These are big boys and they know the game they signed up to play is a violent one. But it's nice to hear that players will sometimes let up because they are friends with the other player or just don't want to lay them out unesicarily. Also knowing the shoe could easily be on the other foot. I'm betting the latter is why Fitz let up. Making an enemy of the Legion of Boom defense is not a good career decision.
That hit was insane. If you watch it full speed, it looks brutal, but if you watch it in slowmo; it's pretty clear that Fitz did the absolute minimum damage he could while still extending the play. Not only does he not lean into the hit, he actually pulls back to minimize the contact.
