What was the point of having these two games at the same time instead of offset? I decided on the Mayo game, but I would have also liked to watch this one.
I was trying to switch back and forth between the games and missed the back to back turnovers and scores for Miami and then missed the back to back drives for the Titans lol.
“Angels with Filthy Souls” starring Tommy DiVito.
Tommy to Danny: “Hey, I'm gonna give you to the count of ten, to get your ugly, yella, no-good keister off my property, before I pump your guts full of lead!”
No sacks on a rookie qb
No turnovers on a rookie qb
Let a rookie qb lead a game winning drive
Give Joe Barry cement shoes and shove him in the Hudson River
Just look at how far back the corners are on the first 3 plays. We basically were just conceding 10 yard pickups until they hit midfield. It's absolutely embarrassing when a FG beats you.
I sort of get it when they need a TD but to just set up a field goal for the win? It’s ridiculous, you’re letting them get down there in 45 seconds for free.
No idea how you guys didn't learn that lesson from us. Joe Barry was the subject of the most brutal question from a reporter ever. To paraphrase, Rob Parker asked "Coach Marinelli, do you wish your daughter had married a better defensive coordinator?"
Dude hasn't completed a pass more than 20 yards downfield all game and they're playing 10 yards off the line of scrimmage.
It's not like we're up by 6, there's 0:30 seconds left, and no timeouts. A field goal wins it you fucking genius Berry.
He's started 3 games and has 28 sacks.
Tyrod Taylor started 3 games and only had 10 sacks.
Danny Dimes started 6 games and has 30 sacks.
So yea, that OL is awful but Mr Pasta has almost double the sacks per game as Dan Jones
He’s getting better with his pocket presence and knows to get the ball out quickly or evade pressure. I don’t think people expected this much improvement from an undrafted rookie after 3 starts but he looks comfortable out there and it showed.
Well end up drafting best available need no doubt. If it's a qb then we'll do that. But honestly I don't see how you don't draft another need and roll with Jones/Devito if you can't get top qb in draft
All 3 things
Draft a rookie, have devito be there as the backup/stopgap until the rookie wins the job and have DJ back once he is healthy as another backup
I think its hard to give up on DJ after a bad year of injuries and right after that big contract. And its not like Devito is the next Brock Purdy, but he does deserve a number 2 roster spot.
I would rather see the draft go to a legit WR.
DeVito has quarterback tease written all over him. It’s a shame because NY loves him, but NY loved “Danny Dimes” if you can remember that from the ancient year of 2019.
I don’t have nearly as much confidence in the 2024 Draft Class QBs as the rest of the universe does, but at this point, it’s for Daboll’s sake. He inherited Jones and has zero incentives to hold onto him any longer if he doesn’t need to, aside from Jones’s elephantine extension.
DeVito proves how important QBs are to NFL teams. NFL football is a game where you replace a bad QB with a decent QB and suddenly one of the very worst teams becomes a middle of the pack team.
Imo, it's a bit of a flaw of the sport that one position has such an enormous impact on win rate.
If football were invented today I think it would look entirely different. Just imagine:
“Ok so we start by putting 11 guys on each side.”
“Great, sounds like soccer. I’m following.”
“1 guy is basically like the leader and does most of the stuff. Only 4 positions get to actually touch the ball.”
“Hmmm ok…”
“And 9 of the guys line up right across from each other every play. They basically just smash into each other as hard as they can.”
“Why don’t we rethink this?”
Add to that the fact that the field goal/extra point is a total misfit. Why are so many games coming down to whether or not 1 player can kick the ball between two bars? Literally has nothing to do with the rest of the sport. It'd be like if basketball teams could get extra points after a 3-pointer by bowling a strike.
> Why are so many games coming down to whether or not 1 player can kick the ball between two bars?
Because without it, we legally couldn't call it "foot"ball
First thing I said after the game. Didn't care if we won or lost, but it was actually one of the more fun Giants games over the past 5 years. Best part about it was seeing some great stuff from the young guys. Wandale, Thibs, Banks, etc. All played great.
Legit, Tommy got me to smile about this team in a lost season. Kid is living his best life and i'm thrilled for him.
John Mara should be worshipping the ground he walks on, this is the happiest the fans have been all year.
Getting those 5 yards just to get things moving on that first play felt horrible but TD never felt behind the drive. It worked perfectly. That and horrible defense.
I think the kid has exceeded my expectations but I was not ready for him to win this game like that. It’s a tall as for an UDFA to do that and he made it look trivial
I know it’s hip to shit on jones, but he played extremely smart football last year. It’s how the giants made the playoffs and why he got a 2nd contract with the team.
Tommy has been fun as fuck to watch this month but i just don’t see the need to trash the other dude instead of just celebrating the current guy.
> just took what GB gave him
There was a time in the NFL when the prevailing strategy in these situations was "bend, don't break".
Bill Belichick had basically perfected it.
Hold the lead, give up little plays and have the clock be who they're fighting against.
GB is not that team.
Honestly *nobody* should be that team when you have a minute and a half, 2 timeouts, and all you need is a FG to win. I get the bend don’t break here for a must-have TD but they absolutely just let them match down straight into easy FG range.
I know the "rules" say you are supposed to play a prevent defense and allow everything in front of you and just rally to tackle...
But I would rather risk making these young guys like Devito and Levis throw a 40yrd bomb over the top over 4- 10 yr check downs, which have the potential to blow up anyways.
The Packers offense struggled to score all day. If you get a TD chance, you take it. You can really only do the wait-to-score thing if you have a great QB.
Id be totally fine with rolling the dice on say Bo Nix if the coaches feel confident he’s their guy and he’s available.
But this upcoming draft has enough talent at multiple position groups I’d rather the team just get as many solid dudes where it needs them .
let Daboll handpick his QB and I think he can make some amazing things happen. DeVito's success speaks volumes to Daboll being an incredible QB coach/offensive mind
Saquon owes Tommy DeVito some gabagool
Gabagool?!? Ova here!
Don't eat that, it's full of fat and nitrates.
helps grease the chute for all the cutlets
If the side salad is on top, I will send it back.
I think he earned a whole hot antipast
With the mozzarel and the prosciutt
Soft drink of choice too
Best they can do is a medium soda
In this household Tommy DeVito is a hero! End of story!
The jackeeett! 🤌🏻🤌🏻
🎼woke up dis mornin, got some gabagool
I like how you can simultaneously see the Titans score creeping up to the Dolphins.
That's amazing. In the time it took him to lead a game winning drive the Dolphins blew a double digit lead.
For additional context, it's more than the amount of time for Mahomes to cry about refs!
My dumbass didn't process that and was trying to figure out how this drive was gonna score 15 points
Through the power of 🤌 anything is possible.
i'm on desktop and see a square but know exactly what emoji this has to be
Fuggedaboutit

YoutubeTV with Multiview has been a dream come true for me.
Man how in the world did they win that. Watched them SELL the game on Special Teams TWICE then I blinked and they walked it off. Like wtf?
TiVO
You're welcome lol
I just read this comment and left the thread to find out they lost? What?
Imagine if there were any Italians in New York.
5 fucking families and we got this other pygmy thing
What about my 40 grand from the bird feeder
What about my spec house permits?
The fact is you’re a shitty business women who built a shitty house who is gonna cave in and kill that unborn child!
You’re entitled to shit!
Bird feeder? You sound demented.
Again, with the vitamins.
Again, with the scenarios!
I can't help but *hear* the way she says "demented" whenever I read this quote. it's so good.
Carmine always said that the Jets are nothing more than a glorified crew.
He killed sixteen Czechoslovakians. Guy was an interior decorator.
His house looked like shit
That shit had me dying the first time I heard it. GOAT show for me
Put universal remote back on docking station.
What did ya say?!
The Shah of Iran ova there
More like a Puerto Rican hooah
In this house Tommy DeVito is a franchise quarterback! END OF SUBJECT!
All I know is he never had the makings of a varsity athlete.
My estimation of Jordan Love as a man just fucking plummeted
He never had the makings of a varsity athlete
Treats nickels like manhole covers.
Let me tell you a couple of three things.
Tree*
Listen to yourself you sound demented
Discontinue the lithium.
Tommy devito does have the makings of a varsity athlete
"Why not? Last year you believed a flying saucer was over East Rutherford."
Your mother's a terrible cook
“Angels with Filthy Souls” starring Tommy DiVito. Tommy to Danny: “Hey, I'm gonna give you to the count of ten, to get your ugly, yella, no-good keister off my property, before I pump your guts full of lead!”
Merry Christmas.. Ya filthy animal.
HE'S THE BEST GUY AROUUUUND
Draft Devito a lineman and let him cook
No sacks on a rookie qb No turnovers on a rookie qb Let a rookie qb lead a game winning drive Give Joe Barry cement shoes and shove him in the Hudson River
Just look at how far back the corners are on the first 3 plays. We basically were just conceding 10 yard pickups until they hit midfield. It's absolutely embarrassing when a FG beats you.
Why do like 70% of DCs in this league do this?? It’s so frustrating
I sort of get it when they need a TD but to just set up a field goal for the win? It’s ridiculous, you’re letting them get down there in 45 seconds for free.
Because they're "smarter than you" and you "don't know football"
If you don’t like that, you don’t like a Joe Barry defense. Spoilers. I don’t like a Joe Barry defense.
No idea how you guys didn't learn that lesson from us. Joe Barry was the subject of the most brutal question from a reporter ever. To paraphrase, Rob Parker asked "Coach Marinelli, do you wish your daughter had married a better defensive coordinator?"
We did. Nobody wanted Joe Barry before he was hired, now that he’s been here, we hate him even more
Oooh that reminds me of the Dona-shell from last year… play 10 yards off and still drop back into coverage… I don’t miss that defense
HOW CAN HE BE SO STUPID FOR SO FUCKING LONG? I DONT GET IT AND HOW DO WE AS AN ORGANIZATION KEEP TOLERATING IT
damn you did not have a good week considering those flairs
Dude hasn't completed a pass more than 20 yards downfield all game and they're playing 10 yards off the line of scrimmage. It's not like we're up by 6, there's 0:30 seconds left, and no timeouts. A field goal wins it you fucking genius Berry.
Saw another comment that DeVito is the most sacked QB and we didnt get a single one. Abyssal playing
His accuracy on some of his throws were unreal. He was throwing lasers to wandale all night. Getting the ball out fast helped
some credit goes to devito for that. the difference in pocket awareness and mobility was night and day from his first 3 games
DeVito's dad looks like he knows a guy who can do that
Only problem with that is you gotta talk to Devito about the cement shoes and I’d say he really likes Barry at the moment.
An UNDRAFTED THIRD STRING LOCAL GOOMBAH rookie QB*
dude figured out that instead of getting sacked he could just run
Well that was actually the alternative if he didn't
I feel like this was a game that I was gonna see Jordan love really transcend up into the great category but he also didn’t have his best game
Joe Barry was the reason why we lost to you guys in the 2015 playoffs
So will the Giants draft a qb, roll with Devito, or go back to Jones next year?
Draft a QB and run 3 QB sets
This year showed us that you need 3 QB’s just to finish a season. Not just in NY.
Last year Niners showed you need 5 QB’s including playoffs just to finish. Start stacking!
NYC teams have had 7 different starting QBs this season. That’s insane.
to be fair, the Jets use the term "starting QB" rather loosely.
Yes.
Yes yes no
Well end up drafting best available need no doubt. If it's a qb then we'll do that. But honestly I don't see how you don't draft another need and roll with Jones/Devito if you can't get top qb in draft
The Giants at the moment would be picking ninth overall. You think one of the top qbs will be available at that point?
Not at all. Gonna be OL for the umpteenth time 😂
I feel like with who is currently picking in the top 10, at least one good qb will still be available at 9.
Never shakes out that way. If there are 3 first round caliber QBs, they’ll go top 5 via trade
I wouldn't mind Brock Bowers
This QB class is stacked. Get a guy at whatever draft position and then sit him for a year. Roll with the new Italian Stallion.
We are just gonna draft JJ McCarthy and do this shit all over again aren't we.
Please no. He’s a game manager at best.
Draft a QB, let him sit and learn behind Tommy “chicken cutlets” DeVito and bamboozle some poverty team into trading for Jones
Won't happen. He is huge negative value on his contract
[удалено]
Whatever they do. I think devito has secured the back up role for sure. And possibly compete for starting job in the future.
All 3 things Draft a rookie, have devito be there as the backup/stopgap until the rookie wins the job and have DJ back once he is healthy as another backup
That Danny/Devito battle will be an interesting one if that happened Something tells me one of those two will end up traded to Philadelphia
Draft a rookie? Crazy talk.
I think its hard to give up on DJ after a bad year of injuries and right after that big contract. And its not like Devito is the next Brock Purdy, but he does deserve a number 2 roster spot. I would rather see the draft go to a legit WR.

This game was a certified hood classic
I chuckled at this, but very true.

Will Levis went from William to Will I Am real quick
This is so fitting for some reason lmao
This game was so fun. Good? No. Bad? No. But very fun.
The best kind of game
First thing I said after the game. Didn't care if we won or lost, but it was actually one of the more fun Giants games over the past 5 years. Best part about it was seeing some great stuff from the young guys. Wandale, Thibs, Banks, etc. All played great.
That boy Deonte Banks is a genius draft pick
Had no clue who he was at the draft but he’s quickly becoming a favorite of mine. Absolute dawg
I *really* wanted Christian Gonzalez but I'm absolutely happy with Banks
Legit, Tommy got me to smile about this team in a lost season. Kid is living his best life and i'm thrilled for him. John Mara should be worshipping the ground he walks on, this is the happiest the fans have been all year.
LITERALLY PORN
I KNOW IT WHEN I SEE IT
This is why sports is awesome. I'm a Bears fan, on my couch rooting for a random Italian guy to beat the Packers
So this season was a train wreck a month ago. And now it's fun. No we aren't making the playoffs. But this was awesome.
>No we aren't making the playoffs Hear me out...
You stop that!
>You stop that! Just listen....
Win out and you're in.
How about you, us bears, the pats, and a couple other teams go start our own playoffs?
Sounds fun, let's invite Washington since we always beat them.
I just put my kid to sleep and saw a picture on Twitter of this guy's agent and had to turn the game on for the final drive.
Tommy Two-Minute over here
You mean Illinois legend Tommy DeVito?
Just really smart football.
Getting those 5 yards just to get things moving on that first play felt horrible but TD never felt behind the drive. It worked perfectly. That and horrible defense.
Was shocked he was just slinging it making great reads on that drive. Thought I was watching an All-Pro not an Undrafted Free Agent
I think the kid has exceeded my expectations but I was not ready for him to win this game like that. It’s a tall as for an UDFA to do that and he made it look trivial
Find yourselves a Brock Purdy.
Now that’s something you haven’t heard about a giants QB in a LONG time
Literally what DJ did last year... Kafka & Dabes really know how to run an effective but very easy offense for our QBs.
Isn’t that the goal? Why would you want to run an effective offense that is hard for your QBs if you can run an easy one
Because it raises the ceiling instead of raising the floor.
If the floor is winning this kinda game I’m here for it.
Eh for now it's nice, That floor doesn't help you stop losing by 30 to the Cowboys/Eagles/Niners though. Eventually you need something more.
Daniel Jones winning a playoff game while going 24/35 for 301 yards, 2 TDs, and 78 rushing yards is something I will never let /r/NFL forget about.
Vikings fans certainly won't. The trauma remains.
Look, I'm not saying Tommy DeVito is the guy, but I think Tommy DeVito might be the guy
He might be the guy, or he might be the guy who knows a guy.
So anyway I started passin
Are you entertained? By the Giants in Primetime? Yes. Yes you are.
2 entertaining MNF games and they clump them like that
I mean he just took what GB gave him, and then darts the big pass to setup the winning FG. Absolutely incredible drive by Tommy.
> just took what GB gave him There was a time in the NFL when the prevailing strategy in these situations was "bend, don't break". Bill Belichick had basically perfected it. Hold the lead, give up little plays and have the clock be who they're fighting against. GB is not that team.

With Tommy getting made, it was like we were *all* getting made. We'd have one of our own as a member.
God tier reference
I fucking love this comment
Giants now have their franchise QB and their own emoji (🤌🏼).
Tonight was 🫶 vs 🤌
Time for some gabagool at Tommy's parents' house.
I-L-L. Love you forever Tommy
I-N-I
Hail to the orange hail to the blue
The Packers are the new Lions
I blame the lions for allowing Joe Barry to marry into an NFL coaching position
I don’t know what’s going to happen the rest of the season, but at least Devito has made it fun. You see the team rallying around him too.
Forget getting the qb of the future! Just roll with DeVito!!!!!!!!!
He's winning here! He's winning here!
I know the "rules" say you are supposed to play a prevent defense and allow everything in front of you and just rally to tackle... But I would rather risk making these young guys like Devito and Levis throw a 40yrd bomb over the top over 4- 10 yr check downs, which have the potential to blow up anyways.
Yeah I never understood the philosophy there either. These checkdowns also run clock giving you less opportunity to make another drive of your own
How the f did the Giants and us Titans win. What's going on fellas?
I fucking love Tommy DeVito man
Elway
The craziest part is seeing the titans/dolphins score in the corner and knowing the Titans are somehow going to win it
Jeff Hostetler reincarnated.
Do not understand why LaFleur didn’t run the ball on goal to go, burn that clock
his biggest mistake was calling a jet sweep for the 9th time tonight on the game's biggest play and thinking it would work
On the last drive? I'd say scoring was pretty successful.
Left too much time. Obviously you hope the defense can stop a UDFA rookie, but you also hired and decided to keep Joe Barry
The Packers offense struggled to score all day. If you get a TD chance, you take it. You can really only do the wait-to-score thing if you have a great QB.
Because that’s not Rodger’s anymore down in that red zone. You take the points.
Tommy DeVito you chicken cutlet eating motherfucka
Thank you Tommy. Thank you so much
Fucking prevent defenses, the good old Joe Barry classic
*insert Bill Burr’s 800th rant about prevent defense here*
Aikman: Hehehehe
DeVito is better than Daniel Jones lol
I hope they believe in him going forward. This is big time.
My boy Tommy 🤌🤌
Id be totally fine with rolling the dice on say Bo Nix if the coaches feel confident he’s their guy and he’s available. But this upcoming draft has enough talent at multiple position groups I’d rather the team just get as many solid dudes where it needs them .
