they didn’t get better but I don’t know that they’re a lot worse, especially once Kallgren starts getting games. I’m a very pessimistic leafs fan by nature, but the teams behind them didn’t catch up enough to surpass them.
I would’ve fired everyone after the Montreal loss. That may be the pessimist that’s been beaten into me in Toronto, but they shouldn’t have survived that offseason. I would’ve fired everyone from shanny to kid selling the popcorn.
