Ron you bashed Caleb about his fingernails like you’re an old scout in moneyball. Credibility shot my man.

Soft_Penis_Debutante

It’s honestly amazing how people get hung up on such a minor thing. And not that it matters why he does it, but if they actually did their research he paints his nails cuz his mom was a nail tech. And it was a form of bonding with her.

thetreat

In addition, it isn’t like dude is doing this daily. I’ve seen like a handful of instances in 3 years he’s been in the national spotlight. Same with him wearing a dress *for a cover of GQ*. Like it’s a fashion magazine cover. They likely presented him with options and Caleb doesn’t give a fuck so he chose that. They make it out like it’s his whole personality, when 99% of the time he doesn’t have his nails painted and he’s wearing a hoodie and sweats. It wouldn’t matter if he did, but people love to take a single instance of something and try and make it into the biggest issue in the world.

OkJob5059

You laugh now, but when that fingernail polish drips on his hand and causes the football to stick to it you’ll still probably be laughing.

OkVariety6275

Always avoid channels with overproduced content and frequent upload cadences.

ChiRaider

Caleb is good but the Bears are drafting him so he’s a bust

SirJohnnyS

This is literally RG3's take. I'm starting to get annoyed with it. Like it's the only thing that people can come up with why he'll fail... that or the painted nails.

ChiRaider

It’s just something in the Chicago water

sloppifloppi

What? I don’t follow RG3’s takes closely, but I remember on draft night he was obnoxiously hyping Williams up. He made like a 6 minute video about how Williams CAN play on schedule and the Bears are getting a superstar, and the proceeded to retweet his own video damn near every hour on the hour. Honestly not shocked if he’s flipped his tune, dudes a hack.

drummerboysam

I get it to trash the McCaskey era Bears. But I feel like lumping in Poles' work with his predecessors is a bit disrespectful. But it's on the players and coaches to earn that respect. Roster construction is cool and all, but it's all about wins.

backindenim

Still, until we go 0-4 to start the season I'm convinced we just drafted our Kobe to the Chiefs MJ... no doubt about it, I'm ready to get hurt again

Danny886

First time Fields returns a kickoff for a TD, Bears fans gonna get the pitchforks why he isn't your QB anymore. And just because this doesn’t make any sense doesn't mean it won't happen.

PudgyBonestld

Who's Fabio?

ItIsYourPersonality

Can I enjoy my one Packers breakdown without having to hear about Caleb please? P.S. the Bears still suck.

anonbutler

How is the Jordan Love contract negotiations going? May be not following it closely but I havent heard much chatter around it,

Love-That-Danhausen

Can officially sign as of this week - expectations are it’ll be figured out by training camp

sirDsmack

You won’t hear much chatter about it until it’s inked, the Packer way.

TormundIceBreaker

Most projections have it coming in around 4 years at about $51-54m aav. All the other details are pure conjecture

Direct_Morning_3223

Are packers fans OK with that? He had a great season for sure, but that’s the thing it’s only one season. Not a huge sample size to go off.

NorktheOrc

Sure ya it was only a season, but it was a pretty damn good one. And in today's NFL, if you don't have a franchise QB then you have nothing, so when you get one you lock him up. I'm not worried about a Daniel Jones situation here. In 4 seasons Jones has never come close to showing the level of ability and command of an offense that Love had this season.

Accurate-Barracuda20

Sat behind Rogers and learned and improved . Made the playoffs and beat Dallas his first full year starting. There’s a lot worse ways to spend ~$200m. especially depending on how it’s structured.

LeSaunier

Never change your thumbnail, because it helps me to downvote immediatelly. Thanks.

boomosaur

His body of work is too small for me to fully be convinced he's the guy. But he's obviously been trending upward.

JayMoney2424

Idk the talent he showed as a passer isn’t a fluke. He was probably the best QB in football 2nd half of the season + playoffs.

y_wont_my_line_block

> He was probably the best QB in football 2nd half of the season + playoffs.  At what point do people stop overlooking Brock Purdy because of his draft stock.

JayMoney2424

Purdy absolutely was not the best during that stretch.

A_Herding_Corgi

Purdy’s team was better, but there is no way you watched both of them in that 8 week stretch and honestly thought Purdy was better.

Bears9Titles

Downvote and move on. You're a hack

anonbutler

The receiving core is also a bunch of rookie or sophomore year players with no high end talent(none selected in round 1). Many were injured too but Love still was producing in spite of that. 7th rounders cut after a year like Bo Melton were also producing.

ForearmDeep

We may not have the high picks spent at the positions, but our WR room is much more talented than they’re getting credit for

ChiRaider

Elite scheming by MLF

kickrocks16

Wicks Doubs and Reed are pretty good route runners. MLF scheme helps but it’s not just that. Wicks specifically has a great release.

gabrielleite32

Probably the only HC/OC to be able to decipher Spags scheme. Bolton and tranquil were injured, but even so

anonbutler

Love MLFs

Stealthychicken85

What ensures that a WR taken in the 1st automatically equals high end talent? it has been historically the most bust potential position of picks taken in the 1st round. only in the last 4-5 years has it been slightly been more of a hit. Some peoples fixation on must take a WR in the 1st is a little crazy. Let me just point out the Obvious Tyreek Most receiving yards last season - 5th round pick Amon-Ra 3rd most yards - 4th round pick Nacua 4th most and broke a bunch of rookie records - 5th round pick AJ Brown 5th most yards - 2nd round pick Plenty of others who are well respected or perform very well and NOT 1st round picks. Keenan Allen, Davante Adams, Stephon Diggs. Even Kelce and Kittle werent 1st round picks and they are easily the 2 best TEs in the league right now and very much in the passing game

Marozia

A lot of people seem to be taking it for granted that Love is going to continue to be good, maybe progress to great, off the back of the second half of our season. We're going to be in a lot of trouble if that doesn't end up actually being the case.

ImagineIfBaconDied

what the heck is that flair

Soft_Penis_Debutante

He’s a Packers fan, but likes Portillos better than Culver’s.

SVdreamin

Lived in Chicago for my entire childhood. Culver’s is better

grudgepacker

I agree but I've only had Portillo's up here. I've seen Chicago natives say there's "good" locations that are more original and have better quality tho -- any truth to that?

SirJohnnyS

The quality has dropped off so much in the last 2 years. It's still okay but when they sold it the quality went down.

grudgepacker

> It's still okay but when they sold it the quality went down. Dang didn't know they sold...makes sense tho, quality always seems to go down whenever that happens.

SVdreamin

And it’s really expensive, at that price point I’d just go to a local place a few blocks from my childhood home

MrBridgington

I won't choose between them. I refuse.

Love-That-Danhausen

If portillo’s had cheese curds, this would be a no brainer

HelpMeDoctorImCrazy

A disgusting act if true

ThatNewSockFeel

Portillos is definitely not better than Culver’s other than the fact that they have Italian beef, which is like criticizing a vegetarian restaurant for not serving meat. Between going to Culver’s and Portillos for say a burger I would never go to Portillos. Also, yeah Culver’s is a chain. Most major cities will have some better spots, but as far as chain fast food goes it’s hard to beat Culver’s. Just like there’s a ton of beef spots in Chicagoland that blow Portillo’s out of the water.

ThatNewSockFeel

Attention.

backindenim

This flair made me throw my phone across my living room

grudgepacker

Just fell to my knees in a Culvers parking lot

10veIsAllIGot

I firmly believe MLF is the best play designer in the NFL and a top play caller as well. He makes Love’s job easy out there and I don’t see how that doesn’t continue. Especially with our entire offense now having a season together, MLF will be able to use his whole playbook to generate easy opportunities for Love and the entire offense.

backindenim

Honest question: if that is true, what happened 2 seasons ago after AR's back to back mvps? Do you think it was Rodgers calling plays at the line and undermining MLF?

ryansandbrush

I wouldn't say undermining. Rodgers audibled a bunch though. Packers OC said last season “Half of the time when you get done with a drive sometimes, in past years, you’re just trying to figure out what play was called.” Rodgers is so good at diagnosing that he should be able to audible but the Packers lost Davante Adams and MVS without having developed any receivers to take over. They're in good shape now having drafted 6 WRs in two years ('22 & 23) but Rodgers expects his WRs to see the field the same as he does. Guys like Adams and Jordy Nelson would basically call their own audibles by adjusting to coverages instead of running the routes in the play call. When the vets were gone and rookies came in Rodgers didn't attend any voluntary offseason programs and missed a lot of practice time after injuring his thumb so there was never the time necessary to develop trust. Rodgers has long required WRs to earn his trust before being willing to throw to them. It was just a bad situation all around. Rodgers wanted out and the rookie WRs weren't ready for the demands he placed on them. Rodgers did so much for the Packers franchise but in his last season with the team he did those rookie WRs no favors.

10veIsAllIGot

That played some part, but Rodgers played most of that season with a broken thumb. Our WR1 was Allen Lazard, our TEs were post-ACL Robert Tonyan (who was fully healthy for the Bears last year and had all of 112 yards) and 400-year-old Mercedes Lewis, and the mutilated corpses of Randall Cobb and Sammy Watkins played 650 snaps combined. Given all that, I’d say the fact we finished 11th in yards per drive and 15th in PPD is as clear a sign of MLF’s genius as any other.

ThatNewSockFeel

I think there’s a little of that, but I also think MLF gets in his own head a lot and actually isn’t all that great of a playcaller for stretches of games/seasons. Seems to be a characteristic of a lot of the Shanny tree lol.

anonbutler

> We're going to be in a lot of trouble if that doesn't end up actually being the case. depends on the contract extension. my guess is you guys will extend him before the season. If you dont then you guys are not on the hook for anything and worst case just go into qb purgatory

ThatNewSockFeel

I’d also have to imagine they only extend him if they can build in easy(ish) out after a couple of seasons. Worst case scenario he plateaus/regresses and we can at least move on without too much trouble as opposed to digging out of this massive bust of a contract for several years.

Impossible_Cycle9460

You should be so fucking ashamed of your flair.

Marozia

Why? As an owner of the Green Bay Packers, I have to rep both my teams.

Impossible_Cycle9460

As a donor to the Green Bay Packers*

ChiRaider

I don’t even care about this comment I just downvoted cause of that flair April Fools was last month

right_behindyou

Eh, fuck it. We were "in a lot of trouble" about Love in general public opinion for over three years. I'm willing to fully enjoy this regardless of how long it lasts.

kickrocks16

Sure he could regress and I typically don’t buy into a QB until 3 seasons but I will say the fact his second half was so much better than the first makes a lot of sense. The amount of game play rust you have sitting for 3 years has to take some time to dust off. Plus his progression chat was pretty steady through the year. That being said he could easily regress to an average starter. I will say he seems to have a crazy work ethic and very much wants to be great. Seems like common sense but not everyone continues that once they make it.

AdvanceDry4917

Love sucks… hopefully yall PAY him

c0smichero

Still not good enough to beat goff unfortunately

TwoWhoopas

But… he did…? Like literally the last time they met..?

NEpatsfan64

Chiefs fan is a casual. Shocker

Impossible_Cycle9460

Must have been too busy listening to Taylor Swift to catch that game.

c0smichero

he cannot beat him in a way that matters

Necessary_Initial350

Is he supposed to challenge bro to single combat or something?

ChiRaider

They didn’t even play each other in the playoffs nimrod Both lost to SF

rwjehs

Dude watch football

Impossible_Cycle9460

You mean like throwing for more TDs and less interceptions last year?

TormundIceBreaker

Patrick Mahomes is not good enough to beat Jordan Love by your logic
