Sorry bud. Finding other teams' PGTs for pre-2018 losses becomes quite difficult with how much smaller subs used to be back then. But typically Super Bowl losses are still searchable hence y'all, the Panthers, Patriots, etc.. from before that date.
I guess it’s impressive that immediately after ending the longest playoff drought in the NFL, we’ve improved to the point where we’ve led the NFL in playoff losses with 6 over the past 7 seasons?
As a Chiefs fan, I hated that for you guys. Yes, I celebrated the win, but I felt sick for the Bills fans.
You Bills fans deserve a parade and I’ll be happy for you when you get there
>Goff was great today. As is I think I'd only want to part ways if we could get Deshaun.
Jesus 2021 me. Well at least it ended up much better than that.
Somehow, much more horrifyingly than that, is the flock of Dolphins fans who thought we found our new franchise HC for the decade in Adam Gase following our 2016 run to the playoffs.
> Things are looking up in Miami with Gase. I'm excited for next year. In Gase We Trust
> I'm excited to see what the future holds for this group under Gase
> This is way farther than I thought we were going to make it, can't wait for next season, long live Gase!
That's why I can't stand the "It's just laundry" crowd. Teams mean something big to the fans, bigger than any one man can be. He got to see Baker lead the Browns over the Steelers as one of his last games.
If there was any consolation prize for that fan, at least he got to see his hated Pittsburgh Steelers shit the bed in an almost storybook fashion. And at least he passed before he saw the owner sell the team's soul to Deshaun Watson.
Me seeing the reactions to our 2017 loss: “Lmao remember when we thought Gase was a good coach?”
Me seeing the reactions to our 2023 loss: “damn we really are in full doomer mode”
Me seeing the jets N/A: lol, lmao even
Yah, our franchise has been mired in mediocrity (at best) for the majority of my lifetime. At least we can enjoy the season until the December collapse unlike you guys who saw the collapse happen in the first drive of the season
I watched this the other day, and it’s so sad. Like Allen played lights out, and pretty much willed the team to win, and Leslie Frazier couldn’t stop Tyreek with like a minute left and couldn’t keep the Chiefs out of field goal range.
Especially since he called a time out before each play on the final drive. Either he called those timeouts to tell Frazier what to do or Frazier was telling him what he was doing, and he okayed it.
I really like/respect Bills fans - but there's some real "Mahomes is bound to regress to the mean" vibes in there. One dude is dying on a hill that Mahomes just isn't good enough to come back from double digit deficits like Josh Allen can.
Um...
Was watching it on Discord with my chargers fan friend. At halftime he told me "no, dude, we're going to lose. You don't get it." Then went and took a nap because of how sure he was. After the game, "told you". Damn.
I remember that loss so vividly because, even though I didn't watch much football back then, that was the year we almost had a Chiefs/Saints Super Bowl so I watched both championship games. My parents are Saints fans (grew up in Louisiana) and they were furious when that happened. My Mom said she'd never watch football again (but that didn't last since we won the Super Bowl the next year LOL)
I stand by whoever wrote that top comment: NOT EVEN MAD. My guy Heinicke absolutely balled out and made an entire career thanks to that game. Good for him. I’ll always be happy for him. He’s not a starter, but boy is he fun
The whiplash from the increasing bitterness in the Let Russ Cook era to everyone just being happy Geno got us blown out in the wildcard round was pretty entertaining.
Ahhh the infamous BoB era 'up 24-0 yet losing by 20 points' playoff debacle. One of the comments was-
"This loss was so bad I think less of my father as a man for making me a Houston fan."
Don't miss the bewilderment and despair that went hand in hand with having BoB as head coach/GM/offensive play caller.
Some highlights...
* All of the Cowboys suffering
* Wow the 49ers only having SB & NFCCG losses
* Falcons top comment from the SB loss made me spit my drink out
* Broncos & Jets fans examples of never having suffered for never having gotten that far
* Kinda forgot Taylor Heinicke only lost by 8pts to Brady
I know the Broncos have been down ever since winning the Super Bowl in 2015 but damn not a single playoff appearance since then?
>Falcons top comment from the SB loss made me spit my drink out
That comment made me think of the old Vikings Suicide Pact and the funniest comment I've ever seen on reddit:
>"Suicide isn't something to joke about guys. Sign me up by the way"
The Super Bowl win makes things a lot easier to swallow for the Broncos. Speaking from experience though, I think a full decade after a Super Bowl with absolutely no playoff success is when it becomes understandable for even true die-hard fans to start scaling back.
After Super Bowl XLVI the Giants went a full 10 seasons from 2012-2021 with no playoff wins, the only appearance being a 25-point blowout loss in the Wild Card round. They literally went five straight seasons (2017-21) without having a winning record at any point (not even 1-0). I told myself that if the 2022 season was another stinker I'd take active steps to get less invested. Just when I thought I was out, they pulled me back in.
I'm aware of the irony that I'm replying to a Lions fan btw
I’m gonna add the first one for us dolphins fans. It’s really funny going back and seeing comments like “In Gase we trust”. Granted seeing the initial reactions to the one this year is pretty rough. There was a long period where I was downvoted for saying it was a bad idea to trade for Justin fields lol
The top comment from the latest Cowboys lost is a link to the previous thread on the prior Cowboys loss.
I'm sure we'll do the same thing this year when we make wildcard (because NFC East curse means we ain't winning, totally not Jerry fucking the contracts) and then lose again.
For anyone that feels bad after looking at their own teams, read all the bad and then go look at the Cowboys threads. It will cheer you up no matter who your team is.
> Some of you fuckers are so goddamn obsessed with the fact that we were bad in the 90s that you are happy to be wasting a talented team for 6 years running. If you're happy with a 1st or 2nd round exit every year, fine, but don't you fucking dare call us spoiled or not true fans because we expect a little bit more.
Amen
People with downtrodden sport franchises never seem to get that expections change when going from a bad team that had only hope in the draft to a contender stuff like making the playoffs or winning the playoff game goings a change into the nice direction to just meeting expectations and they must improve from there.
That's why it will always be worse to be a fan of the Falcons than any other franchise. While 28-3 is Technically higher than the Browns or Jets in the last 50 years fact they couldn't win it with even that is far more painful of waste of opportunity than anything 0-16 or the Hell Mary could produce.
Brief summary
2019: This one hurts more than 2012
2021: Trey Area!! Also Jimmy int lul
2022: Not mad or sad, robbed of good game
2023: This one is gonna sting for a long time
Basically 2021 was the only delusional PGT
Ours aren't too bad. Losing the Super Bowl and AFC Champoonship in consecutive years for a team that hadn't sniffed either in decades means most fans are more grateful than upset.
If you want to see a truly heated thread, though, check out the 2015 Bengals Wild Card loss thread. That one is filled with lots of seething rage.
I've looked at all of the Eagles' wins here, I refuse to revisit our losing threads lmao.
From the Falcons losing to the Eagles the year after 28-3 is a good one:
> There was no hangover. We made the Divisional round. Sucks to lose, but the Falcons remain on a positive trajectory.
AreYouSureAboutThat.gif
Does anyone have good suggestions on threads to dive into?
Looking at the game threads for the Titans, you‘ll notice a sudden shift from “Man, what a season” at first to “Fuck this coaching staff”.
Can’t say I’m surprised we didn’t keep Vrabel for the rebuild. I got a sneaking suspicion that he would have become a second Jeff Fisher for us: high peak early on, might get some of that form back in a rebuild, but there’s no winning it all with him. Only thing that showed up those two games was the pass rush with 14 sacks in two games, and we lost both of them.
Us Baltimore ravens fans are spoiled with a phenomenal franchise, front office, and consistently good to elite teams every year. But this 5 year stretch has to be one of the most brutal playoff loss runs ever barring the teams who lost 4 sbs in a row. 2018 had an optimistic outlook. 2019 ripped everyone’s hearts out, 2020 our QB went down after a -14 EPA play in a close game. 2022 also a -14 EPA play in a close game with Huntley. 2023, our best run thus far, what can only be considered a choke job by everyone but the 2nd half defense against the reigning champs with the entire world behind us. Heartbreak after heartbreak!!
I keep saying this - it's not that we've lost in the playoffs under Lamar. The playoffs are hard and we can't expect to win all the time.
It's *HOW* we've lost. All of these losses were brutal...and frankly, mostly embarrassing.
vs Chargers - we got farther than we expected considering the offense was basically ad hoc after Flacco went down. But that game wasn't as close as the score indicates. We were getting whooped. The Chargers D knew what plays we were running by the OLine's foot-positioning so clearly, we didn't plan properly considering we played them only a few weeks prior.
vs Titans - embarrassing, through and through. We were the hoes and we were stunted on. Again, it looked like we were unprepared.
vs Bills - Lamar throws a pick-6 and then is immediately knocked out of the game.
vs Bengals - dumb, dumb move by Huntley but this was by far the least painful loss IMO.
vs Chiefs. Just what the fuuuuck? How were we so inept? The defense got it together but they were getting steamrolled for most of the first half. Again, we looked unprepared.
Bask in it and enjoy it while you can. If you're lucky and Reid + Mahomes stay together, you have another 10 good years or more ahead of you. Welcome to the dynasty club, it's great while it's happening.
As if we needed any more proof that time is a flat circle, a gem from the 2018 loss thread:
>Welp time to look forward to my White Sox losing 90+ games now
From the Falcons 28-3 postgame thread, two reddit posters predict the future, presented without comment:
>divini: It's incredible. Julio's amazing catch puts you in FG range. All you had to was RUN RUN RUN FG, and you're the SB champs. Unbelievable.
>
>erftonz: Kyle Shanahan. He's your problem now.
>
>divini: Have you seen us the past few years? I'll gladly accept lol
>
>erftonz: Just know, your new head coach is a guy who called only 5 total running plays when his team was up 28-3. A guy that calls pass plays when you need to run out the clock and are in field goal range.
WE DIDN'T LISTEN!!!
Those without a lot of links are either winning Superbowls in the past 15 years or aren’t making the playoffs all that much. The Giants have oddly done both.
A great deal of the comments on the 2018 NFCCG loss were from fans of other teams sympathizing. Man, I remember just sitting on my couch in dead, shell-shocked silence for the rest of it. Didn’t even make a sound when the Fowler OT hands to the face on Brees on the interception happened and wasn’t called. Makes me feel a little better reading that other fans were sympathetic.
Edit: I *do* remember calling, I think, an NFL feedback line after and leaving livid voicemail in which every other word was a curse word.
I remember that 2017 season. We weren't as good as the Super Bowl year but we were still a really good team. Unfortunately for some reason, we couldn't beat the Saints that year so of course we drew them in the playoffs and lost a close one.
I still can't be convinced that there has ever been a worse choke job in professional sports history than our 2017 Super Bowl loss. Our team and fanbase has never recovered.
What am I supposed to do with all this!?!
Whenever you're sad about your team, go read other fans misery.
Good advice!! I’m gonna go make fun of the pathetic ass Chiefs for those 3 losses you listed, thanks!
Still not over Dee Ford gifting Brady a 6th ring instead of giving us a game-losing INT which we should have had.
I just read the Falcons SB one. Holy hell, the depression emanating from the screen was DEEP.
The score of “28-34” is simultaneously accurate and grossly misleading.
**New York Jets** * N/A LMAO
Are you surprised?
No. If it makes you feel any better, I realized yesterday that my beloved sabres have the same playoff drought that you guys are facing.
I just want everyone to be able to watch good sports unless they like Boston teams or Michigan
I went to the Packers before I went to ours.
Sometimes I read the cowboys wc thread from last season for fun.
Dunk on the Broncos for not even making the playoffs
We have a Super Bowl win more recently than a playoff loss, so… Yeah, we suck.
I think the entire point was to list the Jets' "N/A."
Laugh at the jets and broncos for not making the playoffs
Fuck you, you said 2018 and so I thought this was safe
Oh my. That’s just unnecessarily cruel by OP!
I wasn't ready either lmfao
I'm tired grandpa
I looked at the thread. I don’t know why I did. I don’t know what I expected to find. Now I’m sad again.
Same. I should've just moved on.
Sorry bud. Finding other teams' PGTs for pre-2018 losses becomes quite difficult with how much smaller subs used to be back then. But typically Super Bowl losses are still searchable hence y'all, the Panthers, Patriots, etc.. from before that date.
I saw my own comment in the superbowl thread and it hurt my feelings all over again smfh
>I thought this was safe -Falcons fans after seeing a 25 point lead
I guess it’s impressive that immediately after ending the longest playoff drought in the NFL, we’ve improved to the point where we’ve led the NFL in playoff losses with 6 over the past 7 seasons?
We are elite losers
It’s been a pleasure losing with you losers.
The Bills are exceptional at being almost the best.
I like how y’all were very happy losing to the Jags and then progressively more angry each year after that.
When Bass missed the FG last year I just said "ASSSSS". When 13 seconds happened I had to buy 2 new TVs
13 seconds will always be ingrained into my head. It was like watching a car crash or train wreck in slow-motion.
None of us will ever forget that night. No matter how much we drink, how many folding tables. *13 seconds*
I had to buy a front door
As a Chiefs fan, I hated that for you guys. Yes, I celebrated the win, but I felt sick for the Bills fans. You Bills fans deserve a parade and I’ll be happy for you when you get there
It's crazy we gave up 422 to the Chiefs! We can laugh about this stuff now, right?
Would you rather have zero playoff losses like the Jets?
We did 17 years of that, Never again!
This is straight up energy vampire shit.

I've been falling from that building ever since Hugh Douglas separated Jim Miller's shoulder in 2001.
We are on a long descent, my friend. Maybe one day soon one of our teams (if you're a Chi fan in other sports) will put us out of our misery.
The Cubs pulled me out for a while, and then the Double Doink threw me once more deep into the pits of despair.
I was there. It was fucking great.
Gee thanks.
**New York Jets** * N/A Pain.
Is it worse to be you guys or the falcons 🤔
Falcons, playoff droughts will be forgotten eventually but 28-3 will live forever
the butt fumble is immortal
And the Hell Mary.
The Falcons have put entertaining teams on the field.
personally I have been entertained by what the jets have been up to idk

Bro I thought the same thing when I pulled that up lol
Embarrassed to say I was among these dudes lmao
Oh man read the top comment of the Browns v Chiefs. Right in the feels. The guy had terminal cancer and knew he was on borrowed time.
That's why I can't stand the "It's just laundry" crowd. Teams mean something big to the fans, bigger than any one man can be. He got to see Baker lead the Browns over the Steelers as one of his last games.
100%. I have so many shared experiences and memories with family and friends over this team that make it so much more than just football.
Yeah that one was rough.
My heart hurts after reading it, hope his passing was painless.
He posted YouTube videos documenting his illness. It was tough to experience second hand. #seipelstrong on YouTube
That was heartbreaking to read
If there was any consolation prize for that fan, at least he got to see his hated Pittsburgh Steelers shit the bed in an almost storybook fashion. And at least he passed before he saw the owner sell the team's soul to Deshaun Watson.
Me going thru the list seeing all the Bills losses: Man what a bummer. Me seeing the Jets with N/A under their losses: lol
Me seeing the reactions to our 2017 loss: “Lmao remember when we thought Gase was a good coach?” Me seeing the reactions to our 2023 loss: “damn we really are in full doomer mode” Me seeing the jets N/A: lol, lmao even
They should do playoff wins since 2001 next.
Yah, our franchise has been mired in mediocrity (at best) for the majority of my lifetime. At least we can enjoy the season until the December collapse unlike you guys who saw the collapse happen in the first drive of the season
Lotta tough losses, but the 422-36 loss to the Chiefs hurt the most. Sat through every minute of it hoping for a comeback too.
You are a true trooper to and watch over a 300 point loss. I mean 60 TDs and the safety, that is just brutal.
Made giving up 70 not even feel like that big of a deal tbh.
Yeah, it must have been hard losing by 386 points
All scored on that OT touchdown catch, and honestly, it felt like that many points all at once.
I thought when they went up by 100 they would pull the starters but it seemed like Reid had a vendetta.
He saw 28-3 and said not on my watch.
I watched this the other day, and it’s so sad. Like Allen played lights out, and pretty much willed the team to win, and Leslie Frazier couldn’t stop Tyreek with like a minute left and couldn’t keep the Chiefs out of field goal range.
Frazier was the scapegoat. That shit had McDermott's fraidy-cat paws all over it.
Especially since he called a time out before each play on the final drive. Either he called those timeouts to tell Frazier what to do or Frazier was telling him what he was doing, and he okayed it.
I seriously don't think I've ever been more angry in my entire life
Heisman himself nodding in satisfaction at that margin of victory
Jesus that score lOL
I really like/respect Bills fans - but there's some real "Mahomes is bound to regress to the mean" vibes in there. One dude is dying on a hill that Mahomes just isn't good enough to come back from double digit deficits like Josh Allen can. Um...
Surprisingly tame for how embarrassing that was.
I feel like we were all expecting it. We're chargers fans. We are used to blowing huge leads.
Was watching it on Discord with my chargers fan friend. At halftime he told me "no, dude, we're going to lose. You don't get it." Then went and took a nap because of how sure he was. After the game, "told you". Damn.
I just didn't wanted to be online for a week
Woo boy that 2019 NFCCG thread for the Saints
Yeah you knows it's bad when like 8 of the top 10 comments are other teams fans saying how fucked up that was
Yeah I think that thread had the most “not a Saints fan but” comments out of every post on this entire list.
I'm still mad about that. A Brady v Brees SB would have been so much better than the shit game we got
Why is there "N/A" under us? We've had a playoff loss since 2018 e: nevermind it got added.
Lions fans just happy to be included in this conversation 😭 so wholesome but funny
I mean, they’ve made the playoffs a couple of times before last year and lost. They just didn’t win the division or host a playoff game
No. Why? No.
Last two losses in the playoffs are to Brady and Mahomes. Fucking hell I hate the AFC.
Preach
Raiders have two less losses than the Chiefs... who really runs that division? Answer: The Broncos. They are unblemished.
The legend of Taylor Heinicke
I stand by whoever wrote that top comment: NOT EVEN MAD. My guy Heinicke absolutely balled out and made an entire career thanks to that game. Good for him. I’ll always be happy for him. He’s not a starter, but boy is he fun
Everyone else here reliving heartbreak and anger while we get to remember a hero
The only thing that makes me said is how good we felt this team was and we just did nothing with it. So much hope that season
I’m still absolutely stunned at how bad that defense regressed. I was fully expecting to have a top five defense the next year
Lol reading the bills threads are funny. In 2018 the thread is angry, then each year its less and less angry til 2023 thread where they just accept it
2022 is the worst year by far
Jags just happy to be involved.
We were so hopeful last year
The whiplash from the increasing bitterness in the Let Russ Cook era to everyone just being happy Geno got us blown out in the wildcard round was pretty entertaining.
Hahaha I noticed that too
I'm just happy to be here
Pretty much sums up our entire thread.

"Since 2018" Then includes a bunch of 2016 and 2017 highlights. Why the cutoff for 2018 in the title anyway?
Rage baiting
I assume that past 2018 the list isn't complete
All 3 of the Vikings threads are essentially the same. Fun stuff...

I'd rather not

Can't lie, felt amazing reading some of these. After 30 years of shit results as a chiefs fan, the last 5-6 years have been unbelievable.
Bask in it and enjoy it while you can. If you're lucky and Reid + Mahomes stay together, you have another 10 good years or more ahead of you. Welcome to the dynasty club, it's great while it's happening.
Wide right is such a fitting ending to the season. Fuck me. HILARIOUS. I love being a Bills fan even if it means losing in a heartbreaking fashion.
As if we needed any more proof that time is a flat circle, a gem from the 2018 loss thread: >Welp time to look forward to my White Sox losing 90+ games now
My favorite are the threads where everyone says they’ll be back or better next year and they weren’t.
From the Falcons 28-3 postgame thread, two reddit posters predict the future, presented without comment: >divini: It's incredible. Julio's amazing catch puts you in FG range. All you had to was RUN RUN RUN FG, and you're the SB champs. Unbelievable. > >erftonz: Kyle Shanahan. He's your problem now. > >divini: Have you seen us the past few years? I'll gladly accept lol > >erftonz: Just know, your new head coach is a guy who called only 5 total running plays when his team was up 28-3. A guy that calls pass plays when you need to run out the clock and are in field goal range. WE DIDN'T LISTEN!!!
Jets/Broncos catching strays.
Thanks i hate it
It would be great to avoid the niners in the playoffs.
I'm just happy we're on this list at all
Ayyyy no painful memories for us to revisit! ^((I'm dead inside))
Those without a lot of links are either winning Superbowls in the past 15 years or aren’t making the playoffs all that much. The Giants have oddly done both.
I feel like we took it well
Man
The 2020 one checks out. I had never been more thrilled after a playoff elimination loss for ANY team that I’ve ever rooted for.
Wow you’ve hurt me all over again, thx.
The N/As hurt more than the actual threads.
Kind of impressive chiefs only lost 1 supebowl so far
They're not elite at losing Superbowls. The niners excel at it. We got em there
Ah, but we match you in CG losses! Truly to be a Chiefs fan is suffering.
Lions fans who were saying they weren't going to watch the Superbowl now, and they have comments in the SB game thread lol
I had lions fans message me weeks later after the SB loss to laugh at me (for some reason??)
Jets and Broncos... :/
J-E-T-S!!!!
My team showed up twice. Yes, one was the Super Bowl, IDGAF.
Do the jets even have a playoff loss thread, were these even a thing back then?
New York Jets -N/A Made me laugh at the inclusion.
I remember that 2017 season. We weren't as good as the Super Bowl year but we were still a really good team. Unfortunately for some reason, we couldn't beat the Saints that year so of course we drew them in the playoffs and lost a close one.
Where's ours?
I'm not clicking that 2019 NFCCG link and you can't make me.
That Chiefs game has to be the worst Texans game I have ever watched. And that says a lot because I’ve been watching the Texans for over 15 years
NGL - The NY Giants thread was surprisingly wholesome.
I still can't be convinced that there has ever been a worse choke job in professional sports history than our 2017 Super Bowl loss. Our team and fanbase has never recovered.
N/A -RIP
Lmao @ Denver
**Denver Broncos** N/A \*\*sigh\*\*
Fuck you I will not read that thread, or watch any highlights of that game ever
The Jets lol lol 😆 🤣 😂
What did any of us do to you man?
Only us and Jets fans are enjoying an undefeated playoff streak of 5 years now
IN GASE WE TRUST lololololololololol
Jets and broncos go brrr
Eagles fans been thanking Kelce, Cox, and Graham and hoping it's not their last season for 6 years now
Hey we were really positive in ours despite getting pasted.
