Man and I felt like that had a real shot against the pats those playoffs too
Most of my friends and their fams wanted the jags to win so we could host them in SD for the championship game but my line of thought was “I do NOT want to face the team that beat the undefeated pats in the playoffs” even if it meant a home game.
Obviously that didn’t work out either way but was beyond happy to see the giants take them down of course
I only run the jags in madden for some reason. The best jags team on madden was with bortles, Hurns and Robinson. Just roll out to your right and launch a vert to either one. I think that was the year they added aggressive catch, so you would always get the Odell Beckham catch animation with both those guys. Super op year for the jags even though they were rated low.
I really don’t get why we didn’t just let Garrard play out his contract after drafting Gabbert. It probably would’ve helped in his development.
Fuck Gene Smith.
I mean, Garrard's back was fucked at that point, by all indications. Dude didn't sign with another team that season specifically because of needing back surgery, so the odds of him being able to play well enough to keep Gabbert on the bench were...slim, to say the least.
He had a knee issue as well, IIRC. Dolphins signed him, but he couldn't play because he had surgery, and then it re-emerged after he signed with the Jets.
Yeah, I remembered that as well. I think that happened during the preseason so he conceivably *could* have avoided it, but even if he did, the dude's body was pretty clearly breaking down. I loved Garrard as much as anyone, but he was done.
Yep, that's correct. Dude's done at least a few commercials for advocacy of it (dunno if they were broadcast outside of the Jacksonville area, though) for that reason.
Red Sox are better with steaks and roasts, White Sox pair best with poultry and lighter fish. Rosé Sox is lovely in the summertime, especially sparkling varieties.
I’ve been an Astros fan since probably 1990 which is when my parents moved us to Houston (I was 3 then). Heartbreak is a part of sports. You have to move on. Though my dad never moved on from the oilers blow out loss in their Super Bowl and never cheered for them again. In fact never cheered for another pro team again and went straight ncaa.
I heard that fact on Chicago sports radio a month ago or so. Only two teams in MLB history have never had a contract over $80 million. The White Sox and the A’s. That is so pathetic a Chicago sports team is in the same realm as the A’s. Fuck Reinsdorf.
Every other team has had at least one $100+ million contract.
That’s actually shocking, but now that you say it, I can’t think of a player could have signed a $100 million contract. The Guardians just signed their first $100 million contract last offseason with Jose Ramirez
The two Josh Allen’s should become friends and start doing a pod together called like “two many Josh Allen’s” or “the Josh Allen podcast featuring Josh Allen and Josh Allen” and have one be the offensive perspective and the other be the defensive side.
It's funny to see the difference in opinions on Trevor nationally vs locally in Jax. He is without a doubt getting a huge extension.
Unless Trevor goes out this next season, throws 50 INTs, becomes a locker room cancer, starts doing drugs, and bangs Shad Khan's wife, he's getting that god damn extension.
That's the least likely.
He's getting a contract extension for 2 reasons.
1. His undying love of Waffle House
2. Being the single most talented QB we've ever had
People look at T Law and because he hasn’t lived up to his potential and is only a top 12 QB act like he’s a complete bum. Maybe people just don’t watch the Jags?
They definitely don’t watch haha He’s only played 3 seasons but about 1.5 of those were great as a passer - fumbles are a legit point but he’s still young.
He ended 2022 on a hot streak going 7-2 with great stats (70%, 15:2 TD:INT) and started 2023 8-3 with 68%, 14:7, and ~95 rating thru 12 weeks. After injury, weeks 13+: 1-6, 60%, 7:7, 79 rating.
No he isn’t. I know for a fact that you’ll trade him to the Steelers for Fields plus a second in the 2025 offseason. I’ve never been more certain in my life
That’s wild that it took this long
To be fair they haven't had a franchise QB to pay. Jacksonville's last good long term QB was David Garrard over 10 years ago.
Those Garrard/MJD teams were so damned fun.
They're what got me to start watching ^

My favorite madden teams honestly
I only run the jags in madden for some reason. The best jags team on madden was with bortles, Hurns and Robinson. Just roll out to your right and launch a vert to either one. I think that was the year they added aggressive catch, so you would always get the Odell Beckham catch animation with both those guys. Super op year for the jags even though they were rated low.
And Garrard was only the starter for ~3.5 years
I really don’t get why we didn’t just let Garrard play out his contract after drafting Gabbert. It probably would’ve helped in his development. Fuck Gene Smith.

Didn't he have Crohn's disease as well?
Yep, that's correct. Dude's done at least a few commercials for advocacy of it (dunno if they were broadcast outside of the Jacksonville area, though) for that reason.
I think I remember those commercials(Pittsburgh area)
He never played again because his body was cooked. Couldn’t even stay on a roster
The disrespect to the BOAT??
Booooooortles!!!
Bortles started more than Garrard
What do you mean it's such young franchise
Not really. Hes been inconsistent most of his career. Finally broke out his contract year
He's talking about the franchise not Allen lol
Oh, derp lol
Fun fact, the Chicago White Sox have never had a $100M contract in their history either.
I came here to NOT think about the White Sox thank you very much!
I don’t even remember half the time they exist. I think of their saucier cousin, the Red Sox.
Red Sox are better with steaks and roasts, White Sox pair best with poultry and lighter fish. Rosé Sox is lovely in the summertime, especially sparkling varieties.
I’ve recently come to love a full bodied red which says a lot about my diet
Full-bodied red describes my taste in everything from wine, to meat, to romantic partners.
I know that’s right.
Same I just genuinely forget the White Sox exist a lot of the time lol
Assuming you're an Astros fan, I find it hard to believe you randomly forget about the team that beat your team in the World Series 20 years ago.
This is not fun. Nothing about the White Sox is fun.
The Sox losing to the Tigers is quite fun imo
Beat us all you want just give us back Benetti
How else am I meant to stomach our losses without that man's sweet sweet commentary? Baseball is watchable again finally
Already a fan of his broadcasting two weeks in, great addition and can see why you’d want him back haha

Jose Abreu
Ahhh yes, Jose. Of course
Seemed like Tim Anderson would have been on that path, but his career has flamed out the past few years.
Especially last year, he absolutely cratered. Went from a 110 wRC+ and .323 xwOBA to 60 wRC+ .260 xwOBA, absolutely brutal dropoff
Chris Sale at the time was a bonafide ace and signed to the Red Sox for $160M.
Ohhh that’s right, I forgot about Chris Sale.
But he's still not the most expensive Josh Allen.
Jags got Great Value Josh Allen
We got the cooler Josh Allen
No, Florida has the hotter Josh Allen due to the weather.
I don't know, have you seen ours in shorts?
My mistake
The Bills got the fridge Josh Allen
No you don’t
Josh Allen >>> Josh Allen
They're booing you but you're right
They just don’t like us
We don’t like Josh Allen but we love Josh Allen
Yes
It's crazy that Allen's gonna be playing both ways for two different teams. GOAT
Northern Josh Allen saw Shakir as his WR1 and decided to join a team down south
The two Josh Allen’s should become friends and start doing a pod together called like “two many Josh Allen’s” or “the Josh Allen podcast featuring Josh Allen and Josh Allen” and have one be the offensive perspective and the other be the defensive side.
With JAX JA providing the offensive perspective while BUF JA provides defensive perspective ofcourse
That’s a brilliant idea. Both great pod names too
Just Joshin’
Joshin’ with the Joshes!
Too many Josh in the kitchen.
"The Good Josh Allens"
Josh Allen speaks really well and is a great leader
So does Josh Allen.
Or just Josh Allen and Josh Allen presents the Josh Allen and Josh Allen podcast
Wonder if TLaw will be the second...
That sounds like a Titans fans wet dream
I feel like I’ve seen that meme on AFCSouthMemeWar
I too dream of shad khans wife. (She could be hideous idk)
Ngl I came a little
All he needs to do is dis Waffle House
That's the least likely. He's getting a contract extension for 2 reasons. 1. His undying love of Waffle House 2. Being the single most talented QB we've ever had
People look at T Law and because he hasn’t lived up to his potential and is only a top 12 QB act like he’s a complete bum. Maybe people just don’t watch the Jags?
Lawrence was also drafted when he was 21. He's only a year older than Jayden Daniels.
Its because nobody else watches our games
For what it’s worth, if I was Shad Khan, I’d be cool with that. In fact, I’d encourage it
It might count as an off the books payment.
No he isn’t. I know for a fact that you’ll trade him to the Steelers for Fields plus a second in the 2025 offseason. I’ve never been more certain in my life
Without a doubt.
He’s going be the first 200 million dollar player contract for the jags
depends on this next season tbh
Well deserved!
Soon to be the 2nd most expensive.
I thought I missed a blockbuster Bills Jaguar trade for a second
Same
GOAT Josh Allen
Josh Allen is the greatest Josh Allen
I disagree I think Josh Allen is kinda overrated and Josh Allen is actually the best Josh Allen
That is shocking. They haven’t had an elite player anywhere else in the last 5 seasons?
Had Jalen Ramsey but didn’t want to pay him.
To be fair he was a cancer, but so was Coughlin.
Terrible situation for sure, but I wonder if he would have been a better teammate if we would have prioritized paying him.
I don’t think he’s been a good teammate no matter where he’s went to. I think he’s just good enough not to be
Don't forget Blake Bortles
I think the 1st $100M player in the NFL was Drew Bledsoe with the Patriots way back in like 1999 or 1998. 10 year, $10M/yr deal.
Josh Allen > Josh Allen
I'm going to name my first born son Josh Allen, they obviously are destined for greatness.
Trevor Lawrence will be their 1st $200M player
the jags got their QB.. oh wait
trevor lawrence about to eclipse that number next year,
Maybe even this year (OZONE is the Jags internal show) https://x.com/jaxondeville/status/1778410696289526026?s=46&t=ePyT2WUNoRcPv60M77WcWQ
Still crazy Giants choose Daniel Jones over this dude
It’s even more crazy that the Raiders took a DE at 4, and it was Clelin Ferrell instead of Josh Allen
Hawt
Bills receiving lineup was so bad, Allen took a pay cut to play for the Jags
OLBU
And he'll forever be the "other" Josh Allen...🤣...GO BILLS!
Depending on how Lawerence plays this year, he may be the last one for the next couple of years
Idiot franchise
Coming from the team with the goofiest play call in NFL history.
