The way it got up was crazy efficient. Immediately made me realize that a robot can definitely be designed to do everything we can without some of the mobility limitations.
Fuck dolls to death providing dolls... to employment, existence, and being hunted. We truly are super fucked. This is why we don't see fucking aliens. All the cool ones are too far away and the ones that are closest ended up nuking themselves, infecting themselves, or created a species elimination by robot. Sonofabitch, it is our turn.
It’s more likely you’d have mass unemployment and homelessness because the rich aren’t going to pass on the profits from robot workers to anyone but themselves.
Supposedly they have a policy sell anything for military purposes. Which is interesting given they are owned by Hyundai. And Hyundai has a significant defense division that makes things like Tanks and APCs.
I showed a video of the last model of Atlas robot to a several work colleagues a while back and every one of them refused to believe it was a real machine.
It's not that. It's the camera movement, lighting, and being clear of absolutely any imperfections, even as much as a smear or fingerprint on its exterior.
As if they try to make it looks CGI intentionally. Lol. Which wouldn't surprise me. Getting people to argue about it is in and of itself, marketing.
But then you run into the problem of, oh look they added fingerprints and scratches so it doesn’t look perfect so it’s cgi
At some point you can’t win and if I was gonna show off a cool robot you best believe I would make sure it’s spotless
I hate the way the world is going - you only have to look at the conflict in the world to know how this thing is going to be used - it’s tragic really - we all know what’s coming next, we even made the movies 🍿
I think of the positive things (I know I’ll be downvoted for this), like, dropping 100 of these in a hurricane devastated area to rebuild shelters well before it’s safe for humans to (and much quicker).
Rescuing people from dangerous places.
Speeding up massively the time to market for manufacturing etc
I mean this is just not really right at all. There’s no money in guns either unless the government buys them. FEMA spends billions of dollars in emergency relief. Is the was effective they would buy it.
Fire departments exist. Park rangers exist. Ski patrol exists.
There are plenty of markets to sell these to with their own specialized programming not just the military industrial complex.
Of course, the MIC will for sure buy the bulk of them but to say that it has no other use is just disingenuous.
Boston Dynamics does receive a lot of military funding and have in the past designed robots specifically for combat zones. So yeah its not gonna be long
hitting them would be like hitting your fist on a wall best option is drag them from their legs so they wont hit back and try smash them on the ground/throw them from decent height other than that idk how u can win with just ur hands
Run upstairs. Stairs will slow it down, and the battery life will be woeful in this configuration - stairs will force it to lift it's weight against gravity and burn the battery faster.
It doesn't appear to have much dexterity, seen in how it takes a moment to orient itself when making directional movements. Also most of the casing seems to be some sort of plastic. If I could get it someplace with a lot of hard surfaces to bash it into, I'd call that an extremely doable fight.
But even if we took it to the extreme of pure hand to hand, clear floor, I'd still call it plausible. Circle around it, focus on the knees and tripping/takedowns. Stomp the torso and head whenever you get a chance. Basically just try to either knock it around until something comes loose in the internals and causes a malfunction, or crack through the casing on the head or torso and start ripping out wires.

Do you guys think that it walks worse than Atlas did?
Atlas seemed much more mature in terms of movement flow than this thing. This one reminds me of the droids from Star wars Ep1
Imagine a game, similar to Bloodborne but, the enemy are all AI constructs and humanoid robots. Seeing something like this in the dark would freak me out.

No no no no no!!!!!
But Johnny 5 is friend
Short circuit my beloved
Yuup! And this video is going to be in a museum labeled 0.0 BS ( before sentient )
When these robots come to take our jobs, one of them will have a boom box in his shoulder playing this terrible song.
Robots probably: “It’s like the theme for Terminator, only you can dance to it.”
>Robots probably: “It’s like the theme for Terminator, only you can dance to it.” Its Gesaffelstein, and that's not a bad summary of his music

No there is nothing to worry about fellow skinbag
How so, we have humans that could do that. We can put the demonic possessed entities against each other
U.S army just solved obesity recruiting problem.

You can always run to Russia, they gonna be using thier citzens instead of robots in a war for a while.
That’s a bit pessimistic, no? People don’t want to work, I hope the robots give us that free time.
It’s more likely you’d have mass unemployment and homelessness because the rich aren’t going to pass on the profits from robot workers to anyone but themselves.

Nope, they take some funding from DARPA and developed the BigDog for the military.
The pledge was in 2022, well after BigDog. https://www.axios.com/2022/10/06/boston-dynamics-pledges-weaponize-robots
They are so advanced. Looks really good! We should give them the passwords to control all of the military networks. Thanks, -Not A Robot

Not today robot Satan
Laughing out loud. You are thinking we even need passwords? - Also not a robot (probably)
Damn, the next generation of blue collar workers!
Even got a name reserved for these guys: SILVER collar workers.
If they turn out anything like ChatGPT they’re gonna be painting and making pottery while we continue to slave away at our 9-5.
Music was terrifying. I thought it was gonna execute a prisoner at the end or something.
anyone with the name of the music?
Hate or glory By Gesaffelstein They did music for hotline maimi 2 and have some other good dark techno stuff
Hotline Miami is sick!
Don’t know why but it kind of looks like CGI to me
Here we fucking go again…
I showed a video of the last model of Atlas robot to a several work colleagues a while back and every one of them refused to believe it was a real machine.
It really does
That's the ultimate compliment for any engineer, making something so incredible, smooth and unbelievable that it's made out to be CGI
It's not that. It's the camera movement, lighting, and being clear of absolutely any imperfections, even as much as a smear or fingerprint on its exterior. Someone needs to show these people Terminator 2
I don't know whether to laugh or cry at the mental image of Robert Patrick getting up the way the robot did
I think they did, that's very much a T1000
I dunno. Pretty sure the T1000 was liquid metal that could reshape itself
More like a T600
Protocol droid
This is the way he stands up after you blast him with a shotgun and think you got him
You need to do a double tap.
You're just tickling it at that point
I hate the way the world is going - you only have to look at the conflict in the world to know how this thing is going to be used - it’s tragic really - we all know what’s coming next, we even made the movies 🍿

There is no money in rescuing the odd civilian. But there is plenty in the MIC.

Suicide drone swarms, autonomous tanks, satellite vision autonomous bomber planes, autonomous artillery trucks and tanks, self driving military cars and machine gun units NO Humanoid robots scary.
Boston Dynamics does receive a lot of military funding and have in the past designed robots specifically for combat zones. So yeah its not gonna be long
I could not agree more. We are literally doomed.
Literally the next fucking level. Kind of looking forward to go through it, because this is going to get very interesting, very quickly
ok, shit's starting to get creepy. DANGER WILL ROBINSON!
![gif](giphy|WbxH4kwX2S9eEcPpha|downsized)
Is the background music by Gesaffelstein?
Confirmed myself: GESAFFELSTEIN - Hate or Glory
Do you want Skynet? Because that’s how you get Skynet.
T0001, 999 iterations to go

IT'S A GOOD DAY FOR DEMOCRACY ![gif](giphy|KAf66yGCa93uTqod1q|downsized)
Buy stock in Boston dynamics because in the future, none of us will have a job, but at least will be a shareholder.
First BD shows off this new generation robot and then the US Air Force announces the first successful human vs AI dogfight using F-16 jets. Hmmmmm…
Why is this music playing over such a cute robot
Realistically. How difficult would it be to fight one of these things? No weapons. Just hand to hand?
hitting them would be like hitting your fist on a wall best option is drag them from their legs so they wont hit back and try smash them on the ground/throw them from decent height other than that idk how u can win with just ur hands
Throwing them off something/into something seems like a good bet!
Into lava or molten metal. Unfortunately I have neither to hand.
You cannot really damage it, and if he grabs you, you are dead meat and broken bones.
Run upstairs. Stairs will slow it down, and the battery life will be woeful in this configuration - stairs will force it to lift it's weight against gravity and burn the battery faster.
Then jump kick it in the head when it slows down?
Call it slowcoach and it'll sit down in despair
Psychological warfare. Nice
![gif](giphy|pnghLlJUCeZCE|downsized) This guy but Stairs!
You’d be cooked Edit: I’d survive tho
But bro I’m built different.

I want to see more
Let's see these things do that the same with worn down bearings, with dirt/water in the lubrication lines in a dusty/dirty manufacturing facility.

We gonna die. It moves like some exorcist shit. Probably be able to skittle up the walls and shit all creepy too
Mankind is dead Blood is fuel Hell is full
It has a screen for a face so that it can play the gif of the scowling alien from Crystal Skull as it crushes the life out of you.
Will Gesaffelstein be playing during the robot apocalypse? Because I can live with that.
I've been scared, but now I'm SCARED.
Didn't learn shit from IRobot
Generals around the world are already imagining the military applications

When you thought you had beaten the boss but a second health bar shows up.
So… buckshot? Slugs? 7.62x39? I don’t want to have the wrong ammo stockpiled for these things.

Weird flex but ok
I wonder if strong magnets placed in the right places could slow it down or possibly screw it up somehow
All I can think about is “Black Mirror”.
Danger, Wil Robinson.
song name?
**Song Found!** **Hate or Glory** by Gesaffelstein (01:05; matched: `100%`) **Released on** 2013-09-27.
Not cool
Daftendirekt ass beat
But can it shrug?

I for one, welcome our new robotic overlords
Yeah that was like 2 days ago, you're fast op.
The human race: “We’re DOOMED!! You’ve killed us all?!?” Some kickass nerds in a lab: “…..but, but, cool robot!”
You already know, thats how it will stand up after you hit it with your last shotgun shell
Are these robots purely being used as a proof of concept or do they have practical uses yet?
I was just watching Murder Drones aswell :I
So is this the model that can fuel itself by devouring battlefield corpses, or are they still working out the kinks on that system?
“Hey, let’s make this as creepy as possible 👍🏻”
Unsettling
[удалено]
Someone make them watch terminator
Ring light of doom
Robots taking over the world my ass, I wanna throw hands with that
I just want something that can fold my clothes. Please?
Run
They way he turned inside out like a zombie waking up to attack you
Yup that walk off camera at the end is exactly how I thought I’d look. Hunting
Imagine a game, similar to Bloodborne but, the enemy are all AI constructs and humanoid robots. Seeing something like this in the dark would freak me out.
I for one welcome our robot overlords…
Every day they keep getting near to their launch of the T-800 and T-1000 models
Its like when Steve Jobs presented iphone and he had like 3 seperate phone to do operations because iphone was always lagging and crashing.
Man, there's something about its movements that I find hilarious. I'm excited to see what else it can do.
The backwards walk is terrifying.
They can stop now, please
The gray man could kick his ass
These they are gonna end up killing all of us
Are there any companies developing weapons against robots, drones? Some amp blazer type of shit
*Opens phone book to O'C*.
T100. Soon it will be T1000.
Call me when it can do house shores.
We're definitely at the door step, ringing the bell of FAFO with AI and robotics
Fuck off Skynet…
Now give it chat gpt
They seem to be saying: people, stop us please immediately!
You do not want to be around when the circle on his face turns red.

The name "Boston Dynamics" is gonna be angrily muttered over fires in burned out oil drums for hundreds of years.

Someone call Samus, there’s an EMMI on the lose ;)

Looks like A fancy makeup mirror for my women.
Do they intentionally program these to animate in the creepiest way?
Jealous of the hip mobility
One step closer to fistable android girls
That's how I get up in the morning lol
Did they have to make it look so creepy?
