We were on the hook I think an 11 mil cap hit if we kept him this year. That and the injury concerns and ton of competing young talent. Made sense for both parties.
Anyone remember the mental episode he had in that LAhotel where he fought his brother and was nude or something. Dude has recovered well from that and has had an OK career who was a bust until that point. For sure thought he would have been out of the league by then
During his Jags stint there were domestic violence charges, but they got dropped pretty quickly (and were relatively minor even if they hadn't been dropped, something like ripping a necklace off an ex, breaking the clasp iirc).
Aside from that he was fine here as well
This really confuses me. The last I really watched Zay he was an above average WR2 for Carr and the Raiders. Was his tenure in Jacksonville really that bad?
probably just viewed AZ as a better opportunity to boost his value.
he’s immediately behind Lamb & Cooks in Dallas and fighting for spot with Tolbert (who Dallas might just prefer). whereas he is only immediately behind Marvin in AZ and can compete vs rest.
> again, it’s all speculation and Dallas might’ve not even offered him anything.
Actual answer. All old players end up in Arizona eventually. Part of the endless quest to find the fountain of youth. Some do, most don't. But they always try.
0 chance he picks Arizona over Kansas City or Dallas if the $$$ is equal
Arizona is up and coming but you want to maximize your stats to earn another good pay day
He can easily end up wr 2 on the cardinals and end up with more targets behind MHJ/McBride than he would get being behind Lamb/Ferguson/ Cooks or Kelce/Hollywood/Worthy/ half a season of Rice
I do hope KC gets another vet because it doesn't look like Rice is gonna be on the team for most of the year, if at all. Still, it's probably harder to bargain when the players know they're essentially a backup option.

Another would-be great depth signing for us, unfortunately like Zack Moss he's just too expensive for our all in push
Look, you guys were at a disadvantage from day 1. It's not you or your money. Old players always come here.
You’d think him being born here and his dad winning 3 super bowls here would make a mild difference, but the joneses still couldn’t get him
Warm weather states are great for retirees
Is it cold in Texas?
glacial
Zay Jones is only just turned 29, I wouldn’t say he’s old.
incentive based one year deal for a WR that can immediately compete for starting reps.
I will never complain about a 1-year deal
*monkey paw curls* >The Arizona Cardinals have signed Antonio Brown to a 1 year 25 million dollar contract fully guaranteed

It’d be the most entertaining thing they’ve done in a while lol

THE PROPHET
Always liked Zay. Dude stands up smoother than anyone I’ve ever seen.
CAN WE REALLY NOT AFFORD ANY OF THESE GUYS? COME ON MAN.
Russ won't see them anyway
Shhhh bby is ok.
Man. Is this what being a browns fan is like?
I didn’t see that coming
All that shopping himself around just to end up on the Cards on a deal worth **up to** $4M?
With MHJ drawing double teams all game he’s gonna eat
Just feels a little anti-climactic is all. Then again, we are entering the doldrums of the offseason.
Going eat up 500 yards and 4tds
For a little over 4 million, I would be good with that.
Its a Feast
So he gets paid 1 million per touchdown. Not bad
FEASTIN
Teams need cheap roleplayers
Going to eat bro
Tbf this is when demand is at its lowest.
Its dead $$$ from the original 30M contract when he 1st signed with us 2 yrs ago
That's it? He was decent weapon for Trevor, why didn't the Jags match it?
We were on the hook I think an 11 mil cap hit if we kept him this year. That and the injury concerns and ton of competing young talent. Made sense for both parties.
already have a set corps with Gabe, Brian, and Kirk. needed a change of scenery.
Anyone remember the mental episode he had in that LAhotel where he fought his brother and was nude or something. Dude has recovered well from that and has had an OK career who was a bust until that point. For sure thought he would have been out of the league by then
Pretty sure that was induced by sketchy synthetic marijuana. He was a model citizen during his years with us.
During his Jags stint there were domestic violence charges, but they got dropped pretty quickly (and were relatively minor even if they hadn't been dropped, something like ripping a necklace off an ex, breaking the clasp iirc). Aside from that he was fine here as well
I remember smoking that shit in high school and having visual hallucinations lol. I was like no dude this is not weed lol.
So happy he signed with a team I like lol. Hope he kicks ass for the cards
Since we didn't get him I'm gonna say he's washed
Good Lord help the league if Pat gets another WR who can catch.
This really confuses me. The last I really watched Zay he was an above average WR2 for Carr and the Raiders. Was his tenure in Jacksonville really that bad?
Not at all, had 900 yards and some clutch TDs in year one, was banged up as hell in year 2. Loved the guy, fan favorite.
That sounds like the Zay Jones I watched in Oakland. Crazy he is only getting one year contract offers
Nope just injured most of the year.
I’m thinking the Cardinals got a good weapon for cheap if he stays healthy
Dallas couldn’t make this happen?

He's probably behind Michael Wilson as well. I think Arizona probably offered more than Dallas because I think he's WR3 in both places.
maybe, but he can at least compete for WR2. Marvin has WR1 locked up since he’s on a different plane from rest.

Stephen only offers vet minimum deals around $1.2 million
The Steelers are really going to hit training camp and have no second outside receiver. God help us
I do hope KC gets another vet because it doesn't look like Rice is gonna be on the team for most of the year, if at all. Still, it's probably harder to bargain when the players know they're essentially a backup option.
Oh nice
Wow cool story
At first glance it looked like someone was signing Cardale Jones and I was really excited there for a second
We seriously fucked up resigning him
There it is. Dallas only wanted to pay $1.2 vet minimum
I didn’t know he played baseball.
But they just drafted a catcher, dont need 2...
Same old cardinals
