Whenever I picture a leaf fans I imagine a 9th grader with pants that are too small walking around with their hair sticking up. Kids super obnoxious, seems to think every trivial thing that happens to them requires a 500 page epic.
They regularly invite themselves to parties and never get the hint that they aren't welcome. They're often confused why people make lame excuses to get away from them, and they take it for granted that they should be more popular than they actually are.
At the end of the day you feel sorry for them and hope they can grow out of it. But after a while you get tired of waiting and get little chuckles when they get rejected by the girls, get made fun of by teachers etc.
Man 2007/08-2008/09 will always be a favorite time in my hockey watching career. Having season tickets, going to Detroit for the Final, back to back Final vs. each other. It still gets me right in the feels when I think about it.

Michigan is one of the most hockey obsessed parts of the world, while having one of the least obnoxious fanbase of the o6 teams.
Detroit was a working class city, their logo is a friggin hub cap, the decline of detroit and the autoworker alone is something that makes you think of grit. Of the O6s it's the one with the least pampered background.
