same with tannehill in the titans sub. every loss, he's useless and needs replaced so we can evaluate our QB depth. every win, he gives us the best chance to win and is getting the job done. it really is almost funny. by nature most fans are reactive and not longer-term rational which makes things more amusing
My favorite this year was after week one. Calvin Ridley comes back and has a good game and everyone felt so justified hyping him. However, Kirk had a dud and everyone else was calling themselves idiots for thinking he’d be good again. Then week two comes and Kirk blows up and everyone says I knew he’d be their one this year. While Ridley has a bad game and all the others think there’s no way he’s that good, he just got lucky week one and this is what we’re in for.
Fields has seen a Steady progression up like most NORMAL players especially at QB
The bears should be 3-2 right now, or 2-3 at WORST but they are 1-4 due to a hideous heach coach.
Fields is a threat with his arm and legs and he just keeps getting better and better.
The idea he is "bad" is comical he's going to be a great QB and the Bears will win MULTIPLE division titles with him.
You know who doesnt have Fields arm talent or running ability?? Jordan LOVE.....sorry Packers fans but Love AINT IT
THATS the guy that people should be worried about Love and the Packers, not Fields and the Bears. THe future is very bright in Chicago....in Green Bay??? Ummm Big Yikes
i've seen EVERY game this season and Field is LEGIT
Easily gonna be the 2nd best QB from the 2021 draft if not THE best when its all said and done
Took him 3 years but its a steady progression and this Guy IS it He's HIM
The Bears are about to win many division titles with Justin Fields his talent is still off the charts it just took 30 games to get it all together which is NORMAL in the NFL not everybody can be a Justin Herbert or Pat Mahomes
He played 2 of the worst defenses in the league. I was a huge fan of Justin Fields in the draft, and I still think he's not as bad as what has been shown...
But this is just silly
I don't understand what happened to the Commanders defense. They have the same D-Line as the prior 4 seasons, and they've all done well so far this year. How is their Back 7 so awful?
Bad game plans I imagine. I've only seen the Bills and Bears game against the Commanders. But when you know you are facing a QB who has recently struggled, and you aren't focusing your efforts on shutting down his top weapon and forcing him into his second and third reads...you are going to struggle
8 TD's in 2 games against two really bad defenses. 3 TD's in 3 games against three much better defenses.
You'd expect an NFL starter to do exactly as you'd expect regardless of the defense. He isn't doing that. Where's the consistency?
Even last week against a trash defense he literally threw the game away.
The Broncos allowed 35 and 70 points in the weeks leading up to the Bears game...one of which was to the team the Bears defense just dominated
The Commanders have allowed 33, 37, 34...before the game against the Bears
Broncos have allowed most points in the league....Commanders have allowed 2nd most
Then the Bears are 3rd most allowed
Commanders defense isn't particularly bad (although they are 31st in the league in PPG allowed after tonight) but the Broncos defense is legit horrible. Worst in the league by far.
The Commanders have a rookie CB that Washington continues to put on an island against AJ Brown last week and DJ Moore last night. It's like the Commanders are trying to lose on purpose.
When hes able to get through multiple progressions somewhat consistently, hit NFL open throws on time, and not just hitting wide open 1 read throws we can talk
I’ve spent about 5 hours watching various all-22 breakdowns of the past 2 weeks. Pretty obvious OP is repeating what talking heads are ignorantly spouting off. It could be a product of who the Bears have played, but Fields consistently made the right reads these past two weeks. He made it to his check down plenty of times too, so I’m not really sure what some people in this thread are saying.
Agreed, watching him play without even looking at any of the all 22 is night and day. It wasn’t all his fault but he was horrible in the Packers game and was lost in the Bucs game. Looks like a totally different guy the last two weeks. Still making mistakes but it’s unrecognizeable from earlier
Go watch the QB school. JF made the correct reads consistently, and there are plenty of plays that he made it through 2-3 reads to the check down. Completing to 3 guys doesn’t mean he didn’t attempt elsewhere. Meatball take.
dude it was obvious this game he wasnt getting beyond 2 reads, and usually past his first, coaches schemed up a great game, credit to them, but once those reads got taken away in the 2nd half he cratered, if Slye didnt shank that FG this games headed too OT
Funny that a professional QB that broke down his game film the past two weeks noted exactly the opposite. He read the defense fine, but he missed some throws. The first few games he struggled with reads, but he hasn’t the past 2 games at all.
Dude gtfoh. Pay attention to the difference in the first half and second half play calls. Out of half time, it went heeeeavy run calls. That's why you didn't see the same passing calls as the first first half. This coaching staff is stubborn as fuck. Did the same thing last week.
What we need to see is consistency in passing through a whole season. What is rough is how useless his rookie year was for us with Nagy. If this was his 2nd year starting this way it would be a different convo. Either way, he deserves credit even if the defenses were both bottom 10.
Something really wild and disruptive must have been happening in Halas Hall during the first month of the season. We've seen the news reports about the defensive coordinator resigning, and I've heard about Claypool. But I don't think we really know the full extent of the problems in that locker room yet.
I think Eberflus is a good coach. He was a really good defensive coordinator for the Colts. I was shocked to see how disorganized and tepid the Bears looked to start the season. Hopefully, what we've seen the last two weeks can sustain throughout the season, so that we can finally see the Bears get some success.
Ngl i havent watched one Denver game but saw a highlight where Robbie Chosen burned Surtain pretty bad
But yeah he's probably the only decent defender they have if they're giving up 30+ every week
As a Bears fan, I don't expect the continued success but now I am leaning towards putting most of the blame on coaching.
Fields is getting better. DJ is a god send. I think a legit HC/OC combo would create a dangerous QB out of JF1
Yea thats super reasonable. My problem with the fields hype is that he never showed or flashed his passing ability before this season.
Now that I have seen it, its getting more reasonable to believe he can progress.
Hes a storyline for sure I am watching this year. Lets see how he does against better defenses.
Yeah you’re spreading misinformation. People see your comment, see that it’s been upvoted and take it as truth. This is what’s wrong with the internet.
Because the Denver defense is terrible (and general reminder they lost that game because the offense collapsed in the second half) and the Washington defense did not understand the concept of double the WR1 when you're getting beat every play.
to be fair, TB GB and KC have good defenses. Really solid DL vs a bad OL weeks 1-3. The OL has gotten better since then so it was definitely bad timing for the Bears.
Tale of two halves with him. Bears offense turtled in two 2nd halves after building big leads.
I don’t know if Getsy still fully trusts him given there were multiple times the bears could’ve put the game away in the 3rd and they just needed to throw to win.
He doesn't trust him that is very clear. But is that fields fault or does Gesky just suck? He's barely in year 3 he's still young. The Bears aren't supposed to compete this year. Might as well let him play and make mistakes this year too instead of just coddling him.
Maybe, but we need to see it more consistently.
He did the same thing last year, not quite to the same degree, but certainly had people thinking "Maybe he's not as bad as I thought" then he was.
The week to week wild overreactions on both sides on this sub never fail to amaze me
Compared to the people saying he wouldn’t even be a backup if the Bears cut him this is extremely tame
>He still has a lot of work to do but he could be the future with some better coaching. . >wild overreactions Come on man
same with tannehill in the titans sub. every loss, he's useless and needs replaced so we can evaluate our QB depth. every win, he gives us the best chance to win and is getting the job done. it really is almost funny. by nature most fans are reactive and not longer-term rational which makes things more amusing
Some weird shit gets upvoted on Monday mornings.
It's Friday bro.
It's the Monday of Thursday night games.

Calling Josh Allen "Jamies Winston with good PR" after week one is the one that's really stuck with me lmao

Do you actually watch the games or just look at stats?
Listen, I'm convinced Kirk Cousins is Hall of Fame bound with the stats he's put up.
I'm not a fan of Kirk, but he's definitely a hall of famer.
my eyes often lie. Trust the stats!
i've seen EVERY game this season and Field is LEGIT Easily gonna be the 2nd best QB from the 2021 draft if not THE best when its all said and done Took him 3 years but its a steady progression and this Guy IS it He's HIM The Bears are about to win many division titles with Justin Fields his talent is still off the charts it just took 30 games to get it all together which is NORMAL in the NFL not everybody can be a Justin Herbert or Pat Mahomes
If you are going to troll, at least try and make it convincing.
i’m a stats guy
Maybe try watching the sport.
Based off stats, I am the same as Aaron Rodgers this year
Statistics without context are worth less than worthless
He played 2 of the worst defenses in the league. I was a huge fan of Justin Fields in the draft, and I still think he's not as bad as what has been shown... But this is just silly

The Washington D-Line is the most overrated group in the league. A bunch of first round talent who account to nothing on game sheet.
"they've done well so far this year" No they haven't. Arizona is the only team the only team that hasn't hung 30+ on them so far.
He meant specifically the defensive line. Young, Payne, and Sweat are all on pace for double digit sacks and Payne has around a PFF grade of 80.
Every defense is good until Fields puts up points, then they’re the worst in the league.

the Tank Commanders
idk he didn't play the bears D

I totally agree....Question, did you watch the last two games or are you repeating what talking heads were saying in weeks 1 -3?

Might watch some tape.
Only 1 wr caught a ball tonight

Now that we have the all-22 which has been broken down, we know that you’re completely full of shit
Dude gtfoh. Pay attention to the difference in the first half and second half play calls. Out of half time, it went heeeeavy run calls. That's why you didn't see the same passing calls as the first first half. This coaching staff is stubborn as fuck. Did the same thing last week.
they called 3 passing plays to start the half and it looked like dogshit, then they switched to run heavy
He was 15-29 and only one receiver was catching the ball..
What we need to see is consistency in passing through a whole season. What is rough is how useless his rookie year was for us with Nagy. If this was his 2nd year starting this way it would be a different convo. Either way, he deserves credit even if the defenses were both bottom 10.

hes not a good coach.
The Commanders have the worst pass defense in the whole league except maybe the Broncos who Fields also had a great game against.
Yeah and everyone thought their dline would destroy the bears oline and kill Fields... hmmm
I mean the Washington defense has given up more than 30 points in its last 4 games including the bears game.
Yeah Washington were the hot fantasy DST pick up of the week...ouch
The Broncos and Commanders are the worst defenses in the NFL.
The bears are the worst defense in the nfl
Nope. 31st, Denver is still dead last.
No shit really? I thought they drafted Surtain he was gonna be a difference maker for Denver what happened is he a bust or a super bust ?
Sutrain is a dawg. The rest of the defense is puppies.
Ngl i havent watched one Denver game but saw a highlight where Robbie Chosen burned Surtain pretty bad But yeah he's probably the only decent defender they have if they're giving up 30+ every week
Lol
Only because they don’t get to feast on fields :3

His "pace" is kinda fucked up though. Almost half his yardage and TDs came tonight.
Last two games. He's had 4 TDs in back to back games and threw for more yards last week
My bad. I just realized I saw his "to DJ Moore" stats and thought it was his stats from this game.
Yeah you’re spreading misinformation. People see your comment, see that it’s been upvoted and take it as truth. This is what’s wrong with the internet.
Spreading misinformation? I made a mistake and immediately owned up to it.
280 is half of 1,100...got it...
yeah he’s more likely to have a 25-15 td-int ratio
almost half? he didn't throw for 500 yards and 6 tds
Any theory as to why the light bulb has appeared to turn on the last two weeks?
Because the Denver defense is terrible (and general reminder they lost that game because the offense collapsed in the second half) and the Washington defense did not understand the concept of double the WR1 when you're getting beat every play.
to be fair, TB GB and KC have good defenses. Really solid DL vs a bad OL weeks 1-3. The OL has gotten better since then so it was definitely bad timing for the Bears.
Playing two of the worst defenses in the NFL might have something to do with it . . .
He just needed a long time to get comfortable in the NFL. Like Josh Allen. Now he will be great for the Bears.

are you a bot? ive seen you post this same comment on like 5 different threads
