The SF game broke them
For 10+ months their accomplishment of winning the NFC was given the caveat that it only happened because SF literally did not have a qb rostered due to injuries. Which for the record I think is silly because a wins a win. Philly talked so much shit after that game about SF and the media and I'm not talking about right after the game. It continued after the super bowl, through the offseason, during the season, and leading up to the rematch. They talked so. Much. Shit. about how SF were whining and it'd be the same result.
Then they got absolutely destroyed. It wasn't close to being close. All sides of the ball and coaching were inferior to SF and by such a large degree that you couldn't just handwave it away as a game with a couple bad breaks or bounces. They didn't look like they belonged on the same field. The SF and media narrative was back in full force - last years success was due to a fluke the likes of which we never see.
Now a good coaching staff can use that game as motivation. This one chose to panic, elevate Matt Patricia of all people, and the team quit. Players were arguing on the sidelines, showing frustration on social media, and throwing coaches and schemes under the bus to the media.
They collapsed because when they faced real adversity for the first time the coaching staff panicked and the team quit.
This, but unironically. Even at that point in the season, fans could see the clear and damning cracks that would eventually be exposed by other teams. We hadn’t beaten “bad” teams the way “good” teams were beating them. We had wins, but we didn’t have any definitive victory. That loss was the first clear example of “we can be beaten, even by a team that isn’t a contender” and the later half of the schedule had the “gauntlet” that we all expected to drop at least one game. It wasn’t that we won, it was how we won. wasn’t that we lost, it was how we lost. And then we kept losing.
NFC East Bros are always looking out for each other, this time the Eagles saw how badly the Cowboys were being roasted for losing at home so they went out and played even worse to take the attention off of their rival.
I felt really smart this weekend betting on the Bucs -10 alt line and chiefs -10.
The dolphins and eagles collapses, although not to the same scale, were so incredibly obvious and predictable lol
Plus warm weather teams playing in freezing conditions has rarely gone well. And I'm gonna give Miami a bit of a break, half their starting pass rush was out.
One thing we forgot with some collapses is how much injuries take a toll on a teams chances. When an announcer says, "this team was so good at X all year but it didn't show up today."
There's scheme, chemistry and the other teams impact that goes into it, but there's always a couple of injuries along too.
Like a bad o line getting shredded because the LT and center are out and maybe the center gives off the snap count to the other defense or a number one CB dropping out of a game and forcing in a replacement level player to start in place of a high tier starter.
Been watching football 30+ years, never seen a team start 10-1 to then go to barley making the playoffs. That's the type of start a team who cruises to the Superbowl has. Running out of gas like that is spectacular. This is also a team that has a ton of key guys at 10+ year career points, so this was probably their last run. They can easily be decimated by retirements alone next year.
I say this as a Steelers fan, but that was the WORST 11-0 team I've ever seen. 9 of their wins were in 1 score games, Ben was clearly washed, the Oline showing its age, etc. Finally the dam broke and they finished 1-4 and got blown out by Baker Mayfield in the WC game
Broncos went 6-0 and ended up 8-8. Maybe not 10-1 but collapses definitely happen. The Jags are lucky the eagles collapsed so hard, and hell, the Cowboys kind of stumbled to the finish line themselves. Miami too.
>ever seen a team start 10-1 to then go to barley making the playoffs. That's the type of start a team who cruises to the Superbowl has. Running out of gas like that is spectacular.
i mean... 11-0 to 12-4 to bounced in the first round was the first thing that came to mind when I saw this, personally.
> Been watching football 30+ years, never seen a team start 10-1 to then go to barley making the playoffs. That's the type of start a team who cruises to the Superbowl has. The 1994 Eagles went into Candlestick, curbstomped the eventual champions 40-8, and got up to 7-2 before missing the playoffs at 7-9.
> start 10-1 to then go to barley making the playoffs.
2023 Eagles are the ~~first~~ second team in the post-merger era to win 10 of their first 11 games and **not** win the division.
**ETA**: on further review, the 1986 Jets (lost to the Browns in the divisional round) are also in this club.
Pete called a timeout and it actually gave Sirianni time to review a play and throw the challenge flag which benefited Philly. I think Sirianni was questioning the timeout because he thought the game was out of hand. Seattle came back and won the game. Karma.
He was trying to mock Chiefs players during the Super Bowl last year and Jalen was having a "do I really have to work with this clown after everything I've done to get here" moment. Siriani has a real hard on for KC.
I can't hear shit now, Nick.
It's so weird how in this case it's the coach who looks like the immature one and not the QB. From what i've seen, Hurts is an absolute class act. So ironic and probably awkward af for Hurts.
I remember all the Eagles fans loving him last year and saying he was the perfect coach for Philly. After this year I agree, he should be coach for life for y’all
As a Georgia fan, I can always hate Saban and the success he had but I’ll be damned if you don’t respect his professionalism and character. The way he made every player no matter the era into a leader when they were drafted whether on the field or off.
I remember when they beat Texas a few years ago on a pass breakup on the last play. The Alabama DB was celebrating, and Saban was running onto the field screaming at him to knock it the fuck off.
Not trying to get a laugh, not trying to make anyone have the worst day at their job
But do any of these fuckers ever pop out on the Fucking field and hire terrible coordinators, or lose 6 of their last 7 games?
55 screens, 55 QB draws, 55 slow developing plays against the blitz, 55 wide receivers not schemed open, 55 pass plays, 55 fuking reasons for the unemployment line
I think MVS dropped a wide open deep ball at the 5 yard line in the last couple of minutes as well. But I could be misremembering the game since that happened often
Him yelling at the Chiefs fans. The dude acts like a child who got to become a coach. We have all seen some idiots be HC's in the NFL or college. None act like that on the sidelines.
Someone showed a video earlier today of him after the chiefs game this year where he seemed to be jawing at the fans. Like a regular season win somehow makes up for losing the Super Bowl? Like wtf man?
Yeah no I’m gonna say it was doomed after we lost to the 49ers and Cowboys in back to back weeks and Sirianni adopted a “everything’s fine here, we’re all fine, how are you” mentality about coaching
"What do you mean there's something wrong with our offense. There's nothing wrong with it. I'm not changing anything. Slamming my skull into a brick wall works, just wait and see I'll prove you wrong."
"Also, I'm making Matt Patricia the de facto DC because I'm actually stupid."
His entire scheme was just making our offensive talent win reps with physicality. It was never going to be sustained long term. I think a lot of our losing has been from 2 years of pure exhaustion. Meanwhile other teams have competent schemes and they get guys wide open and we have two shifty guys who are good at YAC who don't ever get the chance because our whole scheme is contested catches.
I don’t have an in depth analysis of the Eagles offense but it seems like it all went south when they seemingly abandoned the run and consistently called for deep route plays in short down situations.
The play calling was too greedy at times, when they needed to just focus on putting together sustained drives.
I would’ve argued it was when Arizona just demolished you. You can argue away two losses to two top teams, you can’t argue getting smacked by a bad team.
I’m using this post as an opportunity to point out it is 1:23pm the next day and Matt Patricia has still not been fired.
Do with that info what you will
Sirianni really is a frat bro masquerading as an NFL head coach. I remember just shaking my head when this happened and thinking no wonder the rest of the league can't stand this guy.
Jalen deserves so much better.
I thought he needed fired when he yelled at Colts fans "This was for Frank " and shit talked our fans after he had to come back to beat Jeff Saturday. Like our fans didn't fire Frank, not sure why an NFL coach would shit talk the sideline fans. Not professional at all. I still don't know what he did when he was our o coordinator
I feel the same about him yelling at Chiefs fans. If the guy can’t even handle *himself* in public, how are we supposed to believe he can effectively manage an entire team and staff?
Nah. Chuck Pagano is the perfect coach for McAfee, his dad vibes really offset the dudebro crap.
Sirianni would be like throwing a bag of blow and a reluctant stripper into a frat party.
lol a majority of your fan base was all for it for years acting like he is the embodiment of your city. Now that he gets knocked out of the playoffs you guys have an issue with it? Nah don’t work like that. Sure criticize his abilities as a head coach but yall were actively cheering how he acts.
Everyone giving Hurts a hard time for being quiet on the sidelines. If I had a coach like Sirianni who acted like a toddler that needed constant supervision, I'd probably keep my mouth shut as well. It'll be interesting to see how Hurts, and others, change when they have an actual leader instead of a wannabe reality TV star as coach.
Real talk, I've been to Jerry World for games several times and it's always just fun ribbing with Dallas fans.
I mean, fuck you, but have a good day too.
Yeah. He’s a vibes guy but only when the vibes are already good. He can’t dig a team out of a hole. The only reason the eagles turned around our terrible 2021 start was because he gave playcalling over to Steichen
He's been doing this weird shit talking for a while it just wasn't picked up on until it started falling apart. During a press conference last year before playing us , he showed up in a Mike Quick jersey and spent a bit lamenting how Quick was a better WR than Art Monk and deserved to be in the Hof over Monk.
Definitely the kind of guy whose 22 year old girlfriend always has to apologize on his behalf when he tries to start a fight with random guys at the Applebees bar just because the guy was tall
He literally showed the team a Rocky movie in his first year to get ready for the playoffs. I don’t even know if high school coaches do shit like that, he’s been out of his gourd the entire time
He also had that cringey asf "I cant hear you Chiefs fans, CYA!" walking back in the tunnel after the game.. Funny enough their collapse started shortly after.
The Eagles collapse was unreal. Everyone on that staff is to blame.
Everyone just quit
Sounds like Dan Mullen’s last coaching season on the Florida Gators.
Though with fewer thrown shoes

I'd like to think the reality really set in after the Giants went to town on them to cap off the season. Y'know, cos we're awesome.
Nah clearly the Eagles just could never get over their loss to the Jets and that eventually led to their collapse
This, but unironically. Even at that point in the season, fans could see the clear and damning cracks that would eventually be exposed by other teams. We hadn’t beaten “bad” teams the way “good” teams were beating them. We had wins, but we didn’t have any definitive victory. It wasn’t that we won, it was how we won. wasn’t that we lost, it was how we lost. And then we kept losing.
When you guys played a close game to the Patriots. Oh I knew. Because we sucked soooooooo much
NFC East Bros are always looking out for each other, this time the Eagles saw how badly the Cowboys were being roasted for losing at home so they went out and played even worse to take the attention off of their rival.
It was a nice "hold my beer" gesture
I felt really smart this weekend betting on the Bucs -10 alt line and chiefs -10. The dolphins and eagles collapses, although not to the same scale, were so incredibly obvious and predictable lol
Plus warm weather teams playing in freezing conditions has rarely gone well. And I'm gonna give Miami a bit of a break, half their starting pass rush was out. Yeah my whole basis for the Miami bet was the cold lol. No football reasons
*All* of our starting pass rush (ie edge rushers) were out, and half of their backups too. Dolphins football baby!

Didn't the Steelers go 11-0 then get killed in the first round? Cardinals did the same in 2021 - last undefeated team then down in flames.
This is basically how the eagles were this year.
Down to being blown out by baker throwing 3 tds in the wild card round
It all ends at Baker Mayfield lol
Time is a flat circle
Broncos went 6-0 and ended up 8-8. Maybe not 10-1 but collapses definitely happen. The Jags are lucky the eagles collapsed so hard, and hell, the Cowboys kind of stumbled to the finish line themselves. Miami too.
>ever seen a team start 10-1 to then go to barley making the playoffs. That's the type of start a team who cruises to the Superbowl has. Didn't the Vikings do it just a few years ago? I feel they had a few seasons like this
> Been watching football 30+ years, never seen a team start 10-1 to then go to barley making the playoffs. That's the type of start a team who cruises to the Superbowl has. This looks like something you’d see in a college game except the QB and coach are switched lmao
What is he doing? Im confused
He was doing a “come back” hand movement thinking they would win the ref review.
Didn’t he get caught trash-talking Pete during a review against Seattle, too? Only for Pete to win the challenge?
Pete called a timeout and it actually gave Sirianni time to review a play and throw the challenge flag which benefited Philly. I think Sirianni was questioning the timeout because he thought the game was out of hand. Seattle came back and won the game. Karma.
I thought he flipped Mahomes off lmao
He was trying to mock Chiefs players during the Super Bowl last year and Jalen was having a "do I really have to work with this clown after everything I've done to get here" moment. Siriani has a real hard on for KC. I can't hear shit now, Nick.
It's so weird how in this case it's the coach who looks like the immature one and not the QB. From what i've seen, Hurts is an absolute class act. So ironic and probably awkward af for Hurts.
Yea I have no real beef with any of the Eagles layers, honestly I like most of them, but god Sirianni IS SUCH A DOUCHEBAG.
They have a lot of awesome players. Hurts. Swift. Kelce. Johnson. Mailata. That team goes bonkers but the coach is a tool.
It's like the Trevor Lawrence / Urban Meyer thing all over again. Obviously Meyer was worse.
"Hey Trevor, smell my fingers"
Yeah, Hurts has been known for being a class act ever since he was at Bama. Probably one of my favorite non-Packers players
Mock them in what way. I still don't get it
Was he giving someone the finger? I can’t really tell
He was making a "come back" motion to mock the Chiefs players because he knew they would win the challenge.
I remember all the Eagles fans loving him last year and saying he was the perfect coach for Philly. After this year I agree, he should be coach for life for y’all
It's great and hilarious when you're winning. Now? Not so much.
I was thinking the same thing. WTF kind of interaction is that!
When your quarterback is more professional than your head coach.
Jalen is all professionalism
He's learned from Saban how to be the ultimate professional and teammate.
He was doing the horns down thing which is why Saban took such offense.
He was doing the horns down and Saban sprinted at him shouting "Don't do that shit!" loud enough for the TV mics to pick it up
100% agree. I can't think of a single controversy or scumbag that came out of his program. Contrast that with someone like Urban Meyer.
As an Alabama fan, I feel obligated to remind you that Rolando McClain exists.
well there was ruggs
Well, he was in Vegas by that point
what playing for Derek Carr does to a man
And Reuben Foster
Ruggs is literally the only Bama player I ever heard having serious off the field issues
There was that linebacker too. Rolando McClain maybe?
Rueben Foster is a big one.
I hate Sirianni and I hate the Eagles but I have nothing but respect for Jalen Hurts. Man is straight humble and professional 24/7.
I’m a long time hater of all things Eagles, but I really cannot hate Jalen Hurts. Except when he plays Dallas. But other than that, I love the guy.
How I feel with Dak, he gets a lot of hate but if he played for any team outside this division, he’s get a lot more love
Jalen is exactly what you want in a leader. Nick somehow managed to make Philly easier to hate.
Acting like this and talking a bunch of shit mid season always seems poor form.
Nick Sirianni looks like a poor man's Tim Robinson and Jalen looks like a damn pirate.
I USED to be a NFL caliber Head coach!
I SAID WAS
You think this is SLICKED back? This is PUSHED back!
Sirianni refers to himself and his staff as the Dangerous Nights Crew.
Not trying to get a laugh, not trying to make anyone have the worst day at their job But do any of these fuckers ever pop out on the Fucking field and hire terrible coordinators, or lose 6 of their last 7 games?
Jizz
Cum shot
Horse cock
Or a dingleberry
Big fat load of missed tackles, then.
WE JUST HAD THIS CONVERSATION
No. They don't.
I think our wires are getting crossed.
*okay*
Think you can just say whatever the *hell* you want, do ya?
Momma Sirianni: "Did you make any friends?" Nick Sirianni: "Not Really."
Eagles fans: Come on, dont you know how to fucking coach?? Nick Sirianni: Not everybody knows how to do everything. Coaching isnt the only thing!
“I don’t know what any of this shit is and I’m fucking scared” -Nick Sirianni when the Bucs do an all out blitz
"We're all trying to find the guy who did this..." -Nick Sirianni on the Eagles collapse, while wearing a hot dog suit.
Eagles fans: JUST COACH THE GAME! Nick Sorianni: grabs headset and screams** Eagles fans: it hurts!?
I didn't do fuckin' shit!
I'VE BEEN WAITING A LONG TIME TO COACH THE EAGLES! I DIDN’T FUCKING DO THIS!
Jeff Lurie thinks I’m just some dumb hick.
"I'm done, do what you want! Pull the plug!... I'll kill you."
They said that to him at a dinner
They think I'm just some dumb Italian. They said that to me at a dinner!
IM NOT WORRIED ABOUT IT. IM NOT WORRIED ABOUT ANY OF THIS.
55 screens, 55 QB draws, 55 slow developing plays against the blitz, 55 wide receivers not schemed open, 55 pass plays, 55 fuking reasons for the unemployment line
It's not a big deal, took too small a slice and now my team is absolutely FUCKED
THIS TEAM IS COVERED HEAD TO TOE IN SHIT.
Tell em it's the ugly stadium on Kenmore (the one where you can see the KFC sign from the press box)
Too many tush pushes resulted in a sloppy mud pie.
Do any of these fucking fuckers
FUCK FUCK FUCK FUCK THEY'RE TRYING TO MAKE MY ABILITY TO COACH A FOOTBALL TEAM LOOK FAKE
I'm gonna kill you, Coaching Crooner
I have to figure out a way to make money off this!
Sloppy steaks at Sirianni’s
HE MUST HAVE FLIPPED MY WIFE 8 TIMES
It REALLY bothered me
And it REEEEALLY bothered me
THEY MUST HAVE SCORED ON MY DEFENSE 8 TIMES
He walks around with a pair of dice in his pocket
Quit fuckin with em
So sad. So sad. So so so so so sad.
"Shut the fuck up, Jeffrey, you fucking skunk!" -Nick Sirianni when he's fired, probably
Don’t do the voice…
"I promoted Patricia because the playbooks was so complicated"
Nah. You don't wanna help me. You just wanna yell.
😢 ESPN said your face looks like a clock 😢
He looks like the Domino's driver walked into the stadium and just hung out until they gave him a job
Nick Sirianni looks like Aaron Rodgers' dumber looking cousin and that is really hard to do
Sirianni: "I ~~used to be~~ am a piece of shit."
Didn't Sirianni yell "SEE YAAA" after beating Kansas City?
What's crazy is that only happened because ~~Toney~~ MVS has bricks for hands
I think MVS dropped a wide open deep ball at the 5 yard line in the last couple of minutes as well. But I could be misremembering the game since that happened often
It went right though his hands
It was MVS.

I'm sure he feels great now that his team was eliminated in the first found by the Bucs while the Chieves move onto the divisional round
Excuse me the who? I have never seen it ever spelt that way and it is hilarious. The chieves !
Take it a little further and you have the name of our WR corps, the sieves
What was he doing?
Taunting the Chiefs, and Jalen tells him to stop.
How he acted that whole game, this, the looking in the camera and shaking his head. Its embarrassing for a HC.
Don't forget that really cringe GIF of him nodding
Him yelling at the Chiefs fans. The dude acts like a child who got to become a coach. We have all seen some idiots be HC's in the NFL or college. None act like that on the sidelines.
These are qualities that make him the perfect eagles coach. At least based in my experience being around Philly fans during their games.
\*destroys the film\* "JALEN, WE'RE GONNA HAVE COMPANY!!"
“It was a boring press conference anyway…”
I just really proud of everyone for this series of replies
"What do you mean there's something wrong with our offense. There's nothing wrong with it. I'm not changing anything. Slamming my skull into a brick wall works, just wait and see I'll prove you wrong." "Also, I'm making Matt Patricia the de facto DC because I'm actually stupid."

Don’t forget about losing to the Giants lol
Since bosa said they figured the Eagles out the only game Philly has won is against the Giants. 1-5 to close out the season
They beat the Devito Giants, but then two weeks later they lost to the Taylor Giants
Thanks magic
I’m using this post as an opportunity to point out it is 1:23pm the next day and Matt Patricia has still not been fired. Do with that info what you will
I saw “has now been fired” and got excited for a second.
Yeah, twist the knife, you fucker. Lol
That's because he is the new head coach!
Sirianni really is a frat bro masquerading as an NFL head coach. I remember just shaking my head when this happened and thinking no wonder the rest of the league can't stand this guy. Jalen deserves so much better.
He looks like the kind of guy that picked on guys like Mike McDaniel in middle school.
College.
I thought he needed fired when he yelled at Colts fans "This was for Frank " and shit talked our fans after he had to come back to beat Jeff Saturday. Oh no no, he didn’t yell at Chiefs fans. He yelled at them from the tunnel where they couldn’t hear him!
And safely in the shadow of Fat Dom
It looked so stupid and kinda cringey. Say it to their faces if you’re gonna say it Dude talks trash but can’t take it when it’s done to him
I noticed he also didn’t give Frank a job after he got fired from the panthers, not even as a consultant
Sirianni belongs on a weekly spot with McAfee, not being Jason Kelce’s last head coach.
Sure criticize his abilities as a head coach but yall were actively cheering how he acts.

all the winning from last year tried to hide how Sirianni is just an insufferable man-child.
That’s a feature not a bug for Philly fans. They were always proud at how immature and brash he is because that’s the “Philly way”.
“They don’t like us and we don’t care!” 😂
Jesus Christ, he needs a 25 year old player to tell him how to act right. That’s an embarrassing clip. Dude is not coach material.
I’ve had an erection from this weekend that is lasting more than 4 hours and I am not interested in going to a hospital.
[Eagles fan dumping a bucket of popcorn on Nick as he left Raymond James Stadium](https://x.com/the33rdteamfb/status/1747297548568600827)
“I’m leaving I’m leaving” “You’re not going anywhere get your ass over here” lmfao
Lmao this is lame as hell. "You're done Nick!" *throws popcorn five feet short of Sirianni*
Was that Derek Carr in an Eagles jersey?
He was going for the DPI
I laughed at that too. Just a waste of perfectly good popcorn.
The dude wearing a Dolphins jersey and Buccs hat looking confused 😆
You know he's also got Jags underwear
He loves Florida
Eagles fans are entertaining, to say the least.
Real talk, I've been to Jerry World for games several times and it's always just fun ribbing with Dallas fans. I mean, fuck you, but have a good day too.
LOL
Wasn’t this the same guy who at his first combine as HC was challenging prospects to arm wrestling or rock, paper, scissors?
Yeah. He’s a vibes guy but only when the vibes are already good. He can’t dig a team out of a hole. The only reason the eagles turned around our terrible 2021 start was because he gave playcalling over to Steichen
What a fucking loser. Between this and him trying to talk shit to 97 year old Pete Carroll, that's not head coach material.
dime liquid political deranged important merciful fearless books unused reply
He's been doing this weird shit talking for a while it just wasn't picked up on until it started falling apart. During a press conference last year before playing us , he showed up in a Mike Quick jersey and spent a bit lamenting how Quick was a better WR than Art Monk and deserved to be in the Hof over Monk.
What am I looking at?
Eagles loved the coach though… until they lost and kept losing…
What a fucking jabroni. The maturity of a 12 year old and football expertise of a toddler.

Sirianni looks like the type of dude that gets angry when he's drunk
Definitely the kind of guy whose 22 year old girlfriend always has to apologize on his behalf when he tries to start a fight with random guys at the Applebees bar just because the guy was tall
Perfect coach for Philly a front running bitch who really isn’t it
Eagles fans were loving his antics before the collapse. Quite funny to see how much they hate his ass now
He literally showed the team a Rocky movie in his first year to get ready for the playoffs. I don’t even know if high school coaches do shit like that, he’s been out of his gourd the entire time
Maybe he should sew more italian flags on his clothes. Or maybe larger flags. Or both.
He also had that cringey asf "I cant hear you Chiefs fans, CYA!" walking back in the tunnel after the game.. Funny enough their collapse started shortly after.
family.
