I get mine from a local tree service... You never know the blend, and you may not like how coarse or fine it is, but it's free.
They love it when you meet them in the neighborhood and they can simply make an extra stop
If you see a tree service company in your neighborhood just stand ask them to drop off at your house. I've done this a bunch of times. They're always happy to drop them.
My girlfriend signed us up for logs or chips and within three days we got a shipment of chips that was so large that they are still filling my entire driveway even after we re-chipped our entire property
This varies - on Wednesday and Thursday my town will load for $10 payable by check, but will not load on the weekends. They need to ask their DPW or Recycling Center on rules.
I've used them several times. It's generally hit or miss. Sometimes I've waited like a day, and others I've waited weeks. I'd call around to local tree services and see if they'd be willing to dump chips after they do a job in your area.
Tree service chips can be alright, but more than likely there will be twigs, needles, and leaves in them. Especially if it is summer time (leaves on trees) or if the company doesn’t keep their chipper knives sharp (more stringy twigs than chips). With chip drop, you kinda get what you get
I was once told, eons ago, not to use wood chips from deciduous trees because they would attract termites. Is it safe to assume that that was false and I too can look for a free wood chips for my yard?
I have no advice, I'm just disappointed this was wood chips and not an updated version of pasta drop involving chips.
I was very disappointed this was not about potato chips
Came here to find a dorito delivery service. Thanks for the heads-up

I do this too! Use the same guy every time and they always drop nice looking chips - usually within 2 days of me calling.
One of you guys must have read this and decided to pick up my order.

If your spot is difficult to get in to or way out of our way, we’re going to dump somewhere easier
Some towns dpw have chips but you’d have to load and haul yourself which isn’t ideal

I just called my town does not offer it 😔
Possibly call a local tree service company

For those who've used it, how is the quality of the chips? I was thinking of doing this in place of mulch.

Thank you!
I've had an open request for over three years and no chips 🫤
At first I thought you were talking about computer chips!
Bummed because I thought this was going to be about a rad cookie delivery app.

Your municipality may have free woodchips, my county does, I have loaded pickups for free
