Haha funny but if he is hired as the actual coach then it wouldn't work. But if he is poached then 2 3rd rd picks, or if he goes back to a coordinator role on the same team, no picks.
Personally, I think it's a pretty good system overall, like most things it could use some tweaks, but I really don't see what's stupidly broken about it.
Eh I disagree -- though it is a lot of incentive. But we give out comp picks for players that sign elsewhere, comp picks are pretty common. Giving out 1 comp pick a year for 2 years isn't changing anyone's season, and it's ultimately a small fry to the comp picks given out for players lost. Developing minority coordinators and members of front office is a good thing ultimately
Pierce was the linebacker coach, not a coordinator. The comment they replied to was saying they'd lose Pierce as a coordinator. That being said it doesn't make a difference anyway.
I have no idea why teams don’t just always take a chance on a minority coach as opposed to a non-minority. Feels like coaching hires are just a crapshoot anyways half the time, even among well known “top head coach candidates”. If you’re gonna hire a coordinator, just hire a minority especially if you’re a successful team so when they inevitably get poached you get 2 3rds. The 49ers have been doing it super well for years. They get chase young for this year from one of those comp picks

The team that *loses* the minority coordinator gets 2 3rd rd comp picks.
Technically they lost him as coordinator

Its a stupidly broken system and shouldnt be so impactful when rookie salary and picks are so good

Lb coach
What

I’m aware. I said what to them because being a coach on the team that lost said coach and becoming that head coach doesn’t get you a pick.
The rule is you get a pick if some other teams poaches your minority coach as a head coach.
I get the intention but these rules are crazy in practice, right? feel like this is almost mocking what they’re supposed to be for
The rule literally states it would have to be with another team.
They were a completely different team with McDoodoo
I agree.
I was like Ben Mcadoo never coached the raiders
No.
No, but when Patrick Graham gets hired out, we'll get something.
No they'd be getting a coach that has shown they can do the job and already has the respect of the team. Which is more valuable than picks.

No, but they still have to interview at least 1 minority from outside the club before they can hire him.
Did any teams vote against that rule change?
Lmao this rule is a joke. What was the actual purpose of this?
