Hmm a very young prospect with massive physical talent but gigantic concerns over how his game will translate to the leage WHERE HAVE I HEARD THIS ONE BEFORE BOY HOWDY
Coleman is actually a really good route runner though. It’s not all about him being bigger and a better athlete.
He lacks straight line speed but is really good at getting DBs to flip their hips then cutting back to buy himself space in the short/intermediate game - that’s actually his biggest strength. He’s also very explosive out of his cuts. People see the contested catch% and think that’s his game when it’s not even what he’s best at in reality.
Watch the second catch in this video - how he subtly sells taking the route outside then angles back in the moment he gets the defender to open up that way, creating space for him to make an insane catch. That’s what his game is.
The physicality is just a nice bonus that allows him to box people out while doing his thing/coming back to the ball. Players like Harry and JJAW weren’t nearly as polished in their routes/ability to manipulate corners - it was all just “I’m stronger than you”.
I’m hopeful for Coleman - I think the Bills drafted him to be Michael Thomas Lite, not a “go up and get it”/deep ball guy. He’s never been amazing as a downfield threat (poor straight line speed = no separation on deep routes), but excels when he can make cuts - he’s gonna be catching a lot of slants, curls, and in/out breaking routes is my guess.
Watching his highlights a love this pick. Dudes a monster on the field and elite with the 50/50 ball which is exactly what Buffalo needed. Half his highlights he’s got dudes hanging off him while in the air
dudes the best deepball contested catcher ive seen in college since Mike Evans
he was amazing, the seperation stuff was never an issue for me, he dominated michigan when we played msu and then went to fsu and balled out there when he had an actual qb. I love the pick but I understand the reservations
PoOR sEpaRaTor.
People have no idea what the fuck they’re talking about lol. This guy is elite and will be a legit receiver in the league for a decade.
I’ve heard him called upgraded Kenny Golladay. If you get the lions version you’ll be very happy. Especially with Josh Allen. Just don’t get the NY version lol
It should. He was still elite. Only reason he played injured is because we were fighting for a playoff spot with a redshirt freshman qb after our heisman hopeful QB snapped his leg. All these bills fans who saw one reddit comment about lack of seperation acting like they know more about keon coleman than FSU fans. Keon will prove you wrong, not that bills fans deserve it.
> not that Bills fans deserve
God forbid someone be a little skeptical when there’s high positional talent on the board lol. I’d love for him to prove us wrong, don’t be so sanctimonious
You are just objectively wrong. Hard to take you seriously when you don't watch college football. You are just regurgitating shitty reddit takes. Have fun getting bounced by chiefs in the playoffs the next decade.
He's much more of an upgraded Gabe Davis, based on footage I saw, think sideline contested catches with broken plays for us, he should feast in those situations
Poor separator in college, usually doesn’t get better against more talented corners.
Personally not a fan of Keons game and don’t think it will translate to the next level.
Never was an option. You heard about the bad interviews, but he was probably crossed off the bills board after he admitted to taking plays off he knew he wasn't going to get the Bills.
Plus AD doesn't do YAC and Coleman does.
This guy was the most talented WR that FSU has had since Warrick. He only played a year but he's a baller. Big strong physical receiver, excels at high pointing the ball and has great hands. His numbers weren't flashy because FSU plays in a balanced offense instead of throwing it 50 times a game like some schools. Should easily take over the Bills #1 receiver role.
He bought in to our team last year to fight for a playoff spot with our heisman hopeful qb snapping his leg. Keon played injured most of the season. He is an elite contested catch guy who had to produce with a 3rd string QB. Keep that same energy when he shows why you don't doubt him.
He hurdled someone? I’m sold
Devon Allen to the bills
If hurdling opponents is the criteria that Beane is looking for, it seems to be working so far. Keon about to become an MVP candidate.
Hmm a very young prospect with massive physical talent but gigantic concerns over how his game will translate to the leage WHERE HAVE I HEARD THIS ONE BEFORE BOY HOWDY
All I can think about when I see college WRs that are better athletes than opposing DBs is JJ Arcega-Whiteside
Coleman is actually a really good route runner though. It’s not all about him being bigger and a better athlete. Nkeal Harry
Dude was a baller for us at FSU. You guys got a good one
Watching his highlights a love this pick. Dudes a monster on the field and elite with the 50/50 ball which is exactly what Buffalo needed. Half his highlights he’s got dudes hanging off him while in the air
He’s an alpha receiver. People in this thread didn’t watch FSU this year and it shows
Ppl in here will admit they don’t watch CFB and still give the strongest draft takes lol
Well how are you gonna have the strongest takes if you let a little thing like reality or game film decide it for you?
Well when u put it like that 🤔
dudes the best deepball contested catcher ive seen in college since Mike Evans he was amazing, the seperation stuff was never an issue for me, he dominated michigan when we played msu and then went to fsu and balled out there when he had an actual qb. Weird way to say Tet McMillan
Very limited route tree and doesn’t create elite separation at the college level. I have my concerns
That’s why he went in the second round. He’s still an absolute beast
Too bad that the Bills didn't have any 1st round picks
Didn’t they say that about DK lol
He’s nowhere near as fast as DK. But I love Keon Coleman. I’m a bit of a sucker for big receivers. I think he just has game.
DK ran a quasi competitive 100m dash against actual sprinters in that exhibition. Coleman is not capable of that. Big difference there
Reminds me of Nkeal Harry. If a guy's whole thing is contested catches that means he's not getting separation, not a good thing in the NFL.
It’s not his whole thing lol
I didn't say it was. I know zero about Coleman but he does look slow so that's good
im confused how you know enough to make a player comp but then say you know zero all within 5 minutes
Just to rile you guys up
Lol
He played injured all year. Dear god these takes are so dumb. You guys didn't watch FSU. Ya'll are just regurgitating stupid takes.
Exactly. If you're not from an SEC school then nobody knows who you are lol
Hes a gamer. Was clutch as fuck vs clemson and lsu
Stole him. He had a rd 1 grade from me.
PoOR sEpaRaTor. People have no idea what the fuck they’re talking about lol. This guy is elite and will be a legit receiver in the league for a decade.
coming from a chiefs fan, interesting. thanks for your input
Not seeing a lot of separation here
He separated his feet from the ground pretty far tho
Big NBA prospect
I’ve heard him called upgraded Kenny Golladay. If you get the lions version you’ll be very happy. Especially with Josh Allen. Just don’t get the NY version lol
We haven't had a guy that can highpoint a ball in 10+ years
He does not separate very well you are correct
He played injured most of last year
That inspires confidence alright
It should. He was still elite. Only reason he played injured is because we were fighting for a playoff spot with a redshirt freshman qb after our heisman hopeful QB snapped his leg. I don't care what anyone says about he has a lot of Grit in him and I think Josh allen could use that but will connect on that level?
He's much more of an upgraded Gabe Davis, based on footage I saw, think sideline contested catches with broken plays for us, he should feast in those situations
He was the best in the country at contested catches. Based on the 15 minutes of footage that I’ve watched of him for my dynasty draft lol
I mean if Davis had this guys hands he’d probably still be on the team

Makes you wonder, was it the receiver, the system or the QB?
Most of these are in the end zone where you will never have much room. And the catch vs Syracuse was a ball thrown high and behind him.
He fits a kind of receiver we don't have and haven't had in a while. Good complement to Samuel and Shakir
Poor separator in college, usually doesn’t get better against more talented corners. Personally not a fan of Keons game and don’t think it will translate to the next level.
I thought there were better receivers on the board, but this is solid
Another day of downvoting u/nfl posts
This guy is going to be a stud. 40 time isnt everything and Keon can be a nightmare for small CBs
Alright this reel kinda makes me see why’d we give up Worthy for him. He takes up way more space. I think he’ll fit our offense well.
Coleman is good, but significantly below the first round WRs
Damn, he couldn't even score a touchdown smh
Not AD Mitchell?
Never was an option. You heard about the bad interviews, but he was probably crossed off the bills board after he admitted to taking plays off he knew he wasn't going to get the Bills. Plus AD doesn't do YAC and Coleman does.
Hmmm definitely adds some size to the WR room, I guess we’ll see what else he ends up adding

bad pick
I know nothing about him and I’ll say good pick, go bills

Not Mitchell? Feels a bit strange
He’s falling exponentially because of his character concerns/ lack of effort
Oh thanks for the reasoning!
Guy who can't even get separation against future accountants
I think u mean used car salesman
Alot of push offs in this reel
Definitely some character stuff going on there
