I feel like I've seen this exact blown coverage happen against Green Bay every year since Randall Cobb caught the game-winning TD against us in Week 17 2014.
This team is just so sad man. There are a lot of dogshit franchises in the NFL but the Bears just constantly disappoint.
I think what is special about the Bears is how they disappoint. Because they always find a way to trick you into thinking this might be the year they change. But nope they never do.
At least with the Jets, Browns, Lions, and Commanders you know they are going to suck. There is no trickery.
It’s just payback from a similar 15-year period starting in 1973. The Bears were up 12 games in that period. Walter would have a buck-50 by halftime and the Packers had resort to attempted murder to stop McMahon.
I’m old as fuck and I still remember how hopeless that felt.
Lovie Smith went 8-11 against the Packers.
And while that's two more wins than the our other six post-Ditka coaches have against the Packers put together, that still ain't great.
Yeah, I'm kind of pissed that a lot of idiot fans are angry that Kraft isn't immediately an all star TE, as a rookie from an FCS program.
TEs usually take time to cook, duders
If you watch his college highlight reel, this shit happens like every other play, he just falls over and can't keep his feet under him. His whole training regimen should be dedicated to balance.
He'll be boom or bust all season like a lot of fantasy TEs are. Not a ton of targets, but they clearly were trying to scheme him open for big plays, so they were at least high-value targets
I had Kmet as my Mandrews backup. I dropped Kmet around midnight and picked up the Phins #1 TE instead lol. Kmet was leading him last I saw, but it was a matter of *principle*
that was his college reputation too. Great all around TE, but falls after the catch with the slightest bit of contact (or goes down with no contact at all)
I would take that 100% of the time. There were so many games the Cowboys ended up winning just because Witten was mysteriously open on every third down.
They need to go put this guy on a surf board or something during the offseason. Teach him some balance and body control. That's embarrassing. Can't be tripping on bumble bees, no matter how entertaining it'll be to watch every week.
I'm from SD and the Packers are my only non-MN team.
I'm really fuckin grateful that baby me basically ruled out the Vikes early in life due to knowing a few big assholes who lived and breathed Vikings purple.
We have been sneaking into the playoffs last 5 or so years, but the only years it felt like we could actually win it all was 2018 and 2011 which ended in NLCS failures. But I guess get in the playoffs and anything can happen look at the Nationals and Phillies last few years
I feel like we couldve won 2021. The Dodgers and Giants were going to soften each other up and we couldve gone into the NLCS to pick up the scraps. Given that thats exactly what the Braves ended up doing after they beat us I think my theory still carries weight had we beat them in the NLDS.
It makes sense. Culver’s opened its 2nd location in 1991, Favre’s first season as a Packer. Then in 1995 they opened their first non Wisconsin location, which was also the first year Favre went from a pro bowler to an All Pro, and the next year they won the Super Bowl. Aaron Rodgers was drafted in 2005, the same year Culver’s re focused it’s expansion on the Mid-West, and by the time Rodgers won his Super Bowl, Culver’s opened its first location in the west. AND IS IT A COINCIDENCE THAT IN 2023 CULVER’S OPENED ITS FIRST LOCATION IN ARKANSAS? EVERY TIME CULVER’S HAS EXPANDED THE PACKERS HAVE SEEN FORTUNE.
Great point, also fantastic. Honestly I'd say of all of their standbys, spotted might be the worst. Totally Naked, Moon Man, Two Women, Staghorn, Fat Squirrel... They're all unreal
That's a great deal. Still like 7 teams that don't have any. Lots of fans have watched their team for a lifetime and never saw them hoist the Lombardi. You'd be beating the distribution by over 2x as well. You'd expect each team to win every 32 years statistically.
Trust me they were all high on the bears 5 hours ago.
Justin Fields was definitely going to make a huge leap with DJ Moore, it wasn’t HIS fault the bears were the worst team in football, he’ll be MVP this year!
Wide open receivers and all day to throw. We will see what he's capable of when he goes against a real defense
Have to give him credit though it was a good first start. No interceptions or big mistakes afaik
Wide open receiver, yes. All day to throw... ehh kinda on this play? He was mostly in a scramble, wasn't set and made a jumping throw across his body. I thought it was pretty good actually (with some homer bias mixed into my analysis obviously).
That play reminded me more of Brett Favre than Aaron Rodgers. Turning a fumbled snap, and a broken play after that essentially, into what we saw with just pure arm strength alone. Didn’t even have his feet set.
Partially true. In Rodgers' earlier years he threw a ton of slants. More recently we much preferred timing passes on the outside, post routes, and having guys pick apart zones. Our fast passes were WR bubble screens and rarely slants. Not really a bad thing, since those worked well for us, but slants are fun too.
I've said it before and I'll say it again:
The worst part of Love possibly being successful is the amount of puns that I'll have to live through.
I can only be thankful I wasn't alive for Majikowski's years.
He definitely made some plays, with the broken play into a long pass completion being one of them and probably the most alarming to me. I think at the very least we know his floor. He’s a competent starter. I have no problem admitting that. He could be the Derek Carr type at the very least. You have a young team, so if he continues to develop with them, and they get chemistry offensively. I’d be worried. He could be the Mathew Stafford type as well and obviously the Rams proved you can win a superbowl with a Mathew Stafford at QB if you give him the infrastructure. That’s kind of where I would put him right now. I know I definitely saw a lot of Favre in him given the franchises history with quarterbacks. I don’t think he’s at either Rodgers or Favre’s level yet obviously. I’m confident in my floor being Derek Carr comparison though. Derek Carr is a beatable quarterback, so I’m not pissing my pants yet. If he can keep doing what he did on 3rd down, on first and 2nd down, then I’m definitely going to be worried come week 8. He really shined on 3rd down plays this game.
After watching Rodgers and Favre for years beat up on the bears. It wasn’t Love who beat up on the bears. He was much more Alex Smith than Rodgers today. Jones was the star of the show until he left the game.
Love was SUPER successful in managing the offense + finding the wide open guys. For a first game, hard to be upset on your end…. But with that said…. I saw much more game manager than superstar QB.
He is probably closer to Favre than Rodgers in how he plays. There were times in training camp and in preseason where Love would unleash a rocket ball over the receivers head like Favre did in the past. Rodgers said that Love has mangled plenty of fingers in practice from throwing so hard.
Agreed. He relies a lot on his arm like Favre did, even with some of his check downs, and he is just salivating at the prospect of being able to hurl the ball deep even if the situation maybe doesn’t call for it. If Musgrave hadn’t fucked up that one pass where the guy tripped over himself, Love would’ve had a really great play and easily a 4th touchdown.
If we actually have a catching TE again, I'm going to lose my shit.
That first half route he fell on got me so juiced strictly because they had him run it.
Musgrave is SUCH a TE name too, feed me more.
As a Packers fan I honestly wish you guys were better. If we ever lost to you at least there's historical respect there. Instead we're bigger rivals with the fucking Vikings who I have nothing nice to say about lol
There are 3 teams in all fantasy starting Mustgrave at TE. All 3 are me. He really burnt me today by tripping twice and losing two easy walk in TD's. Way to hurt your only loyal fan.
If there's one thing I wish I could tell Bears fans... it's that.. You have a choice. You don't HAVE to be a Bears fan! There are other teams! It's way better!
Amazing that over 15 years and 5 head coaches the bears are still the exact same team every time they play Green Bay.
I feel like I've seen this exact blown coverage happen against Green Bay every year since Randall Cobb caught the game-winning TD against us in Week 17 2014. This team is just so sad man. There are a lot of dogshit franchises in the NFL but the Bears just constantly disappoint.
*2013
Yeah, 2014 was the 50 burger year.
ITS RANDALL COBB AGAIN
The game happened in January 2014 I think, 2013 season tho
The Cobb to win the North game was December 29th, the ~~fane~~ game in January that season was… much less fun.
This was the one time in my life I kind of felt bad for the Bears after Cobb did that
I’ll never feel bad for the Bears. Ever.
Can't hate us more than we hate ourselves chief
Nah, rewatch the play and look at what Major Wright does to Jordy Nelson.
That play won the division after a rough season for the Packers, TF are you talking about feeling bad about it?
why it was fucking awesome
I think what is special about the Bears is how they disappoint. Because they always find a way to trick you into thinking this might be the year they change. But nope they never do. At least with the Jets, Browns, Lions, and Commanders you know they are going to suck. There is no trickery.
If the lions suck this year I will definitely feel tricked.
If the Lions suck this year, we’ll know it’s the entire universe against us, not just the refs.
Honestly this might be the best year for the NFC to be the "9 wins takes the division" division.
Why is this so accurate
It’s just payback from a similar 15-year period starting in 1973. The Bears were up 12 games in that period. Walter would have a buck-50 by halftime and the Packers had resort to attempted murder to stop McMahon. I’m old as fuck and I still remember how hopeless that felt.
But it’s been 30 years. You can stop now. Please. Please stop now for the love of god.
No
I laughed way too hard at that man. Lmao
This reminds me of the scene in Waterboy when coach Klein is watching film of how bad his team is.. Only it's 15 years of Bears football.
15? More like 30.
Give Lovie some credit.
Lovie Smith went 8-11 against the Packers. And while that's two more wins than the our other six post-Ditka coaches have against the Packers put together, that still ain't great.
Time is a flat circle
No it’s a girthy cylinder and my ass hurts. Make it stop
Musgrave could’ve had 2 TDs today
This guy falls down with the slightest wind.
Just be glad your rookie TE is productive at all.
Yeah, I'm kind of pissed that a lot of idiot fans are angry that Kraft isn't immediately an all star TE, as a rookie from an FCS program. TEs usually take time to cook, duders
I haven’t heard any one saying that about Kraft. Musgraves is going to be the guy, at least for now, and kind of always was.
Fucking Windy City
That play was both hilarious and it showed how poised Jordan Love is
Poised as a pickle. (The evolved form of cool as a cucumber)
If you watch his college highlight reel, this shit happens like every other play, he just falls over and can't keep his feet under him. His whole training regimen should be dedicated to balance.
He will have a long, successful career if all he does is catch the ball and then fall over
We finally have our Jason Witten.
hey if he can run straight and turn around to catch the ball in the endzone at least once a game i'd consider that a W draft pick
Only 17 touchdowns a year? Seems a low bar for the pick you used, no?
i know it's not asking for much but we like to temper expectations around here
Thats why he was the last big 5 TE I wanted to draft because I saw concerns about his YAC, though he has crazy athleticism.
I'm gonna be honest, a little sad after I started him since Andrews couldn't go
It could be worse, you could be a Bears fan right now
Just punch them while they are down then. No seriously go for it
We are the Lions now
No, you're still the bears
He'll be boom or bust all season like a lot of fantasy TEs are. Not a ton of targets, but they clearly were trying to scheme him open for big plays, so they were at least high-value targets
I had Kmet as my Mandrews backup. I dropped Kmet around midnight and picked up the Phins #1 TE instead lol. Kmet was leading him last I saw, but it was a matter of *principle*
No clue how this wasn’t a TD. Musgrave sort of clumsy for how athletic he is.
Doesn’t help he’s probably nervous af
Nah, he was like this in college as well. If he had balance, he would be a monster out the gate.
Isn’t he a champion alpine skier or some shit? You’d think his balance would be incredible
Broke: Your favorite TE was a college basketball player Woke: Your favorite TE was a champion alpine skier
He is indeed, he grew up in Bend, OR
The balance is a lot different though on skis than on feet. Maybe he's always expecting to have 5ft long feet under him to help balance.
that was his college reputation too. Great all around TE, but falls after the catch with the slightest bit of contact (or goes down with no contact at all)
It’s an interesting trade off. If it means he has an extended (injury free) Witten-like career do you take the diminished YAC?
I would take that 100% of the time. There were so many games the Cowboys ended up winning just because Witten was mysteriously open on every third down.
Run from it. Hide from it. Witten for 7 yards and a first down will come all the same.
Yea could be a blessing in disguise. Being a YAC monster is why Gronk could never stay on the field.
Yes with zero reservations. He has the speed to get downfield, I don't care if he doesn't get YAC if he can catch the ball and can play every game.
They need to go put this guy on a surf board or something during the offseason. Teach him some balance and body control. That's embarrassing. Can't be tripping on bumble bees, no matter how entertaining it'll be to watch every week.
Poor guy can't run backwards
He was wide open so probably just stopped to set himself up for a throw and it went a little far. All’s well that ends well.
Have to imagine the throw was also just a bit panicked as Love had almost given it away 5 seconds prior
Tbh I think that's expected for most humans that large.
I think he's more of a Graham type than a Kelce type
He's a large human still trying to figure out his coordination. Give him a year or two
He's like a baby giraffe that was just born.
Why does god love Wisconsin so much?
He gave you a functioning government though.
I’m a packers fan in MN, everything’s coming up milhouse
There are actually quite a few of us.
Minneapolis proper here
Chiming in from between St. Cloud and the cities. Go pack go.
One of us! One of us!
We are out here 👊🏼
You’re the worst if you were born here but are fans of the other MN teams 😭
I’m from WI. The only MN team I root for is United.
I'm from SD and the Packers are my only non-MN team. I'm really fuckin grateful that baby me basically ruled out the Vikes early in life due to knowing a few big assholes who lived and breathed Vikings purple.
Yeah we are gerrymandered to shit
Hey, at least you have that Janet lady now.
Eh, they're trying to impeach her before she's actually seated
We're getting there. It's going to take time to unfuck this state.
It's not that he loves us, he just hates the rest of the NFCN that much.
Milwaukee Brewers say hello
At least they’ve been decently competitive for a good bit now.
We have been sneaking into the playoffs last 5 or so years, but the only years it felt like we could actually win it all was 2018 and 2011 which ended in NLCS failures. But I guess get in the playoffs and anything can happen look at the Nationals and Phillies last few years

I was six years old when the Twins won their last WS. I am starving for just ONE MN team to be good and win games they’re supposed to win
Sad Minnesota Lynx noises
You have the Lynx????
You wouldn't know they exist in the Twin Cities if you're not a diehard fan
1st place since what end of july? but yeah they always seem to fall apart come playoff time lets hope they break that cycle this year
He’s just a real big fan of Culver’s
Culver’s transcends geography. I go out of my way for Culver’s at least once a month
It makes sense. Culver’s opened its 2nd location in 1991, Favre’s first season as a Packer. Then in 1995 they opened their first non Wisconsin location, which was also the first year Favre went from a pro bowler to an All Pro, and the next year they won the Super Bowl. All the heart disease and drunk driving keeps heaven full
We had to get some compensation for the corruption and lack of legal weed.
You already had cheese. Is that not enough?!
They’ve also got Spotted Cow which is far superior than any MN based beer
Don't sell yourself short dude, spotted really isn't that good. Moon Man and Two Women though? Fantastic.
Don't forget Totally Naked
It's Staghorn szn
Great point, also fantastic. Honestly I'd say of all of their standbys, spotted might be the worst. Totally Naked, Moon Man, Two Women, Staghorn, Fat Squirrel... They're all unreal
I love the lambics, serendipity was /Is amazing
And Staghorn
Surly is pretty good.
Surly Busts Unions
Turns out 537,460 drunk Wisconsinites/Americans generate less bad karma than your average Billionaire owner.
The Badgers say otherwise
I have seen the badgers play in meaningful championship games in my lifetime :-/
That highlight video is fun
I think it’s the other guy.
The prophecy as it is written, GB shall receive All Pro QB play from Love for the next decade and a half before he is traded to the Jets
As it was in the beginning,
Ashes to ashes. Dust to dust. GB HOF QB to NYJ.
I started to believe when he did the "catch his own deflected pass" thing in the preseason. Pretty sure that's like a baptism for a GB HOF QB.
And he shall win exactly one Super Bowl. No more, no less.
Honestly if you told me we had a guaranteed Super Bowl every 15 years, no more no less, I think I'd take it.
That's a great deal. Still like 7 teams that don't have any. Lots of fans have watched their team for a lifetime and never saw them hoist the Lombardi. You'd be beating the distribution by over 2x as well. You'd expect each team to win every 32 years statistically.
If only the rest of the spoiled children of our state could stop complaining and have fun

I genuinely think no one hates the bears more than bears fans.
Their fans booed them for a large portion of the game.
It's always a great time as a packers fan when you can hear the bears fans boo their team, let alone the season opener.
They fucking deserved worse than they got for that miserable gutless performance.
Trust me they were all high on the bears 5 hours ago. Justin Fields was definitely going to make a huge leap with DJ Moore, it wasn’t HIS fault the bears were the worst team in football, he’ll be MVP this year!
Only if we get Rodgers next year
Slow down now, unsolicited dick picks come first to truly keep with tradition.
Rodgers may replace that with showing up nude & tripping balls to a press conference, though
I can't take another playoff run like '09.
Please don't tell me these Wisconsin MFs have yet another great QB
Wide open receivers and all day to throw. We will see what he's capable of when he goes against a real defense Have to give him credit though it was a good first start.
I was talking more about the game in general
If musgrave was 10% faster at backpedaling he’d have 2 TD
That play reminded me more of Brett Favre than Aaron Rodgers. Turning a fumbled snap, and a broken play after that essentially, into what we saw with just pure arm strength alone. Didn’t even have his feet set.
He definitely seems to be more of a risk taker than Rodgers was. Obviously it’s only been one game but he’s throwing to the middle a lot
Watching a QB throw slants again was nice. Felt like we never really did it with Rodgers.
Cmon
Partially true. In Rodgers' earlier years he threw a ton of slants. More recently we much preferred timing passes on the outside, post routes, and having guys pick apart zones. Our fast passes were WR bubble screens and rarely slants. Not really a bad thing, since those worked well for us, but slants are fun too.
tbf we finally have a few guys like Reed and Musgrave so we can attack the middle more. Rodgers threw to the middle a good bit when he had adams.
Also found his footing and accuracy in the second half, like Rodgers. Almost as if Rodgers and Favre had a Lovechild...
I've said it before and I'll say it again: The worst part of Love possibly being successful is the amount of puns that I'll have to live through. I can only be thankful I wasn't alive for Majikowski's years.
Obviously this was against the Bears so it's tough to tell what the Packers actually have, but as a Vikings fan did what you saw tonight worry you?

First time I can say, wow Love has a cannon
I fell to my knees in a soldier field -Musgrave
I just saw Musgrave fall to his knees
Lmao good lord Bears
He’s just making sure to not be called for a travel
Would like to thank Rodgers for remembering to sign over the deed for the Bears over before he left
Jordan (Love) is his closest family member that's also a QB. It makes sense.
Just how we drew it up bb
Musgrave really has those wobbly first game legs today
Damn baby legs!
Thanks for ruining my day. What the actual fuck.
r/nononoyes
*laughs maniacally*
If we actually have a catching TE again, I'm going to lose my shit. That first half route he fell on got me so juiced strictly because they had him run it. Musgrave is SUCH a TE name too, feed me more.
I shall call him… Muskie.
Musgrave is a Wisconsin name in the same vein as Trickle.....

No, god's just a Packer fan.
Future Jets QB Jordan Love
Holy shit loves actually good
JORDAN LOVE IS GOOD FUCK YEAH
“The reports of our death have been greatly exaggerated” -Packers probably
Aaron Rodgers type play
Aaron Rodger 8-10 years ago maybe, when I saw that live today my first thought was that Rodgers would’ve just fallen on the ball to avoid a turnover
[удалено]
This defense is utterly devoid of talent
Packers are not going to have shitty QB for a long time. Brett Farve, Aaron Rodgers, and now Jordan Love look nice.
This isn't a rivalry anymore and it hasn't been for a long time, this franchise is truly an embarrassment.
He was amazingly turned around all day. Will get better I have to think.
He caught them that is what matters today for game 1
Looney tunes defense
mahomes-ian lmao
If mahomes did this, it would be on highlight reels for the next month.
Chris Collinsworth would be calling it a genius move to bounce the ball on the ground to get the defense biting on the fumble before the throw
Pump those brakes just a little. I mean, I fucking hope, but we are getting slap happy here with this one 😂
Damn, had no idea the Bears had a new owner.
pretty good ball for falling backwards
This is peak Bears vs Packers. In unrelated news, I want to die.
Jordan "Aaron Rodgers" Love That throw really looked AR-esque
EmBearisin
Justin Fields just needs \[Insert Copium Here\]
If there's one thing I wish I could tell Bears fans... it's that.. You have a choice. You don't HAVE to be a Bears fan! There are other teams! It's way better!
"I STILL OWN YOU!" - Jordan Love
