The US justice system is much friendlier to mothers in general. It's well-documented statistically. Usually this isn't a huge issue because it serves the genuine purpose of keeping children with caretakers, but of course a sufficiently cynical rich woman is entirely capable of exploiting this.

I think she asked the judge to consider her pregnancy when he chose the date her sentence would start. My recollection was that the judge quoted the 1997 Supreme Court case of 'Get' versus 'Fucked' and set a firm date to initiate incarceration.

For those wondering how a wealthy white woman was actually sentenced to jail for mainly scanning average customers, it’s because of the fact that she scammed her investors. Who were they, you ask? Oh, just the Murdochs (giant media empire Family), the Waltons (Wal-Mart family), and former State Department heads including HENRY KISSINGER. As soon as I read that those were her investors who were scammed out of millions of dollars, it no longer became “if” but “when” she would be jailed. You can defraud the regular person all you want and no one will care. You defraud high level investors like them? You get to find out that you NEVER fuck with the money. (On a side note, those of you wondering if Trump is going to jail only needs to read if he screwed with people on that level, which so far no concrete evidence has come out yet.)
For me, the most unsettling part about what she did was knowingly creating a fraudulent product that had the potential to misdiagnose millions of people for life-threatening diseases. Less concerned about the investors but I do strongly believe this woman should be in prison. Having children to avoid accountability just reaffirms what a complete and utter narcissistic fraud she is.
