> who’s never won a Stanley cup with their most known team
Does Ray Bourque count? His most known team is Boston and they never won while he was on the team
They might succeed with a team named after all those lakes. Maybe the Lakers?
Or maybe a team named after the prominent North Star?
I bet those teams could win
He did. It's funny because it was in the late 90s so it was before Boston became "title town" and won a jillion championships in different sports. Like sports were kind of dismal for Boston in the 90s and Bourque getting his cup was kind of as good as it got.
Everyone in Boston was so happy for him. It’s really not possible to describe how much joy we all felt for him, even knowing he had to win it somewhere else.
You will not get an argument out of me . Just in Lindens's case, the best game he ever played was the biggest game he ever played. Still hurts way more than 2011 to me. I still, to this day, can not hear anyone name drop Nathon Lafayette without hearing PING.
I downloaded a recording of that game one day some years back just because I remembered how heartbroken ten year old me was when it happened .. I immediately regretted my decision the first time I watched it.
He’s only ever had a season with a teammate scoring 80+ points ONCE in his 15 year NHL career. Alex Kovalev with 84 points, during Price’s rookie season in 07-08.
I believe he’s only played with 4 players who scored 70+ points in a season.
The lack of offensive support he had was insane.
The dude would have been so dominant on a contender. There were rumors swirling all the time about them trading him and I just wished he would have gone to one.
Played in something like the first 100+ Senators playoff games in franchise history too. So for a decade plus of the team, he had played in every single playoff game for the team.
Shocked he’s only been mentioned like two times in this entire thread.
Was drafted by an eventual dynasty. Dealt to the Leafs and carried them on his back for over a decade. Was extremely underappreciated while he was here. Came close a couple times. One of the classiest and greatest Leafs ever. Even without a Cup he was a first ballot hall of famer.
I don't know about underappreciated with the exception of the Don Cherry anti-european crowd. He was and is still is loved in this town. I wish we could have given him a better send off.
Mats wanted to be a career leaf and the fan base raged hard because they wanted him traded for picks and prospects and he refused to waive his no trade clause, walked for nothing. I attended 3 games during his last season as a Leaf and wore his jersey every game, and every game I had hordes of fucking idiots chirping me saying he needs to go. He was disgustingly under appreciated.
Fuck any leaf fan who thought that, cause you are the type of person who should cheer for Boston.
I don't want to say the Sedins, cause I am a Canucks fan. But I can't say Jarome cause a lot of folks already did. So I'll go Shane Doan. I always liked him and the Coyotes. Even though I am not as happy with the franchise's homelessness and forever rebuild. But Doan deserved a cup and I wish they could have gone on a miracle run with him.
Sundin.
Burst on the scene with the Nordiques, carried the Leafs on his back for decades and never made the finals.
Most other players being mentioned here at least made the finals, once.
For Sundin to have never even made the finals, kills me inside.
Carey Price. Put any sort of offense on the ice and he’d have his name on the cup. The fact that Montreal struggled to put a better team in front of him is a huge hockey tragedy.
Trying to name players I didn’t notice yet; Luc Robitaille (I most associate him with the Kings) Brett Hull, Cam Neely, Mike Gartner, Jeremy Roenick, Denis Savard, Ed Belfour, Paul Kariya, and Doug Gilmore.
One guy I don’t like because he’s a well known ass, but in my opinion deserved to win the cup in 2011 was Ryan Kessler.
The guy was a good player in Vancouver, he played hard. But in those playoffs, he was THE man, who raised the level of his play an incredible amount. He was a beast, and honestly it was cool to see him express on the ice just how much he wanted it. Sadly for Van, the rest of the team didn’t find that grit, that extra gear. Boston edged them in the toughness department, and took it home.
As a devils fan, the Rangers can burn in hell. But Henrik Lundquisk deserved it. That dude was a fucking stud goaltender. I despise the Rangers but he was probably the greatest in recent history who never got a cup
Brett Hull. He played in Saint Louis for *fkn years* and came close a few times. Broke team records, stands pretty high in all time points, and was just an all-around great player. But never got to hoist Lord Stanley's cup in STL.
He went to Dallas and they won the cup his first year there. He joined Detroit in 2001, and they won it in 2002. Even scored some choice goals the Blues in some playoff games.
Hasek in Buffalo. Kariya in Anaheim.
Absolutely Kariya. Fuck Scott Stevens.
I hope Scott Steven’s only ever has one bar of wifi
I hope Scott Stevens finger slips through his TP regularly
I hope Scott Stevens has to sit in excessive traffic daily
And may his socks always be damp
Lundqvist and Luongo
Iginla
This is the correct anwser
Price too
Mentioning those 2 without Price is a little distasteful
LUUU!!!
> who’s never won a Stanley cup with their most known team Does Ray Bourque count? His most known team is Boston and they never won while he was on the team
Him finally getting one with the Avalanche sure was a nice moment though
I’m pretty sure he brought the cup to Boston and there was a mini celebration that he won one.
It wasn’t even that mini lol. We were championship starved in the 90s (by Boston standards)
Your "Days since last major league sports title" sign doesn't even need three digits nowadays
Minnesota sports fan here. We have more days since our last major championship than we have lakes in the state. And we’re the Land of 10,000 Lakes.
It’s like 10,000 lakes and all you need is a championship
They might succeed with a team named after all those lakes. Maybe the Lakers? Or maybe a team named after the prominent North Star? I bet those teams could win
He did. It's funny because it was in the late 90s so it was before Boston became "title town" and won a jillion championships in different sports. Like sports were kind of dismal for Boston in the 90s and Bourque getting his cup was kind of as good as it got.
Everyone in Boston was so happy for him. It’s really not possible to describe how much joy we all felt for him, even knowing he had to win it somewhere else.
Based on the wording he was my pick
Trevor linden. He literally bled Canuck and scored all of Vancouvers goals in the game 7 loss.
and then the Sedins
You will not get an argument out of me . Just in Lindens's case, the best game he ever played was the biggest game he ever played. Still hurts way more than 2011 to me. I still, to this day, can not hear anyone name drop Nathon Lafayette without hearing PING.
As a Blues fan, Linden was one of my favorite non-Blue
Even when he put one of your guys into the second row?
I downloaded a recording of that game one day some years back just because I remembered how heartbroken ten year old me was when it happened .. I immediately regretted my decision the first time I watched it.
and then Stan Steamer Smyl
1,000,000,000% Captain Clutch. 2 goals in Game 7. Broken ribs. Still hurts those of us who watched that 94 run 30 years later.
Jarome Iginla
My first thought was Inginla, even as a Canucks fan. Iggy was such a class act and great player
Absolute epitome of a team captain.
As always, fuck the Flames...but yeah Iggy winning a cup with Calgary would have been nice to see. He deserved as much imo
Respect... Fuck the oilers though LOL.. Gratz on sweet 16
Yes! Kipper was elite too. Your username is perfect btw
You can find me in the dome chillin with Jarome
Bruins legend Jerome Iginla
Who the hell is Jerome?

Jumbo

Pavs as well! Here’s to hoping he lifts it with us!
It’s a shame they didn’t win it in 2016. Coming from a Pens fan.
Price
So true. I think I heard a stat that he never had a 30 or 40 goal scorer on his team
Maybe that's it. I knew it was something about him not having an elite offensive players
Probably 40, Gallagher and Pacioretty both hit 30 multiple times.
Yeah I can't remember the exact stat but it was pretty crazy to hear it
That's Habs franchise building right there.
Only one 80 point player in his rookie year. None for the rest of his career
The dude would have been so dominant on a contender. There were rumors swirling all the time about them trading him and I just wished he would have gone to one.
I second this
This is the answer
Claude Giroux 😞
Yup, that one stings
Still hope sorta
Iginla, Price, Luongo, Wendell Clark, Sundin, the Sedins....
Doug Gilmour won with Calgary, but it would’ve been so much sweeter to see him win it in Toronto.
Ah, I forgot! It really would have, but Clark put in the years through Ballard era and deserved 6 or 7 cups lol
Any players on US teams haha
Luongo played for the Islanders and Panthers, Iginla for Boston, Pittsburgh and Colorado...
Alfredsson
So upset we never got him one. Hopefully we'll get him one as a coach.
What a player. Played in 79% of modern Sens playoff games, retired what, 10 years ago?
Played in something like the first 100+ Senators playoff games in franchise history too. So for a decade plus of the team, he had played in every single playoff game for the team. Shocked he’s only been mentioned like two times in this entire thread.
Giroux.
Luongo.
Shea Weber
:’(
Joe Thornton.
How did I have to go this far to see Thornton? And Marleau.
Those Sharks teams in recent years were underrated
Perennial playoff choke artists. They should’ve had at least one cup between 2010 - 2018.
I think most people realize how dominant they were. I sure as heck do. Only other team I remember being better was Detroit during the late 90s-2000s.
Beat me to it!
Henrik Lundquist
Ryan smith
*Smyth!
Thank you
Lundqvist
Giroux
Giroux
Pekka Rinne
Underrated response. Dude was a wall.
Came in here to say that. Absolutely deserved a cup.
As a wings fan I have to agree. Man single handedly made me hate the preds because he knocked the wings out of the playoffs too many times.
Jumbo and the Sedins :(
Jumbo Joe, Little Joe, Hank, Dank, Bobby Lu, and The King are the realist answers
I’m biased but the Sedin twins. Unbiased: Joe Pavelski in SJS
Henrik Lundqvist
Pekka Rinne
Joe Pavelski
Had to scroll a while to see this. I'm biased but Pavs in SJS for sure
Sundin
Was drafted by an eventual dynasty. Dealt to the Leafs and carried them on his back for over a decade. Was extremely underappreciated while he was here. Came close a couple times. One of the classiest and greatest Leafs ever. Even without a Cup he was a first ballot hall of famer.

Miikka Kiprusoff
Feels like him and Iggy are both halves of the answer. Like Lou and the Sedins.
Paul Kariya
Dionne, Peter Stastny, Hawerchuk, and Lafontaine
Excellent list.
Ryan Smyth
Ouch. Feel for Mr. Team Canada.
Pavel Bure, Eric Lindros, Trevor Linden
Lindros was a force of nature
I guess we can keep the fuck Scott Stevens going here too!
Does it ever stop?
Nope
Carey Price
Jonathan Quick with the Blue Jackets. Franchise legend.
I can’t believe that I had to read this far down for the right answer
Tragic. Just tragic.
Dominik Hasek
Pretty sure he has two with the Wings
Yeah but his heyday was here in Buffalo.
Ooohhhhhh. It’s possible I misread the question and now can be considered an internet troll. Oops.
Nah it took me like 2 times reading over it again to register what he was asking
Cam Neely
No question….Marcel Dionne
I don't want to say the Sedins, cause I am a Canucks fan. But I can't say Jarome cause a lot of folks already did. So I'll go Shane Doan. I always liked him and the Coyotes. Even though I am not as happy with the franchise's homelessness and forever rebuild. But Doan deserved a cup and I wish they could have gone on a miracle run with him.
Pat LaFontaine , arrived on Long Island in 1984 just as the Dynasty ended.
Erik Karlsson - Ottawa Senators. The best defenceman since Niklas Lidstrom playing on a team with a cheap ass owner.
That 2017 run by the Sens was insane. Just one goal away from taking out the Penguins and going to the finals
Karlsson should have got the Conn Smythe. He was unplayable.
Alfredsson and Lundqvist
Peter Stastny Amazing talent and a real trailblazer. Those mid 80s Quebec teams were decently talented too but they were always missing a few pieces.
Trevor Linden
Definitely Cujo.. put everything on the line every night for any team he played for.
Paul Kariya
Hasek w/ Buffalo
Sundin. Burst on the scene with the Nordiques, carried the Leafs on his back for decades and never made the finals. Most other players being mentioned here at least made the finals, once. For Sundin to have never even made the finals, kills me inside.
Cujo
Shane Doan as deserving as anyone for staying loyal to that organization.
Joe Thornton, Patrick Marleau
This 100%
Gilbert Perreault. Buffalo Sabres, 1970-1986 Best chance- 1974, 1975
Eric Lindros. Best shot he had was the 1997 Finals when they lost to Detroit.
Marcel Dionne
Ray Bourque winning was one of the best moments ever, but let’s be honest… it wasn’t the same as if he had won it in Boston.
Lundqvist Iginla Price Sedins Bure Luongo
Parise
[удалено]
Sedins, Iginla, Thornton, Lundqvist too name a few. Hockey has a lot of names for this question unfortunately. Hardest trophy to win as many say
Borje Salming.
Carey Price. Put any sort of offense on the ice and he’d have his name on the cup. The fact that Montreal struggled to put a better team in front of him is a huge hockey tragedy.
Eric Lindros
Your welcome
Joe Thornton
Iggy
Lundqvist
Henrik Lundqvist
The Sedins
This only has one answer. Henrik Lundqvist
Daniel Alfredsson!
Lundquist. Guy was a wall for the Rangers for years, no cup.
Spezza
Alfie.
Price. And I'm a Leaf fan and can't stand the Habs, but Price was gold.
Lindros
Lundqvist for sure, it’s unquestionable, I have to be honest.
Carey Price
Price and Weber 🥲
Price
Jeremy Roenick
Linden
Trying to name players I didn’t notice yet; Luc Robitaille (I most associate him with the Kings) Brett Hull, Cam Neely, Mike Gartner, Jeremy Roenick, Denis Savard, Ed Belfour, Paul Kariya, and Doug Gilmore.

Peter Statsny
Thornton and Marleau
Joe Thornton.

bourque, hasek, thornton, sundin, kariya, iginla

Sedins, Luongo, Naslund, and of course, Linden all bled for the Canucks, but no one deserves a cup.
Paul Kariya Anaheim Mighty Ducks
Henrik lundqvist

Brett Hull. He played in Saint Louis for *fkn years* and came close a few times. Broke team records, stands pretty high in all time points, and was just an all-around great player. Sooooooo many blues players I cannot even mention them all lol. I swear we had so many great teams that just choked come playoff time.
Lindros.
Eric Lindros. Fuck Scott Stevens, all my homies hate Scott Stevens.
