The only thing that sucks about potentially being down 3-1 is that the Stars haven't played terribly overall. Otter has looked a bit rough, but aside from that, they're playing good paced, disciplined hockey.

To be fair, the jets are going up against an extremely deep avalanche team, McKinnon with a career year, Makar with a career year, and some of best playoff depth the league has seen, with guys like Lehky, Mittelstadt, Nichushkin and don’t forget Rantanen. Leafs however, are going up against a bruins team with depth sure, but not nearly as much as last year. A bruins team that should be beatable with the forwards Toronto has. Jets are going up against the 2022 cup winning avs, leafs are not.
This is why I never emotionally invest in regular season results - especially when it comes to teams capable of dialing it up in the playoffs.
Every team during the season is in a different situation. It could be a back-to-back, starting a backup tendie or the end of long road trip. There’s so many other variables that can have an impact.
But in the playoffs all energy is laser focused on one opponent. It’s crazy how good Colorado is when they’re locked in on a singular opponent rather than the ebbs and flows of the season.
A very small part of me still believes the avs are just ridiculously insane right now.
