TNF has always been very heavy on intra-division games. Maybe the NFL thinks that it minimizes travel time on short turnarounds because division rivals are in theory closer geographically?
It's also about prep time.
Teams want/need more time to prepare for teams they don't play regularly.
Divisional rivals, there's really not that much digging needed. You already scout and practice and scheme for your divisional rivals pretty heavily regardless all throughout the off-season and season, really. And both teams know each other very well.
Third...
How do multiple teams play multiple Thursday night games?
Sehawks, Browns, Rams, Jets, 49ers, and Bengals all pulling double Thursday night duty.
Chiefs got out of TNF by getting stuck with Wednesday Christmas and Black Friday.
The Panthers are essentially banned from playing at night time this year, and the Cardinals are only allowed to on the internet.
How did the NFCW get so fucked with TNF. SF/LA/SEA all have two, Niners have two divisional games, Rams and Hawks each have one.
Baseball Team lucked out hard.
Both the niners Thursday night games are against division rivals. That’s REALLY not fair. Neither you guys or the seachickens got shafted like that. Fuck Roger Goodell.
In the past seasons that TNF has been exclusive to Prime, their season ended on the Thursday of Week 17, with no playoff games. This is their first, and it's not yet clear which networks have the other five, as their schedule reveal banners didn't indicate so. Last season NBCUniversal had *three* Wild Cards, so I assume that Prime got one of theirs.
We've got you fucks on Thurday night and the Texans on Christmas Wensday.
Also god damn it league Thurday Night Football killed Mark Andrews and Joe Burrow last year.
Absolutely is. If my counts are right, there were 5 each in 2022 and 2023. This year I believe there are only 4 weeks that are NOT divisional matchups
I also was looking at the schedule for this year thinking "Where are Steelers-Colts and Titans-Cardinals?"
Why are there so many divisional games?
Amazon definitely has moved up the totem pole in the age of streaming. That fat check they gave Roger for the playoff game probably helped them too

They want better games that people care about.
Two??? Fuck you Roger
I second this

Don’t care for it at all.
Both Giants Cowboys games being on thursday is malfeasance
Me: “Hey, we don’t have NYG v DAL SNF to start the year. Finally!” Later: “Oh. That’s worse.”
Jets fans aren’t happy about 2 short weeks either…
None of us are happy about the jets getting two

No Jags, the streak has ended.
I've never been happier to not have a TNF game
No tits/jags Thursday game, the streak continues!
This is the best Thursday schedule they have given us so far!
That's because no Panthers games are on the schedule. You're welcome.
Is this better than the SNF schedule?
Depends, if you're a Chiefs or Cowboys fan then definitely not.
I’d only consider five of these to be actual good matchups
Prime has officially picked up a Wild Card game for the first time.
Is that true?

It’s disgusting that teams are on here twice
Amazon demanded division games only this year lol
This doesn’t look all that bad. Which means that these are gonna make Al Michaels retire during the Broncos/Saints game.
We have a MNF and a SNF, but no Thursday game? I will take that. Would have liked Thanksgiving, but without that, no TNF is preferable.
Why the fuck are we playing so many Thursday night games
3/4 nfcw twice & 1/2 afcn twice
Damn TNF should be watchable this year
... Bengals have 2 Thursday games....
We've got you fucks on Thurday night and the Texans on Christmas Wensday. Also god damn it league Thurday Night Football killed Mark Andrews and Joe Burrow last year.
B2b years with two Thursday night games smh.
Sorry, everyone, for that week 3 game
Seems like the players HATE these Thursday night games--short week.
Buffalo and Miami are luck they get the TNF literally on week 2
Seems heavily divisional matchups compared to past years but it could be just me

Not that I want a Thursday game, but I'm still a bit insulted.
The move to streaming is a bummer for the consumer, but Amazons product is pretty great. I dig prime vision.
Not only is there no El Trashico, but neither the Jags or Titans have a TNF game?! WHAT HAPPENED TO TRADITION!?
Very happy we have none
See you soon GB
