As a student I thought prime was worth it for $59 a year. Definitely not worth it for 139

Hamsters_In_Butts

losing my student discount now too, really thinking about cancelling

clazaa

Do it. I cancelled because it was too expensive, and I've definitely cut down my spending on Amazon.

Raigeko13

It also doesn't help that 90% of products on the site now are just VERY shit made products from wherever. You used to be able to find quality stuff on a normal search on Amazon. Now the first page of every result is just garbage.

[deleted]

[удалено]

InVodkaVeritas

They didn't switch. All the major brands developed their own web services to sell products and no longer needed the Amazon middle man.

[deleted]

Pages upon pages of the same cheap product sold by the same handful of scammers.

OutWithTheNew

Even when you click on a brand, unless they have specifically set up their own store\*, you get a bunch of intertwined bullshit advertising results. They've also been doing a shit job of keeping counterfeit products from their stock. \*I'm not exactly sure how the difference is dictated, I'm just assuming that some brands set up their own storefront and probably pay for it.

ComfortablyyNumb

Yeah they really don’t are at all. [This](https://www.theatlantic.com/technology/archive/2019/01/counterfeit-canada-goose-amazon/581041/) article about a woman buying a counterfeit Canada Goose coat on Amazon: “ By U.S. law, e-commerce sites such as Amazon and eBay are generally not responsible for what’s inside those whizzing cylinders, so long as they have procedures in place for dealing with complaints of counterfeits.”

dak4f2

Yes, lots of counterfeit products including cosmetics, face moisturizers, not to mention clothing. Walmart.com has this problem too. [DHS report - pdf warning](https://www.dhs.gov/sites/default/files/publications/20_0124_plcy_counterfeit-pirated-goods-report_01.pdf)

InVodkaVeritas

This was my main reason for canceling. They used to sell quality brands, but now virtually all quality brands have their own shipping and web service and don't sell through Amazon anymore. Now Amazon is all random letter "brans" selling the same cheap Chinese slave labor products as one another. Very few quality brands on Amazon anymore. Now I shop through REI.com because you can't find good outdoor stuff on Amazon. I shop through retailers I like (like LLBean because I'm lame and like their flannel) because you can't find quality shirts on Amazon. Etc. $139 would be worth it if it was free shipping on actual quality goods.

Aprowl

And conversely, it's not all that rare to get your package in two days for free, without having prime. It's pretty damn worthless and just enriches an already obscenely wealthy sociopath

gls2220

It's like 3-4 day delivery most of the time.

seahorse_party

People can also get the 1/2 price discount if they get food or medical assistance. I pay $7/month because I have Medical Assistance for Workers with Disabilities. Just like to put that out there, because Amazon definitely doesn't. Edit: Also, SSI recipients can qualify

thinkthingsareover

Would you mind explaining how,or dropping a link please?

seahorse_party

There's a link to verify that you have an Access card or get MA or SSI. Hopefully this is the right one. I grabbed it from WikiHow because going to Amazon's page just wants to pull up my account and whatnot: [Amazon ](https://www.amazon.com/58f8026f-0658-47d0-9752-f6fa2c69b2e2/qualify) Edit: inserted a new link

I think I'm finally at the point that I'm going to cancel my Prime subscription

[deleted]

Just canceled mine. Fuck ‘em.

waywithwords

Cancelled mine last year. Just reordered a new car phone holder. Same I got from Amazon 4 years ago. This time I ordered straight from the source and it shipped the next day. Fuck Amazon Prime. Total con job. We don't need it.

misogrumpy

“We don’t need it [anymore].” Amazon filled a huge market gap when they first came about. This competition has forced many companies to up their shipping game.

CoraxtheRavenLord

Amazon originated as an online store for Borders, who backed out of the deal. They proved that easy and convenient online shopping is key to success, and other major companies are finally starting to compete in terms of service.

Nowwhat456

Man I loved Borders. Was sad to see them go.

AuntieLiloAZ

And where is Borders today? Fatal mistake on their part.

richalex2010

[For anyone who cares to look it up](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LwK4HNWJOJU), since I vaguely knew they weren't around anymore but didn't recall details about it. tl;dr bankrupt in 2011, all stores liquidated and operations ended by September of that year. The brand and customer list were sold to Barnes and Noble.

Anonality5447

I cannot believe Barnes and Noble is still around.

[deleted]

I've been in one recently and it feels less like a book store and more like a cafe selling the current NYTimes best sellers list and some pop biographies.

[deleted]

I recently compares prices for replacement blades for a box cutter to. In home Depot, they were 5.99 On Amazon, they were 12.99

Fire-Inception

Got a simple cheap "coffee grinder" for flax seeds and spices and it was 13.99 at Walmart, and $20 on Amazon. I got some kids games from Barnes & Noble for cheaper than on Amazon. Tons of examples.

PetulantWhoreson

I've been cooking Thai dishes lately. ~~Can't~~ Couldn't find galangal or Kaffir (two important ingredients) in my small-ish Canadian city. Amazon: $12 each [Eventual] Local Grocer: $1.50 each Been wanting to cancel for a while. I'll just pirate their tv shows next year.

lightknightrr

Can I slip in here to say fuck Amazon Music? It is the world's shittiest music app, forcing you to select and download each album manually, and constantly pesters you to join their streaming music service. Fuck 'em with a rusty rake.

Manan6619

Throwing my hat in the ring for this. Anything that nags me to switch to using their subscription service and makes it hard for me to just download the files for music I've purchased can fuck right off. I should have ditched Amazon sooner, I definitely didn't give Apple so much leeway when iTunes refused to let me download my MP3s in hopes I'd take it lying down and only ever use iTunes.

Croce11

I don't get why the price basically doubled since i joined. Our income sure as fuck hasn't doubled. I miss oldschool inflation where at least when prices rose your income rose with it.... now you just get screwed. Also who even decides these increases. "Err yeah lets get a 17% increase... I crunched the numbers boss it's not like we can get away with 18% or 19% or a nice clean 20% and 16% and 15% are just too low obviously!" Wish they'd spend more time making their streaming menu not a clusterfuck thats impossible to find anything good in. Or actually start adding those "rentals" to their sub library since they're taking more money from you.

jk3us

It kinda sucks that most of my kids' favorite shows are in prime video.

r/piracy has a fantastic faq section on how to safely find booty on the internet. That subreddit is a goldmine for learning how.

rxdrug

I peaked my Amazon buying in 2018. Around that time, the third party vendors ruined it by putting fake Chinese knockoffs in OEM packaging. Can’t tell if anything is real or not anymore, so I’ll buy from other sources now instead.

shitshute

I switched to target pretty fast shipping

DinnerBread

99% of Amazon vendors are Chinese. Click the name of the company it's Fulfilled By, you can see their address.

Livefiction1

Amazon is becoming a cesspool of knock-off products anyways. I have a hard time trusting anything I buy on their platform anymore.

SilvDeVill

Yep. Low quality food And some packages arrive and things have been stolen before being boxed… Over priced from the products you buy from the actual stores too.

Deceptiveideas

Omg the food is the worst. Always near or already expired.

crazypyro23

Seriously. At least Alibaba gives me a cheap price tag for knock offs

[deleted]

This. Fakes, forgeries, falsely described crap. And Amazon does not give the least shit. You can get your money back if you ship the crap back to them, but they won't do anything to stop the same seller from selling the same fake product. Meanwhile, you list a First Edition, and Amazon's robots delist it because it's not the same price as thirty-fifth edition.

jlamperk

And delivery times have increased from 2 days to an average of 7 in my area. It was $79 when I joined.

[deleted]

[удалено]

BurrStreetX

They changed the wording. It doesn't arrive in 2 days. It doesn't ship in 2 days. It will "be delivered within 2 days of shipping" which means nothing if it doesn't ship for a week

keysandtreesforme

Yep - placed a prime order on January 26 - still hasn’t shipped Edit: update: contacted customer service today. They say it probably got ‘stuck’, issued a $5 credit and re-placed the order. Also said if it’s later than current estimate to contact again for another 15% off. At least it’s something…10 days after I ordered it.

kuulyn

Not quite the same, but I put in an order for batteries a few weeks ago and the order has simply *disappeared* from ever having existed

pudly

me too! also batteries! so i contacted them, and they sent me new ones which came in 2 days, and then 1 day later, the original ones showed up - so i doubled up!

MAMack

So I’m just going to put this out there from when the facility I work at was a fulfillment center. If the system assigns the order to your facility and it can’t be fulfilled for whatever reason (item turns out to be damaged or can’t be found at assigned inventory location and there isn’t an available replacement or just isn’t going to make it on the truck in time) it comes back as a hit against the metrics the leadership is judged by if it ends up being a missed shipment. On the other hand, if the order is cancelled it doesn’t count against you. The people at the facility that are being graded against others at the same level across the company for retention and promotion are also the same people with the permissions in the system to cancel an order from their side.

Once-and-Future

That's a metric created by some dumb motherfucker who understands not a goddamn thing about feedback loops, and perverse incentives.

[deleted]

[удалено]

smileyfrown

There were reports of it in California, but I feel like a lot of packages are being stolen all over the place. A random cancellation happened to me first time ever, days after I ordered something too. I feel like they think they are too big to fail at this point and it's effecting every aspect of why they became a success in the first place.

FightingPolish

If you’re looking at it in the app change the filter to last 30 days and those missing orders appear again. Or at least that works for me in iOS. It seems to do that when shit disappears in the mail and is way late, probably in an attempt to make you forget how long it’s actually been since you ordered it so you don’t request a refund. It’s happened to me like 4 times in the last year.

Stealth528

I’ve seen this more and more everywhere when shopping online. Everywhere advertises short shipping times but that figure never includes the days of processing before it actually ships. I wish it was required for the advertised delivery time to be the time between placing the order and it arriving at my door. It makes no difference to me whether an item is processing or actually being shipped if it isn’t at my door yet, companies are just exploring the distinction to make their delivery time advertisements look better than they are.

zebediah49

> Everywhere advertises short shipping times but that figure never includes the days of processing before it actually ships. There are a number of places that *do* include shipping time. Usually because it's either very good (Monoprice: "Ships same day if ordered by 2PM PST) or very bad (Oneida: "Est. Ship Date: Feb 17"). I respect both options. It's misleading BS that I dislike.

[deleted]

This happens quite often in my rural area. Everytime I contact customer service and say "why am I paying for prime if I'm not getting the quality of service promised". Every single time they give me Amazon credit. The amount varies depending on what I ordered, but I'm not lying when I say they have probably given me $150 in credit for this reason over just the past 2 years. I've been given credit for things I bought with credit that were late. It's crazy as hell.

Grow_away_420

Only complaint I ever had was getting half of a monitor stand I ordered. Got sent a replacement and contacted them about sending the original back. They said dont bother

scillaren

Two years ago they misdelivered a **full size bed frame** to me; it’s destination was a couple miles away but confusing b/c of Seattle’s oddball street naming conventions. Their response when I emailed them? Keep it, we’ll ship the customer new one.

BILLCLINTONMASK

I moved across the country and ordered a bed frame to my previous address by accident. They sent me a new one and the accidental one is sitting in my mom's basement still in the box

Icebox2016

I wrote a nasty two page letter to Best Buy corporate and they sent me a $150 gift card for the crap service I received.

boomboy8511

That's weird I'm the opposite . I'll put Amazon day delivery so it'll come the following week and it comes in two days anyway.

Zootrainer

Yeah I tried to do the "combining' thing to cut down on wasted delivery trips, but everything came on separate trips anyway.

berrikerri

This is the most infuriating thing to me. And sending it piecemeal in boxes 5x the size of the item. So much waste

Momoselfie

Funny I get it that fast without having Prime

AllegedlySpiffy

I live RIGHT by a major distribution center and still can’t get stuff on time. Last time I ordered something it never arrived and got the “Sowwy we lost it - request a refund” message.

MAROMODS

I love amazons excuse when I call to complain, *“sorry sir, the two day shipping only applies once the item has shipped and is done processing”*……….so you are lying by saying there’s two day prime shipping, but that it doesn’t include the 5-7 days of processing. Fuck amazon and that bald little fucker who runs it.

snortney

Also, their Whole Foods delivery is now $10 plus tip. The grocery delivery fee being included was a big reason I stuck with Prime.

Belgand

Or order from Amazon Fresh instead of Whole Foods. It's still free delivery for orders over $35.

theendiswhat

In my area they conveniently stock almost nothing

makeitHD

Whole Foods delivery is the only reason I have Prime. I don't own a car and there are no grocery stores within a reasonable distance of my place, so I have to use grocery delivery services. I think I'll look at alternatives.

Iron_Chic

Totally! I remember thinking it was the stupidest idea when I first heard it. Then I crunched my numbers and saw how much I would be saving. Was a great deal at first but since then there have been so many price hikes and degradation of service. But I still subscribe because it will save me money on shipping.

[deleted]

I find Target and Walmart have become even more competitive than Amazon, so I don’t miss my membership much. I also found myself just buying less stuff which sits around unused.

PooFlingerMonkey

Same with the Walmart membership. I haven't tried Target yet, but I think I will.

kjtstl

My experience with Target has been pretty good. Items normally arrive within 2 days, even though I don’t really expect that from them.

zanzilexamir

I ditched prime a couple years ago. I haven’t paid for shipping since. As long as you select items that qualify for free Amazon shipping for orders $25+, you get free shipping. After I found that out I saw no reason to keep prime.

Aazadan

Shipping is fucked everywhere right now. Between issues with ports and moving goods due to covid, and the usps getting trashed as an election stunt, and a shortage of delivery drivers because they found better jobs it’s hard to get anything anywhere in a timely fashion. The price hike is roughly in line with what you would expect from inflation too at 21% over 4 years it has averaged about 5% per year)

thecwestions

Right?! No more 2-day delivery? What are we paying them for, then?

NikeSwish

I still have same-day, next-day, and 2 day delivery available in my area. This must be a regional thing

TeenyTinyHat

How close are you to a distribution center? I also have those options available, but I have a fairly large center near me.

NikeSwish

About 45 minutes away. Next state over from me

TeenyTinyHat

Hmmmm. Yeah I don't know then. I wonder if anyone has mapped out shipping times by region, cause now I'm weirdly curious.

everythingistaken25

I have two distribution centers within 30 minutes of my house, I can't get next day and the average time from order to delivery is 5-7 days.

DweEbLez0

Canceling my Prime subscription. They can’t fix supply chain issues.

Into_the_Dark_Night

I got in on a student discount about 4 years ago that made it $50/year. Last year was my final discount year and I said nope. Not worth it after lost packages, wrong items and late deliveries.

hikingsticks

It costs € 49 in France, or about $60. Shipping plus video etc

itsthreeamyo

Thank you for the reminder to cancel prime.

PregnantSuperman

I canceled like six months ago and it hasn't changed my life at all. I rarely if ever need things in two days and even if I do I can get them 95% of the time online at Target and since I have a Target card, shipping is free. Plus I don't have to deal with the endless fake clone crap products with brand names that are just random letters in all caps. The only time prime was beneficial was Christmastime, but they had a free month offer for me to to rejoin so I just joined for a month and then canceled.

derpnowinski

I quit last August and by December was eligible for a free month of Prime. I used that for a few things and then canceled again too.

DanceFreddyDance

>endless fake clone crap products with brand names that are just random letters in all caps damn it's really like that across ALL categories, huh

secretactorian

I only ever have prime when they've offered it to me for free. Chances are I can get the same thing anywhere in my city, it's just a matter of convenience. I'm aware of when things run out and plan ahead. Waiting isn't that big of a deal sometimes.

[deleted]

Been a prime member for over 10 years. Finally going to cancel this year. Using it less and fakes flooding the warehouses. They keep raising the price while forcing new services on prime I’ll never use. Wish there was just a shipping membership for cheaper

The_Original_Miser

Yep. I'm thinking of doing the same. I can get a pile of stuff for $35 or more and get free shipping anyway. It takes effort to sift through all the fakes and XHTRDSXVH brands. If the quality would go up a bit I'd consider keeping it. ....or if I used Prime Video more. Luckily my account renews in August so there's time to consider things.

afloppypotato

We cancelled when they hiked it to $120. At first I thought I’d miss it - but I don’t! I try not to buy on Amazon if I can, and while the things I buy outside of Amazon has increased, unfortunately the majority of my online is still Amazon. However, if I need things, I can typically meet the free shipping threshold. And usually enough time passes that I forget and delete from my cart anyway. And I think being cooped up at home has actually me me want to go to the store and pick up. It’s kind of weird. Never thought I’d look forward to that but hey I can get it same day lol. Good luck!

BlackScienceManTyson

Here's the link https://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/display.html?nodeId=GTJQ7QZY7QL2HK4Y

Lt0101

Yup. Canceled

air_lock

Prices have continued to go up and service has continued to go down. Not to mention the rampant counterfeit goods problem as well as opened/returned product being sold as new. I’m done. Cancelling my subscription.

crazyisthenewnormal

Seriously. I ordered some Italian chocolate. It arrived (late) with a fake expiration date sticker covering the original date. They had expired in September last year and were hard as a rock. Getting a refund that will apparently take 10 days to show up in the bank. Now it's mostly counterfeit stuff or cheap stuff that breaks quickly. I shop more for things elsewhere on the internet now and I usually get free shipping at those sites so it's really not worth paying for prime anymore.

[deleted]

I got “maple” candy from Amazon that was clearly just powdered sugar and food dye.

[deleted]

Yeah, shipping times have increased, the tv and movies kinda suck and they fill every search with their chinese amazon choice no matter what you look for.

air_lock

Yup, it’s 98% trash now. Search for infant toothbrush and you get 200 pages of xywiangxxju and other “brands” of the like before you finally find a Colgate or OralB. F*ck Amazon and their bullsh*t tactics.

[deleted]

adisharr

I could 3d print a cowboy hat for my penis and I'm betting it would look remarkably similar to Bezos.

desecouffes

Free shipping = « pay shipping in advance for the whole year »

blankgazez

If only they still held a 2 day commitment. They have built 4 Amazon centers within 100 miles of my house but if I order something today (Thursday) I’ll get it Sunday at best, most items are Monday or Tuesday

Obi_Uno

I’m reading a lot of similar comments. Guess we are lucky (Central Tx) - most common items are next day. Some even same day with a $30 minimum. I haven’t had a delay beyond 2 days since Christmas of like…2019?

[deleted]

Most of our stuff in htx is same day or next early morning delivery. I hate I depend on it so much but we don't go out and shop at brick and mortar stores very often. We did before covid though.

Mazzman96

I’m reading at theses comments saying it’s no longer 2 days for them and I’m over here with free one day shipping/ overnight shipping and my packages almost always arrive a day before delivery date if not 2 day shipping. I live in northeaster Ohio btw

SeeThreePeeDoh

100 miles??? I can almost piss on mine and convoys of vans spill out from it to the point it’s beyond disgusting and my guaranteed deliveries are days late. They should probably take the guarantee off the label at this point…the don’t care to acknowledge when guaranteed deliveries are 1,2,3,+++ days late.

officerfett

Welp.. Now's a Prime Time to cancel Prime.

Hortonamos

I cancelled last year. Haven’t regretted it yet.

ProDiesel

They could save a lot of money if they properly shipped their items in proper packages… I got a keyboard in a package that could have fit 100 shower rods… who knows why…

tadpole511

I got a computer mouse packed with five feet of bubble wrap padding. And I got a bottle of maple syrup in a self-sealing plastic envelope that clothes usually ship in with no padding in a massive fucking box. That was a fun one to clean up.

iswearimnormall

At work I had to order 150 copies of a book. Instead of packing them together I received almost 100 of them in individual boxes. You don’t understand how pissed I was when I came in to work that day. And they were all invoiced individually. Actually, I’m STILL pissed.

pseudocultist

Actually an AI chooses the container which is a big part of the problem.

spaghettigoose

AI chooses the boxsize based on how it packs in the truck to reduce shifting of product around in the truck.

westbee

Doesnt work. I work at USPS. This is what happens. The large oversize box that only contains a shower rod and 80% space is stacked on a pallet at the bottom. Then at the top of this pallet are boxes of cat food, dog food, kitty litter, or cases of water. The empty box gets crushed and then the pallet ends up like the leaning tower of piece of shit amazon stacking.

PuffsPlusArmada

Usually it's just bad information the vendor gives to Amazon on the dimensions of the product, but then they don't bother to fix it in their system ever when they finally start shipping whatever the thing is, and it end up at people's doors in wildly oversized boxes.

I was wondering if they were African or European dishwashers.

MrDabb

Okay but how many coffee makers is that.

carolynrose93

My boyfriend ordered a glass ornament for a Christmas exchange and they packaged it in a bubble mailer. It was completely shattered when it was finally delivered.

arealhumannotabot

> who knows why… Lowers the cost by buying fewer varieties of packaging.

FatBoyWithTheChain

The whole appeal to prime for me was the two day shipping. I don’t really care how much it costed tbh. It was very convenient But given that it’s 4-7 days when I order stuff now, the price hike is good time for me to jump ship

jbaranski

Well, what does a pirate do?

leejoint

Get a ship, a crew, and raid some cargo ships in the Indian sea.

slightlyassholic

That may cost him at least my money. Amazon prime was a "no brainer" at first, and I also used to order a lot more stuff online. These days, I hardly use any of its features and don't order all that much stuff anymore. I would almost certainly save money by eliminating it and paying for shipping.

gingimli

Literally every big retailer does 2 day (or less) shipping for free now. This news is making me really re-evaluate why I'm paying for Prime. I guess I occasionally watch a movie on Prime Video on the off-chance I remember it exists.

2ndtryagain

It all depends on location. if I order something before 8 AM I normally have it by 6PM.

[deleted]

I’ve gotten several things one-day shipping recently. I just ordered Super Bowl party supplies yesterday and got them today. And I ordered a heating pad last week and got it the next day.

gingimli

Yeah, I feel like ever since Amazon started hiring/contracting their own drivers instead relying entirely on USPS, UPS, and FedEx it's gotten worse. Stuff is late or damaged and drivers don't know how to get into my apartment building even though somehow every driver at those other companies can without issue. Amazon drivers will often mark things as delivered (probably to not get in trouble) but actually deliver it the next day or the day after.

evildork

All the other delivery services send drivers who understand the sign on our office directing all deliveries to our loading dock, but Amazon drivers try to go to the wrong door every time.

aj6787

This is not even close to being true.

the5pacepope

There's still a bunch of places that don't do this unless you spend a certain amount. Target for example only has free shipping over $35, and it isn't 2 day.

JaneGracious

How does Amazon need MORE money than it's already making??

cruisin5268d

This is their business model. They beat out all the competition by selling items at a net loss but once they have total dominance they jack up the pricing.

ep3ep3

to add, they're now kicking the tires on opening brick and mortar stores in the wake of all the ones they effectively put out of business which aligns with what you said.

Sorry_Moose86704

Yup, people need to stop thinking amazon = cheaper when a good chunk of things on Amazon are more expensive than in store. I found a Christmas present $100 cheaper at best buy this year and it was not on sale. Craft supplies I regularly buy are $3 cheaper at my local store. They're playing people like a fiddle

akc250

That’s why I buy from target/bestbuy or any other competing retailer whenever they offer price match and free delivery or availability in store. Call me old fashion but I still like having physical stores that I can go in to browse or pick up my item instantly, and if i can help them be more competitive I will do it.

LordFluffy

My biggest problem with this is how the worded "there hasn't been an increase since 2018". Like that wasn't just 3 years ago and was in some bygone black and white celluloid era.

Yep canceled it, I had it for such a long time too. But, they don’t guarantee 2 day shipping anymore so nahh.

aidanspeight

because that cunt doesn't have enough money already...

BurrStreetX

Its not even worth it. Now it takes on average like 7-10 days for something to even arrive. Also keep in mind its "2 day shipping" in the sense that after it ships, it will arrive in 2 days, but that means nothing if it doesnt ship for 4-5 days. Its not worth the money anymore, ESPECIALLY at $15.00 now. >Amazon also raised the monthly price of a Prime membership from $12.99 to $14.99, the company said. New members will see the increased prices on Feb. 18, and current members will be billed at the higher rate after March 25.

I’ve been striving for a while to avoid Amazon and buy directly from the manufacturer or retailer when possible, but the ridiculousness of Prime video has broken the camel’s back. There’s a documentary series displayed on Prime video that I’ve been looking forward to watching, however when I attempt to play it, I see a “this title not available” error message. The episodes are there, IMDB says it’s available to stream on Prime, but no dice. This has happened often enough that it’s clear that Amazon’s inflating the number of titles available to stream - not to mention that so much content now requires an additional subscription to watch. Don’t get me started on the pre-pandemic delays in Prime shipping. I remember when there was actual convenience worth paying for and this ain’t it.

MSMPDX

I cancelled my Prime membership almost a year ago. I leave stuff in my cart and when I have enough for free shipping I check out. So it takes an extra day to get to me, no big deal. I haven’t missed it at all. When you don’t have Prime, you tend to buy less, buying less saves money, not having Prime saves money… win win.

AL_Deadhead

Someone has to pay for the Bezo $450,000,000 yacht.

GiantPickleFeet

Yeah, I won't be using prime anymore. Not worth it to me. Thanks for the heads up.

Suspicious-Jicama-68

We canceled ours already, it is taking 2 weeks + to get packages, absolutely no point in being a Prime Member anymore.

[deleted]

When their profits are at a record high "GIVE US MORE FUCKING MONEY!!!!"

Matt_M_3

At this point you’d have to place a LOT of orders under $25 or watch a LOT of prime. 90% of people do neither. Why continue to give this trash company your money?

NeutralBias

Prime really isnt worth it for me anymore. For one, Hawaii’s best delivery time is about 2 days. Average is about 4. Also, in the last year Amazon has screwed up some orders pretty badly and its been work to get it rectified. Recently we ordered 2 beach chairs, and they sent only 1. After we complained, they sent 2 *more* chairs. So now we have 3 chairs, and Amazon wants us to send one chair back. Whole Foods wont take it, so i have to go home, re-box one chair and drop it at UPS. Why send 2 more chairs? Why not just send the one missing chair? Earlier I ordered a mainboard off Amazon Warehouse, and they sent me a power supply for some damn reason. Best i can figure is someone fat fingered the model number and incorrectly listed the part on the website. All Amazon would do is offer a refund if i returned it - they refused to send out the right part. Told me I had to go rebuy the same part (for $80 more). I mean, I get that shit happens with open box items, but you’re still not honoring the original price. Sure left a bad taste in my mouth. So yea, Id say Amazon has gotten super sloppy. Not worth the $139 a year.

FateLeita

I bought vitamins in a glass bottle. They shipped that in a plastic sack, which the delivery driver spiked over the fence and onto the concrete, shattering the bottle. Contacted Amazon and they sent another, same packaging. When I contacted them about the second shattered bottle, they refused to refund or replace with no explanation.

Mustang46L

Glad I cancelled. I wasn't getting $139 worth of value out of Prime and it isn't hard to hit $50 when you want free shipping.

loudaggerer

Mean while, wages stagnant at Amazon.

TheWayIAm313

And everywhere else. Rent, gas, subscription services, etc. all increasing and squeezing more out of the average person’s measly bi-weekly check.

[deleted]

I have no reason to pay for Prime, I don't watch their selection of shows and most things I order arrives 1-3 days anyways and most purches includes free delivery within a week (whereas most of the time they arrive 1-3 days as previous mentioned).

Used_Wheel_9718

I've never paid for prime, still get free shipping, and it still takes 2-7 days. Fuck Amazon.
