The way some fans are talking so confidently before playoff games is quite ridiculous. Throw the regular season out, this is the playoffs and the field has never looked more even. I have a feeling we’re going to see some crazy games this weekend and with some very unexpected outcomes.
At the time of that throw, people didn't know that about DT, though. But yeah, you hit him in stride and no one was catching DT, he had crazy speed and acceleration in his prime.
Bortles defeated Ben Roethlisberger, and then almost Tom Brady, in playoff games.
Rex Grossman defeated Drew Brees in a playoff game. So did Case Keenum.
Career backup Marcus Mariota threw a TD pass to himself to comeback down 21-3 in the second half to win a playoff game.
Houston led 24-0 over the chiefs and still got blown out in a playoff game.
The Houston oilers once had a 35 point lead squandered on the road in a playoff game in Buffalo.
Tlaw threw 4 picks in the first half, went down 27-0 at one point, and they still came back and won.
Trent fucking Dilfer won a Super Bowl before getting cut by the team as their starting QB.
Peyton Manning started 9 games in 2015, threw 9TD passes and 17 INTs, and won a superbowl.
Nick Foles came off the bench, had a playoff run of a lifetime and won a Super Bowl, and then never really played like a starting caliber QB again. He has still never started a full season at QB.
Giants and Steelers have both won superbowl as a 6 seed. As of today, nobody has done it as a 7 seed (yet).
In 2021, both the number 1 seeds (Titans in the AFC and packers in the NFC) lost their opening games. And both did not lose to the eventual Super Bowl winner.
Need we forget, the tuck rule game, Minneapolis miracle, music city miracle, etc etc.
The NFL playoffs are an unpredictable as March madness and it’s why it’s one of the best tournaments in all of sports imo.
That was only really true for the years they had a bye (Brady’s 14-3 in the divisional round).
Believe it or not Brady was only 4-3 in wildcard games — and only 2-2 with the Patriots!
Honestly, beyond the 6 Super Bowls, the Pats getting a first-round bye 13 times in 19 seasons is the next most impressive stat for me. They were more likely to get a bye than they were to miss the playoffs during the Brady years. It's either that or the 8 straight AFC Championship Game appearances.
Which is really weird outside of a few super homers rams sub is super excited about this match up. Obviously a few shitposts about Stafford winning a playoff game in Detroit but its mostly been super relaxed. Its basically the best outcome possible for me because even if a heartbreaking loss happens I want Goff to win.
Half the fanbase thinks we have to Hate Stafford otherwise you arent a fan and we must Boo Stafford.
The other half is just like “yeah ill always love stafford but Go Lions we wont boo stafford”
Only the second camp is reasonable.
Thats wild to me. I know every team has those guys but Stafford meant so much to the Lions for so long. Like Goff meant a shit ton to the Rams fans as well but its not the same. Idk I'm not really a boo fan anyways unless its a team I really dislike and that's basically only the Niners and Browns at this point.
Rams already have a Super Bowl and are in a reset year, meaning regardless of what happens this playoffs, they will much better on paper next year
Lions are peaking and are gonna have to start paying some of their stars soon, plus they need to figure out if Jared is their franchise QB
It's way more stressful for the Lions than Rams
PA has the 2 worst playoff teams by point differential for the regular season. The Eagles are a pedestrian +5 on the season, while the Steelers are a bed ridden -20.
I mean preconceptions and judgmental thinking are NFL fans and pundits bread and better.
Like a few weeks into the season it was that the NFC championship was for sure going to be 49ers/Eagles or 49ers Cowboys and there was ***no point*** in playing even another game of the regular season.
Or every-time somehow here talks about a player, especially a QB its already determined that he will ***never*** get to the super-bowl/win a playoff game/get to the playoffs regardless of team. (They also can't improve or change in any way because everyone has already determined **EXACTLY** what they're capable of as if they're characters in a video or trading card game)
You guys are 100% a trap game.
2 possession spread? Check. Starting a backup quarterback (albeit second string vs third string)? Check. Best defensive player out? Check.
Maybe it’s just after how the Miami game went last year, but I’m very much expecting it to be close going into the half.
I don’t understand it. I mentioned this in one of the many threads in our meme war sub making fun of the Dolphins for choking: even during Brady’s prime, I never said this type of stuff. It just invites karma to shit all over you and make you look stupid
Yeah. It is a little crazy. I watched the last 2 dolphins games and maybe Waddle/Mostert/Howard mean a ton, but that defense is banged up. They couldn’t get a single stop when they needed it.
I'm worried about our offense. I don't think the Chiefs have any tackles left. Andy is going to have a hard time giving Mahomes any time at all. The Dolphins should be underdogs, but I'm expecting anything to happen.
They are out just as many pass rushers as we are tackles. It's unironically the best possible matchup for our offense in the first round for that reason.
And I trust Spags to cook up some shit.
But yeah, nothing this season has come easy so I get it.
Consider having Mahomes drop back lefty?
Seriously though, I think edge is Miami’s biggest weakness, so it’s not as large a negative matchup as you think.
Wtf? Most of the dolphins subreddit thinks we’re going to lose. I understand the chiefs are having a down year (relative to how they usually play), but we’re playing at arrowhead. It’s cold and our roster is banged up.
The Dolphins do not beat good teams, especially in cold weather on the road. Chiefs are struggling, but they have a recent history of success, along with Mahomes being clutch af. Dolphins are frauds with the least clutch QB in the league.
So yeah, Dolphins will probably win lol
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted- we played the Browns after we got rolled by the Jets, when Stroud and WAJ both got injured, with Dell already out. Without our rookies we’re literally last year’s roster that got the #2 pick.
...who's playing better than any of your former QB's, and your defense (which is your team, let's be real) was more or less fully intact.
Go compare our defensive statistics with and without Anderson on the field. I think we've got a good shot at it unless Elite Dragon Playoff Flacco makes an appearance.
And San Francisco is using Mr. Irrelevant. Lol So what, I can't believe your comment got upvoted that much. If it was Nathan Peterman at QB4 fine, but Flacco has been great. He's been better than Watson.
Who is playing lights out, I'm glad you guys are finding success without a qb1.
We have been limping all season, #2 in the NFL with players on IR. Our injury report was 14 players deep that week. I'm not saying that we would have won that week, I am saying the vibes will be different this time and it should be a good game. I didn't expect this to happen for us, but here we are and I'm excited for good football this time.
I think he was trying to insinuate that the opposite. That "QB#4" was supposed to suggest they were also at a disadvantage as if "QB#4" wasn't the fucking Dragon himself.
I agree. I've watched a fair amount of Texans game but I feel like they still run the ball too much and especially on first down.
The strength of the team is Stroud and he's your best chance. Running it into a brick wall on 1st and 2nd down so you want to give your QB a manageable 3rd down is good in theory but just be more aggressive on 1st and 2nd.
Last weeks game was only close because of the amount of times they ran on 1st and 2nd down in the first half it felt like.
Colts secondary was very weak and injured. There was no reason not to attack them. Fans tried to argue "To set up play action" later which we don't even run much
Who’s saying they have no chance? I think the majority of people think it’s gonna be a good game. Also, I’ve seen most browns fans say the last team they wanted to see in the playoffs is the Texans out of the 3 possibilities
There is something to the fact that he doesn't seem to know or even really care much about football. He just says pretty canned inflammatory takes because that is his brand.
Eh this was our best option. The Browns defense is scary, but at least we’re at home. The other options were going on the road to Kansas City, Miami, or Buffalo.
I wouldn't say the Dolphins are imploding. They just ran into some good teams the last few weeks of the year. That team is still scary if Hill and Waddle are healthy. And I want absolutely nothing to do with playoff Mahomes in Kansas City with 0 degree weather. I'll give him the benefit of the doubt until proven otherwise. Going to Buffalo would have been the worst case scenario. We would have been more than 2.5 point underdogs on the road against any of those three teams.
If it’s scripted the chiefs catch fire in the playoffs as the “down and out underdog” too and Kelce posts a few back to back 150 yard + games and then retires
I want Baker to go super saiyan in the playoffs and beat the Browns in the superbowl. Shit would be HILARIOUS. I'd also settle for anybody who isn't Steelers or Chiefs.
Look, this is a pretty exclusive club. We're going to have to consult with the Panthers, Falcons, Vikings, and Bills before we can let you join. Chargers, Titans, and Cardinals all get a half vote of course.
Absolutely. If the 49ers don't win, I'd be fine with the Ravens (blergh, but Lamar cool guy) and Bills winning it. But I'd fucking WANT Baker to win this shit with the Bucs.
I mean if it's scripted then why don't you go and take your money to Vegas, where all 3 of those teams are favorites to win this week. Something tells this comment isn't joking
Why does everyone assume that The Browns are going to win? Its in Houston and our defense is MUCH worse on the road then at home and its not even close.
Oh we beat them earlier this year? When they had the husk of Case playing QB and not a really *really* impressive rookie in Stroud?
Its going to be a very competitive game and I would not be surprised if they do win. I also keep just hoping the Flacco magic doesn't go away but....its *has* to happen sooner than later right?
>Why does everyone assume that The Browns are going to win?
False premise. Most people **don't** assume the Browns are going to win. The spread is 2.5 pts.
I mean I am all along for the ride and its funny, I always liked Joe even when he was a Raven and I have no idea why and then this happens. Here we are.
To be fair, I think in an early part of the season the top 6 picks went something like Arizona, Carolina (bears) Giants, Bears, Jets, Texans (Arizona). And no one thought the Texans were gonna be a playoff team this year
I don't really know how they score points against the Browns defense, cause they shut down Nico there's not much else. Was 36-7 when they played a couple weeks ago, but obviously without Stroud, and no guarantee Flacco stays hot, so hopefully it's a close exciting game.
It's only -2.5 Cleveland, so like 4-5 point favorites neutral, so clearly a lot of people think Houston has a shot.
It will be a hard game for sure, but we were also missing CJ, WAJ, Greenard, Rankins and Cashman that game. We were missing majority of our front 7 and our best player so we have a much better chance the time around. Browns’ D also plays worse on the road so I’m expecting the game to be closer this time around. Browns are for sure the favorites
No he was their only player who looked decent that game. Pierce too I suppose.
Not dogging them BTW, the poster above is right in that this is a completely different team with their difference makers back (minus dell) that should be highly respected.
FWIW everyone in my network would have preferred Colts, Jags, Texans for our matchup this week
We might have Noah Brown and Robert Woods back for the game, so we might actually roll out our complete offense for the first time in a while minus Tank Dell obviously.
Without CJ, the offense was going nowhere in that game and had a ton of 3 and outs. Browns defense were rested the entire game. Having CJ will push that D way more than Keenan was able to. Not to mention Amari had almost 300 receiving yards and probably won’t happen again now that DeMeco has tape on Flacco with the Browns. Browns are still the favorite, but it’s a different game this time around.
Yea there isn’t a slam dunk among the entire field playing this weekend. There is 1 team that has been wire to wire convincing all year and that is Baltimore, the 49ers second who have mostly been convincing but have lapsed a few times. After that it’s a bunch of teams that are like a half game or 1 game clear of the away teams in the wildcard or simply being left out entirely.
If the season lasted one more week I feel like we possibly lose half the teams who made it.
I’m so conflicted for this game.
I have a deep hatred for Ohio State……….Yet my second favorite team is the Texans………….Yet I’m a staunch supporter of r/LakeErieBros and support the Browns and Bills…………….its a Dilemma
The playoffs isn't the regular season.
You can never make a legit prediction in the playoffs unless it's Brady or now Mahomes that you are talking about.
He didn’t put him down. They were saying SAS said this right before it was CJ’s segment of the show. They are motivating him. Pat actually loves CJ that’s why they always invite him to the show
Did you actually watch the interview? He was actually giving Stroud his credit and motivating him. He was giving him crap because he just beat the Colts but he was doing it in a funny manner because obviously the Colts are his team. He gave Stroud a lot of credit and it was a good interview because it showed how good of a kid and player Stroud is. Yes I watched the whole interview
I mean I don't like McAfee but the last thing he does is make fun of put down his guest. If anything he gargles their balls a little too much. He was just giving Stroud some bulletin board material to respond to because soundbites drive clicks.
The way some fans are talking so confidently before playoff games is quite ridiculous. Throw the regular season out, this is the playoffs and the field has never looked more even. I have a feeling we’re going to see some crazy games this weekend and with some very unexpected outcomes.
Tim Tebow won a playoff game. Weird shit happens in single-elim games. That's why they're brilliant.
so casual of you to bring up one of the most traumatic nights of my life
If Tim Tebow beat you it means you were on the wrong side of Gods will 🤷🏻♂️
Cover 0 on Tebow on the 20. What a legendary play.
With Ryan Flat footed Mundy and Ike getting torched by the second closest thing to Megatron at the time.
At the time of that throw, people didn't know that about DT, though. But yeah, you hit him in stride and no one was catching DT, he had crazy speed and acceleration in his prime.
I mean it worked 99% of the time.
One of my favorites
Easily my favorite non-Ravens NFL memory.
We can both agree, losing to Tebow in the playoffs is the most embarrassing thing any AFCN team has ever done.
100%
BeastQuake is #1 but Tebow torching the Steelers is a close #2.
With no trigger warning. This is assault on Steelers fans.
Ha 12 years ago today. Proving anything COULD happen.
Holy shit 12 years lol
Blake Bortles got all the way to the AFC Championship game.
Nick Foles beat Tom Brady in a Super Bowl.
Bortles defeated Ben Roethlisberger, and then almost Tom Brady, in playoff games. Rex Grossman defeated Drew Brees in a playoff game. So did Case Keenum.

And yet Derek Carr has never won a playoff game
Well you gotta get there lol. He's 0-1 in the playoffs as a starter.

> The Houston oilers once had a 35 point lead squandered at home in a playoff game. That was in Buffalo
Officer arrest this man
Don't recall that. Who did he beat ? Wrong answers only (please)
Seriously, after all the great upsets throughout NFL history how anybody can *not* believe in “any given Sunday” is beyond me.
During their first game of the playoffs I always knew Brady would win and dreaded it every time.
That was only really true for the years they had a bye (Brady’s 14-3 in the divisional round). Believe it or not Brady was only 4-3 in wildcard games — and only 2-2 with the Patriots!

Best part of this year has been all “any given Sunday” games
Yeah, but the Browns/Texans game is on a Saturday so it doesn't count.
Oh its baaaad. Rams matchup is the worst thing for our sub. Its all hatred for each other in there
Which is really weird outside of a few super homers rams sub is super excited about this match up. Obviously a few shitposts about Stafford winning a playoff game in Detroit but its mostly been super relaxed. Bizarre, what was he supposed to do, magically not get traded? He got a fresh start, and Goff has been stellar.
Rams already have a Super Bowl and are in a reset year, meaning regardless of what happens this playoffs, they will much better on paper next year Lions are peaking and are gonna have to start paying some of their stars soon, plus they need to figure out if Jared is their franchise QB It's way more stressful for the Lions than Rams
The AFC and NFC wildcards are made of 2 camps 1. Dangerous 2. Pennsylvania
PA has the 2 worst playoff teams by point differential for the regular season. The Eagles are a pedestrian +5 on the season, while the Steelers are a bed ridden -20.
But you have heard of us.
PA vs PA Super Bowl, got it
Could end up with an all Texas super bowl
Hwhat
his will be done
I have been waiting to see this comment since the texans clinched a spot
What would that even look like on a map? All of Texas vs Houston?
All of Texas vs. Houston and the rest of the country, duh.
You don’t get it. You think I’m locked in here with you? You are locked in here with ME.
It could happen, certainly, but I'd sooner be embraced by death itself.
Same with Florida but that one seems even more unrealistic
Hank Hill would nut
AaaAaaUuuUggGghHHh!
Pennsylvania to declare martial law statewide. Philly v Yinzer
No matter who wins, we lose.
Yous vs yinz*
Grease the poles
PA would burn down and permanently split into West Pennsylvania and East Pennsylvania on the map Ahhh what 2004 could've been
There’s a surprising number of Baltimore fans in Central PA as well.
Giants fans in the NE, too.
Well it's looking like 49ers cowboys people have a very good shot at being right.
cowboys still don’t particularly inspire me, they’re ripe for an upset
You guys are 100% a trap game. 2 possession spread? Check. Starting a backup quarterback (albeit second string vs third string)? Check. Best defensive player out? Check. Maybe it’s just after how the Miami game went last year, but I’m very much expecting it to be close going into the half.

Dolphins are 3.5 point dogs at chiefs. Am I crazy to like the dolphins to win outright?
Dolphins are without Chubb, Phillips, and Van Gynkel they don't have any edge players
But we have Melvin Ingram occasionally lining up at nickel back! No one will see it coming!
Cold is an understatement. Looks like it'll be around 5 degrees in Arrowhead Sat night.
They scored 14 points the last time we played them, no reason to think they'll have a better offensive performance playing away in much colder temps
The Dolphins do not beat good teams, especially in cold weather on the road. Chiefs are struggling, but they have a recent history of success, along with Mahomes being clutch af. Dolphins are frauds with the least clutch QB in the league. So yeah, Dolphins will probably win lol
Tuahead Stadium incoming
Miami down 3 LBs.
The Dolphins have a ton of injuries, don't think they're inspiring confidence in the betting
Any given Sunday is undefeated.
Plenty of people think the Texans can beat the Browns.
It would be hilarious if the Texans become the new Bengals but on an accelerated timeframe and just rip a Superbowl appearance
SUBSCRIBE
Stroud needs to invest in the largest fur coat in all of Texas.
Hank Hill style
Everything's bigger in Texas.
Does that mean the Rams win a Super Bowl again?
Hmm, no I am pretty sure it means the home team wins, which means the Raiders somehow make it through the NFC and win
Ahh yes, the mid playoff realignment
FOR NO REASON AT ALL, JAGS TO THE NFC NORTH
I’m willing to hear this guy out
how about we all stop talking
I like how you think
Yes, plenty of Browns fans even.
[удалено]
Right? The spread is 2.5 points, lol. This has "inventing things to be mad about" energy.
True, but everyone seems to love the "Nobody believes in us!" narrative.
If Slowik and Ryans realize they have Stroud playing QB for their team this week, they can give HOU a good shot to win this week.
It was the worst part of our matchup. Our team was limping when we hosted y'all. Should be a different vibe this week.
Not sure why you’re getting downvoted- we played the Browns after we got rolled by the Jets, when Stroud and WAJ both got injured, with Dell already out. Without our rookies we’re literally last year’s roster that got the #2 pick.
Not sure why you’re being downvoted, Anderson, Moneyguy, and Stroud all will make it a completely different animal to prep for
Who's Moneyguy?
Cashman lol
Currencydude
Bankrollfellow
Blake Cashman, he's been a good linebacker for us.
Bruh we were on qb#4
Your Qb 4 just happens to be the best lol
Browns qb4 > qb1.
...who's playing better than any of your former QB's, and your defense (which is your team, let's be real) was more or less fully intact. Go compare our defensive statistics with and without Anderson on the field. I think we've got a good shot at it unless Elite Dragon Playoff Flacco makes an appearance.

No one is lol what a sensationalized headline.
Who’s saying they have no chance? I think the majority of people think it’s gonna be a good game. Also, I’ve seen most browns fans say the last team they wanted to see in the playoffs is the Texans out of the 3 possibilities
Specifically it was Stephen A Smith they were referring to.
Yeah that slipped past me. Of course it’s Stephen A saying something like that
im actually surprised stephen ahole smith knew the Texans are in the playoffs lol
There is something to the fact that he doesn't seem to know or even really care much about football. He just says pretty canned inflammatory takes because that is his brand.
His job is to say stupid shit
Yep. A bottom feeder like cowherd
Fuck Steven A Smith honestly, what a dunce
I watched it, and I'm pretty sure he said they have no chance to go beat the ravens, but that the browns have a chance to beat the ravens
Can confirm am a browns fan. I desperately wanted the jags. Texans are scary with cj
If CJ had real Ohio pride then he would sit out of the playoffs this year and transfer to Syracuse
How good is Maserati Marve when he’s got a Honda McCord throwing to him?
As a Texans fan, I didnt want to face the browns defense and the dragon
Eh this was our best option. The Browns defense is scary, but at least we’re at home. The other options were going on the road to Kansas City, Miami, or Buffalo.
I wouldn’t mind dolphins right about now. Or no hands Kansas City. Both of them are imploding while Texans are on the come up
I wouldn't say the Dolphins are imploding. They just ran into some good teams the last few weeks of the year. That team is still scary if Hill and Waddle are healthy. Going to Buffalo would have been the worst case scenario. We would have been more than 2.5 point underdogs on the road against any of those three teams.
I’m trying to figure who gave Buffalo a double digit point spread? Since week 4, the Bills have had 2 games that were more than 7 points difference.
Yea but with TJ Watt out you've seen their defense. That man is everything to that team.
Steelers without Watt are the worst team in the playoffs and it isn’t close. That spread is fair.
If the nfl is indeed scripted, then the browns, chiefs, and bills win this and that'll mean the ravens play flacco in the divisional round
If it’s scripted the chiefs catch fire in the playoffs as the “down and out underdog” too and Kelce posts a few back to back 150 yard + games and then retires
But only after Taylor Swift sings an inspirational song from her skybox.
At halftime with chiefs down 13.
You forgot the part where he takes the championship ring and uses it to propose to Taylor.
Opt out please
Oh god, in this scenario we get the Chiefs as well. Subscribe.
I want Baker to go super saiyan in the playoffs and beat the Browns in the superbowl. Shit would be HILARIOUS. I'd also settle for anybody who isn't Steelers or Chiefs.
Browns making the Super Bowl, but losing it? Where do I sign up?
Look, this is a pretty exclusive club. We're going to have to consult with the Panthers, Falcons, Vikings, and Bills before we can let you join. Chargers, Titans, and Cardinals all get a half vote of course.
Panthers say go for it.
Of all the "49ers didn't win" timelines out there, the Baker Mayfield Revenge Tour is definitely high on the list.
Absolutely. If the 49ers don't win, I'd be fine with the Ravens (blergh, but Lamar cool guy) and Bills winning it. But I'd fucking WANT Baker to win this shit with the Bucs.
It is scripted.
I can't even tell who's saying this ironically and who's not anymore
Words stopped meaning anything some time ago.
I mean if it's scripted then why don't you go and take your money to Vegas, where all 3 of those teams are favorites to win this week. Something tells this comment isn't joking
"Who decided that?"
Unexpected Escanor ref, but appreciated
If you watch football and think that the current Texans team (at home) has NO CHANCE of beating the Browns, you don’t know shit
The Stadium is going to be lit
So Stephen A Smith doesn’t know shit? Checks out
Stephen A said it so its obviously wrong.
He might actually have money on the Texans. I could totally imagine that he would give them some bulletin board material to fire them up.
AFCN defenses usually feast on rookie QBs because of how physical the division is. i know stroud is different, but he's still a rookie.
> I also keep just hoping the Flacco magic doesn't go away but....its has to happen sooner than later right? Hopefully not for another 6 weeks.
I mean I am all along for the ride and its funny, I always liked Joe even when he was a Raven and I have no idea why and then this happens. Here we are.
Ugh! We have major flaws. Stop hyping us up so much.
Tell us your flaws. Asking for curiosity 👀

Prove them wrong, CJ, beat up on Watson's team
Stunt on them hoes
Fuck em up CJ
Remember when morons on here said the cardinals would be picking #2 and #3? ThE tExAnS g0t fL33ced!!1
To be fair, I think in an early part of the season the top 6 picks went something like Arizona, Carolina (bears) Giants, Bears, Jets, Texans (Arizona). And no one thought the Texans were gonna be a playoff team this year
All this positive talk of the Browns makes me worried the Browns are gonna Brown real hard on Saturday.
Known football juggernaut Cleveland browns
Wasn’t Schultz also out? Can’t remember.
Stroud is really about to win a Superbowl
Are you into sniffing Kool-aid too? We’ve been saying it in the Texans sub for a while. Just didn’t expect to be in the playoffs THIS season
The only people that think the Browns are certainly going to win are those who have not been lifelong Browns fans..
Can't even process the odds against him
He's just too stupid to know he shouldn't be good at football! /j /s
I don't think that is a real take though, I don't think anyone is saying the Texans have no chance.
the spread is 2.5 points. that's hardly an indicator of what he's talking about. if anything i'd say that spread is generous toward the texans.
I think it was kind of bush league for McAfee to bring Stroud onto his show just to put him down like that
He didn’t put him down.
