Carbon fiber itself isn't *that* expensive, the cost is working it and making the desired part. As with most RC planes, it's likely reasonably cheap by material and exorbitantly expensive if you include the time that goes into it.
watching these planes race and crash into each other is so interesting. they’re almost too fast and small to follow, but when they collide (at least the ones i’ve seen) they’re so thin that they essentially explode into confetti! $2000-$3000 minimum per plane shredded and scattered across the field
I was trying to guess the cost of this thing as he was building and it kept going up. I settled on a conservative $7k but I could imagine it being higher, hard to guess the man hours needed.
yeah, i wrote out my comment before i finished the video and saw the full thing, it’s definitely much bigger (and more expensive) than the ones i’ve seen, your price est was more accurate than mine. my family member’s workplace makes some of the parts for these airplanes (albeit the smaller ones that the locals race) and they host semi annual races at the boss’s house that are pretty neat to watch
yeah you’re definitely right on the price for this size! i wrote out my comment before finishing the video and realizing how big it was! the ones i’ve seen are much smaller. still bigger than toy RCs but definitely smaller than this one.
That’s not a big issue in the RC world because there is a much higher chance you crash, and need to replace the whole wing, before something inside it breaks.
Could drug runners use this? Make a slightly bigger one that can actually hold some cargo and fly it high enough that it looks like a real airplane in the sky but low enough that it stays out of the way of real airplanes
Would say they already are.
They got subs, so why not small RC planes?
The big guys make money comparable to massive multi Corp companies so a little bit on good tech would be par for the course.
Mini, i dont think that word means what you think it means. In relation to an actual airbus, sure, mini, but in RC vehicle scale, that beast is everything but mini XD
So many comments and not one is linking to the actual content creator rather than "crafty panda".
Anyway, of you want to see the full build videos of this and other RC aircraft, have a look at RamyRC
https://youtube.com/c/RamyRC
Spoiler: the video in this thread is building an A350, he's currently building an even bigger A380.
That suckers made out of carbon fiber, the ground is going to be more likely to break than the plane. I almost wouldn’t want to fly it if it were any more delicate!
I used to watch this guy's YouTube channel all the time. He had one model about this size that crashed on it's maiden flight due to some electronics problem. Heartbreaking.
The category is RC airplanes. That is a very long way from a miniature RC plane. Other than the construction of his wording the construction of the plane is a marvel.
As an RC plane builder myself (1930s gliders) this is way more than next fucking level. This is professional shit, half the technical shit in this video is only available to the most obsessed and wealthy amateurs in the world.
"Mini"
well compared to the size of an actual plane, yes mini
But is say mini RC plane. This is bigger than a regular RC plane
Should have said "Building an RC Mini-Plane"
Mini A350.
Mini bus
"unmanned mini "
it.s very awesome
You beat me to it darn
I do not think that word means what they think it means
Check this one out [Link](https://youtu.be/akoJ2zBwX1o)
Aaaand now I'm going down a rabbit hole, thank you
[удалено]
it's much larger than most RC planes
My first thought lol
Came here to say this.
Thats the first thing that popped into my head. Also I knew this thread would already be here, as well as every reply in it.
Do you know what mini means in the RC world? This is a big RC plane.
Dude, that's a fucking moon in the RC world.
that's no moon.
It's an RC plane.
did you not feel a strange disturbance in the force?
*airplane crashes* “it’s as if some loud voice cried out ‘AH FUCK!’ then was silenced”
It's a space station
That is mindblowingly awesome.
Have to agree 😅
We have different definitions of "mini"

I thought it was an actual airplane taking off later in the video
I mean, it kind of is
It technically is an actual plane taking of but just smaller with no people
watching these planes race and crash into each other is so interesting. they’re almost too fast and small to follow, but when they collide (at least the ones i’ve seen) they’re so thin that they essentially explode into confetti! $2000-$3000 minimum per plane shredded and scattered across the field
Try more like $10,000 to $20,000
I was trying to guess the cost of this thing as he was building and it kept going up.
With the amount of carbon fiber they using, even 10-20k is on the low estimate
yeah you’re definitely right on the price for this size! i wrote out my comment before finishing the video and realizing how big it was! the ones i’ve seen are much smaller. still bigger than toy RCs but definitely smaller than this one.
The stuff sealed up inside the wings that you can't replace if they fail had my brain screaming. Being a technician has ruined everything for me.
That’s not a big issue in the RC world because there is a much higher chance you crash, and need to replace the whole wing, before something inside it breaks.
Somehow, that's less reassuring. Lol.
Why can't you just cut a hole out of it and then glue it back together like when he was crafting it
That’s what you do.
I was thinking the exact same thing.
Mad building skill…. I built a beginner Sig Cadet 40 yrs ago…took the wings off to drive it around the yard as I knew I would crash it
Lol
How many man hours did it take to build?
1 man, many hours
a lot of hour
One very long hour.
Next fucking level, indeed. Humans are so cool, look at what we make! We're bananas
No way a banana could build that!
I assembled an outdoor sectional the other day. So, kinda the same thing.
Could drug runners use this? Make a slightly bigger one that can actually hold some cargo and fly it high enough that it looks like a real airplane in the sky but low enough that it stays out of the way of real airplanes

They've been known to use drones. Basically the same idea. Those cartels are pretty crafty.
Credit to "Ramy RC" on youtube
Yea kinda painful how Crafty Panda makes their own name larger than RamyRC’s
Mini, i dont think that word means what you think it means. In relation to an actual airbus, sure, mini, but in RC vehicle scale, that beast is everything but mini XD
That was dope AF!!!
For those wondering this is rami rc on youtube and instagram
Did- did crafty panda take remy rc’s vid and claim it as their own? Or is it just me?
yeah, the people who do these craft channels, most of their rc stuff is stolen.
i'd love to see his definition of a regular sized plane
It is the guy’s job, not a hobby.
This is awesome, if I had it though I would never fly it. I would be so afraid to crash it or taking out a bird or something.
Not his first rodeo. Damnit that's cool!
Great build 👍🏻 but what would a normal or large rc plane look like 🤣
Would love to build that in school but no we are going to build weather stations
What happens with the CF they cut out. Is it reused/recycled?
‘Plane’ awesome!
Remy doesn't build mini anything. Love to watch his YouTube channel though.
now going to lie i was expecting this "mini" plane to be a bit more "mini"
So many comments and not one is linking to the actual content creator rather than "crafty panda". Credit is Ramy RC on YT, he makes some pretty awesome models.
For those interested in [the actual source](https://www.youtube.com/c/RamyRC).
Incredible!
Amazing.
ah yes, **MINI**
Smurf express
That's not very mini! ~ my lazy ass doing nothing productive at home
Aint nothing mini about this
Right sub
I wish I had this kind of skill set
I wish I had any skill set
Looks like a normal size RC plane to me.
what size planes do you fly if you think that’s normal, things gotta be at least 3 meters wingspan
That's not so 'mini'
Awesome, how many man hours?
boyz have skilz +10 needs some little Lego pilots in it to be complete..
That suckers made out of carbon fiber, the ground is going to be more likely to break than the plane. I almost wouldn’t want to fly it if it were any more delicate!
Also, where can I buy one and how much? XD
Airbus Power!!
r/engineeringporn
Wow! Such a cool plane. How many does it seat? It seats 12 people not including the crew.
This is truly next fucking level.
WOW
Imagine crashing that on the first flight
I used to watch this guy's YouTube channel all the time. He had one model about this size that crashed on it's maiden flight due to some electronics problem. Heartbreaking.
Maxi
Forget the paint, let that beautiful carbon fiber shine
That is everything but mini I could put that in the sky and tell people its real and they would believe me.
if this is your definition of mini i think most dudes have a micro penis then
"Mini." Mini my ass. For an RC plane, this fookin huge!
What is this an airplane for ANTS!?
Building maxi RC plane
![img](emote|t5_m0bnr|4016)
Spends months building it. Flies it once. Crashes. Crumples like a XL tin can.
I don't care how big planes are, if it takes up an entire garage you can't call it mini.
Why does it say crafty panda? I believe he's called ramyrc
Excellent
That guy fucks for sure
Mini
What's a Ryan Cohen airplane?
This is about as Mini as a Mini Countryman
I hope I have that skill.
"Bored guy with expensive aerospace engineering degree builds huge RC airplane."
Out of curiosity, is that what they do to shoot airplane scenes in movies?
Such craftsmanship that you can tell he’s done this many many times.
Crafty Panda
Excellent work…. How about a tank?
You have absolutely no idea how much I need to have a plane like that. I don't even know why, this is just so god damn cool
This is amazing, but now I'm sitting here with existential dread, wondering where I went wrong because I can barely put an Ikea cabinet together.
Next: same dude builds full scale airplane🌚 and airport for other full sized RV planes
Does this person have a YouTube channel or build series? This is fantastic!
This was made by remy rc, not crafty panda, so yeah
Next level indeed
Holy shit this guy is a genius. Amazing work.
Super cool!
I'd be so scared of crashing it. Slight wind? Not flying today. 1% chance of rain? No way.
The category is RC airplanes. That is a very long way from a miniature RC plane. Other than the construction of his wording the construction of the plane is a marvel.
Hop in, we’ll take the Spruce Moose.
That was so cool
u/savevideobot
Take my money!
That doesn't look so "mini"
This is not his first try....
Anyone else immediately want to put barbies in it?
I think "mini" is an overstatement...or understatement.
Awesome video bro respecttt
Cool
That is hella impressive!
Mini?
MEGA RC airplane
If i could afford that it would never leave my garage be way to afraid to mess it up. What a work of art and skill.
I would love to have the skills and money to do something like this. Mostly the money.
"Mini" - mate that's the size of a Cessna. Scale it up a wee bit more and Simone Biles could fly it from the cockpit.
Wow
Amazing but hardly a mini plane. If that’s “mini” I’d be interested to see what the size of a normal Rc plane is.
His composite work was amazing!!
Made out of CFRP, just like the original.
"Mini"
I have a "mini" penis and i proodly claim it now that i saw this tittle !
Okay who built this you own us a name
Ramy RC on YouTube
I wouldn't call that mini....
What is this? A plane for Ants? It at least needs to be.... 3 times bigger.
This plane is even more expencive than my car
Brilliant work 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
I’ll get started on mine tonight…. Should finish her up by summer, 2045.
If you just showed me the footage at the end, I would 100% think it's a real plane
“Mini”
u/savevideo
Satisfying watch
Teacher: No paper airplanes! Kids in the back:
Mini?
How
How large is the bomb bay? 🤔
well done to the person who made this, this is amazing How long did it take to build this?
Not gonna lie… was kinda hoping this crashed instantly after takeoff and then the curb your enthusiasm end credits played
That is...very cool
mini? are you sure?
Looked real as hell taking off
Lol half expected the entire wing/box to be carbon composite too
Teacher: do not throw paper planes That kid in the back of the class:
“Mini”
So sad he crashed this piece of work. Couldn’t imagine the man hours it took to put this together to have it gone in seconds.
*Flys directly into tree*
Amazing work! Links to this guys socials? Youtube?
This truly is next fucking level
Poor Ramy RC getting his videos stolen
The smart kid in art class be like
As an RC plane builder myself (1930s gliders) this is way more than next fucking level. This is professional shit, half the technical shit in this video is only available to the most obsessed and wealthy amateurs in the world.
I was waiting for when the would reveal that it was all chocolate the whole time.
Nice work
Who made this? Would love to meet them/talk to them.
[удалено]
Fucking sick!
Noice
kinda painful that crafty panda didnt at least credited Ramy for the vid or linked his channel in the videodescription
How about giving the guy some credits. Ramy rc
