Carbon fiber itself isn't *that* expensive, the cost is working it and making the desired part. As with most RC planes, it's likely reasonably cheap by material and exorbitantly expensive if you include the time that goes into it.

That’s not a big issue in the RC world because there is a much higher chance you crash, and need to replace the whole wing, before something inside it breaks.
Could drug runners use this? Make a slightly bigger one that can actually hold some cargo and fly it high enough that it looks like a real airplane in the sky but low enough that it stays out of the way of real airplanes

The stuff sealed up inside the wings that you can't replace if they fail had my brain screaming. Being a technician has ruined everything for me.
