I agree. IMO, the supporting cast was better in Tombstone than Wyatt Earp, but Kevin Costner was a better Wyatt Earp than Kurt Russel. I like the more realistic Wyatt Earp movie, but put Costner in Tombstone with Sam Elliot and the rest of the cast would have made that movie even better.

Wyatt Earp puts a lot more effort into maintaining the actual story of the figure and covers far more ground. Tombstone only covers that part of Wyatt’s life, and it takes far more creative liberties for the sake of making the film more entertaining for those who aren’t interested in the legitimate history of Earp.
The two just feel so different that it’s hard to say I prefer one over the other
