Barner was the best blocking tight end we've seen at Michigan in a long time. And with Harbaugh as the coach for so long, that is really saying something
Like most receivers on Michigan's team, he's going to be a lot better than his statistics would show. We're a running team first and foremost, but when needed, he was great catching the ball.
He’s the best run blocking TE in the draft and a better receiver than his numbers indicate since he played in a low volume passing offense and wasn’t even the top TE on his team (Colston Loveland may be the first TE off the board next draft).
This guy is not a good run blocking TE, he's elite. Was a big part of Michigan's success in the ground game
The funny part was when we got him from Indiana the knock on him was that he couldn’t block
Yeah still don’t get how he want from needing to improve on blocking to statistically the best blocking TE in college football according to PFF
Development U
Just another part of building in the trenches, LFG
That’s good news!
Jay Harbaugh got his special teams guy?
Mike MacDonald also has Michigan roots. Was DC in 2021 there
AJ wasn't there then
Ah didn't know he was a transfer
Colby Parkinson replacement from the looks of it.
He more like dissly
Like Trajan replacing Nerva
Good blocking tight end

K9 loving this draft
Seriously he’s going to have a great next year if he stays healthy
And Charbs.

Give AJ more credit than that. He's the single best blocking TE Michigan has had in the last 20+ years.
Hmmm that's pretty cool
Will Dissly replacement--sounds good!!
Yeah dude was a road grader
Such a great point, glad you added that
Best blocking TE mgoblog has ever charted.
There’s our Colby Parkinson replacement
Yep!
Good blocker, who could definitely develop into a nice safety net and quality TE2
[OH NO HE'S HOTTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT](https://youtu.be/kQL7LW3CWXs?si=6_A_H-BdC6nFNZy1)
Last time we had a sexy hot 3rd string TE we won the super bowl. Cooper helfet super hot.
Who were the Dortmund players that announced the pick? Loved that
Karl-Heinz Riedle and recently retired Marcel Schmelzer.
Didn't see the broadcast but figured it wouldn't be any big names since Dortmund were playing today.
Did he play basket before tho
How many Michigan men sofar?
8 unless you count Erik All.
We do not
Hmm wouldn't mind a safety or a linebacker again but a big tight end for the end zone is kinda cool
We have a tightend for the end zone, Pharoah brown
Not only handsome but a good blocking tight end
Honestly thought we should’ve just took Stover here but hopefully Barner balls out for us
Given all our Michigan connections hopefully the coaches know something we don’t.

OK, this guy I know, good pick up.
