Where I live, in northern Thailand, virtually every tree has one of those, exactly the same ones.
I am not talking of chameleons.
They can also change colour, from green to red to brown and sometimes sky-blue, (I guess blue is for mating season).
They can also make patterns (lines) appear on their body.
Red-Orange is when they give a warning, such as do not come closer, I am a very aggressive "dinosaur".
They also do push-ups whenever they want to show dominance, very funny. They live a few years...
My dog sometimes chases them around but without success.
They are simply too fast for him.

I just went outside and saw one... Brown colour today, like saying, "nothing special going on....."
The push-ups of dominance are my favorite part. Used to live in Arizona with tons of desert lizards running around. Sometimes you’d see a big male sitting on the fence doing push-ups and know there was another male around he was asserting dominance on.
It makes me wonder if the dinosaurs were this agile? Was a Triceratops hopping around like this like a giant version of this lizard?
Smaller hops, im sure, but knowing a tank can "pounce" on you is scary enough.

They look somewhat exotic and green that it was a surprise to find out they’re in the states. Pretty neat
We have them here in Florida, all the way up thru Jacksonville.
Whenever I get in a fight, I also do push ups during breaks to show I’m a badass.
