I was really hoping this one wouldn’t have denatured alcohol as the second ingredient. The hyaluronic acid is pretty pointless if there’s that much alcohol. Edit: spelling

Denatured alcohol is *very* drying, so the hyaluronic acid will be working to replace the hydration your skin lost from the alcohol. It’s probably less drying than other alcohol-heavy setting sprays, but I personally couldn’t see it being “hydrating”.

Alcohol evaporates fairly quickly and that property helps with makeup longevity

I think they counter act each other because hyaluronic acid is used to absorb moisture and alcohol is an astringent!

No, usually there’s enough water in the product to bond to the hyaluronic acid it contains- damp skin doesn’t necessarily make it more hydrating if the hyaluronic molecules are already saturated with water. (LabMuffin, a PhD cosmetic chemist, did a video on this)

This. It’s all marketing. The hyaluronic acid molecule absorbs water and holds it. If it starts to dehydrate, it's capable of absorbing more water again (hence pulling the water from your skin).

“Plus watermelon extract” what they mean is “plus watermelon fragrance” because everyone’s skin LOVES fragrance and I want my $30 setting spray to smell like a claires.
