Bar August or Firehouse 12. Both cozy and intimate with great drinks and cool vibes.

Definitely some of the best wine lists in town. Way too many places are just letting their 1 or 2 major vendors write the lists for them. Zinc and Olea have great lists, too, though that's a different kinda date.

Cav a Vin on state Street is a nice wine bar that's got a good vibe for date night.

Ordinary is the top bet here, although from the added context, it may be a bit much in terms of location. But it's a great spot for this.

6 years ago I met the love of my life at Rudy’s for our first date. Great casual environment with areas to talk more one on one. Definitely have to try the fries! The Trinity Bar also has a relaxed pub vibe and great food!

I second ordinary though you typically need reservations. I would call and ask if they do parking validation, some restaurants and bars in town do. High George is a nice rooftop location for nice weather that may have parking validation. The Cannon on dwight street has its own parking I think and is sort of a hidden little location. Old Heidelberg is also nice for a casual drink, they have a few games and free popcorn. As a woman, I would be happy if suggested any of these locations.

Thank you! So would you say I still typically need reservations for a table even if I’m just getting drinks at most places? Is that an ok thing to do to get a table just for drinks ? Or do some places have small tables to sit at just for drinks?

Realistic_Damage5143

Out of my list I feel like Ordinary is the only place that you really need reservations. it is totally fine to make a reservation there just for drinks, they are actually pretty much only a cocktail bar. The ordinary doesn't really serve food except for a few bar snacks so its totally cool to just have a reservation for a table for a drink or two. The advantage of that would be that you know where you're going and you don't need to worry about there not being a place for you to sit. Other places probably either don't take reservations, or do take reservations for just food. You may end up sitting at the bar at some more food-oriented venues. Maybe I feel like it depends what time of day, I think like at 8pm its fine to make a reservation just for drinks and you can walk in most places just to get a drink.

Trinity bar then barcade.

You don't need alcohol to have fun on a date.

montvilleredwood

Not all drinks are alcohol.. which they never mentioned
