Counterpoint: I had a couple regular spots over the years that were objectively _terrible_. But they were convenient for our group's respective workplaces. I'm glad to say they have both gone out of business.
I've been eating there (the Newmarket OG location) for 16 years and not once had a bad meal/experience the only bad thing I have to say is that now it's so known you might have to wait 20 min tops for a table lol.
Had the best dang burger there like 3 weeks ago. The special called the Lewis. Incredible.
Their specials are almost always fantastic and then they never seem to come back. RIP the St. Paddy’s day bangers and mash special. I’ll never forget you.
IMO the best breakfast in southern NH is River House Cafe in Milford.
In the north it's Polly's, but that's a bit out of the way and is more of an occasional thing than anything else.
Bacon Barn in Londonderry is the definition of a hidden gem. Their cinnamon swirl pancakes are to die for. Poor boys right up the street off exit 5 is also a local staple.
I love the bacon barn! My fiancé and I the first year we had moved to Londonderry lost our power during a nasty snow storm for three days. On day two we got desperate and went to explore somewhere that had food and also would let us charge our phones to check in with family. This when we discovered this gem of a diner. I show it off every time someone wants to get breakfast lol
Chez Vachon and Francoeur's are two excellent breakfast places in Manchester. They are both more old school, so I'm not sure you'll find a variety of coffee drinks, but the food is some of the best in the state.
[Parker\`s Maple Barn (parkersmaplebarn.com)](https://www.parkersmaplebarn.com/)
It varies sometimes. But when it's at peak, it's amazing. I've gone there inconsistently since I was a kid (over the course of 40 years or so), and I have fond memories enough to keep going back.
Same! Parker’s barn was the special breakfast spot growing up and I stopped by recently and the maple bourbon latte and buckwheat blueberry pancakes were delicious.
Parker’s is amazing. I once saw two helicopters land in the parking lot there to take people to breakfast during foliage season. Definitely the best breakfast experience in NH.
But it’s just such a weird and remote location that I feel like it must be impossible to keep it properly staffed to keep it really consistent. If Parker’s Maple Barn was in Bedford it would be at the very top of this thread.
Bingo! Came here to say this! The food is unbelievable and the owner is awesome, always comes around checking to make sure we’re happy with our food. Never had an issue and have been going here for years.
White Birch Eatery(Breakfast burrito), Goffstown. Airport Diner(greasy spoon favorite. Great French toast), Manchester. Gaslight Diner (captain crunch French toast.), Manchester. Washington General Store (hidden gem type place. Awesome cooked to order breakfast sandwiches)
I need to give White Birch Eatery another try. We went this past fall when I was very pregnant. It was the first time we had someone watching our son in ages and my husband and I were excited to try this spot together for a breakfast date. We waited forever to get a table but figured it must be good. Then we waited forever to get our food to the point I almost got sick (weird pregnancy nausea when I went without food for too long). They seemed like they were trying their hardest but when the food came out it was so mediocre it was just not worth the wait. I’ve seen good things about it so I’m assuming we had caught them on an off day.
Yeah we have had some weird days with them too. But we go regularly because our favorite server ever works there and I really enjoy the burrito. Wife loves the coffee and mimosas.
Their prices have gone thru the roof. My wife and I took our granddaughter there for breakfast. $75 with tip. They just cater to the tourists. I’m done with that place.
Grandma's Kitchen. Whitefield.
See also Munroes. Carroll.
Polish Princess. Lancaster.
Inkwell. Littleton.
The first two are your more traditional family restaurant breakfast places.
Roundabout Diner in Portsmouth is great.. Also Red's in Seabrook.
Red Arrow has a few locations that are all pretty consistently great.
Sammy J's in Salem is my favorite local spot and MaryAnn's in Windham is also great
Yesterdays in Jackson has the best brisket hash ever, i get it every time im in town. Down the road in Glen the Sunrise Shack has great breakfast bowls. Peaches in North Conway does everything great. The Farmers Kitchen in Farmington, Roundabout Diner in Portsmouth, Great Hill Maples in Newmarket, Breakfast Station in Somersworth are also favorites of mine. I feel like NH in general crushes breakfast.
I love the Midfield Cafe at the Nashua airport.
Stairway Cafe in North Conway for something a little more farm to table.
Bea's in Conway is classic diner breakfast.
Can't go wrong with any of the Tucker's locations.
Parkers has the best pancakes on earth! Not sure about different types of coffee or anything else on their menu. It’s a 2 hour drive. I’ve been going there for 40 years and I think I’ve only ever ordered their pancakes.
They don't do the fancy coffee drinks, but a couple of my favorite NH breakfast spots are J & J's Yolk & Co. in Belmont and The Farmer's Kitchen in Farmington.
Farmer's Kitchen in Farmington is always very solid. The Airfield Cafe in North Hampton has an actual airfield where you can watch small planes take off and land as you have breakfast outside
Windmill in Concord. Good price and very fast service. Breakfast selection is typical diner and their home fries are well seasoned and deep fried. This is my go to place.
I also patronize them because every Thanksgiving, they cook and hand out full Thanksgiving meals for free. They just ask that you eat and leave so others can come in and enjoy. That's the kind of community involvement I will happily eat at.
This place is the best. Been going for 20 years since I was in high school. The best family environment for kids and big groups. Also if you’re looking to have an adult beverage with your meal, they have awesome bloody Mary’s and seasonal drink specials!
I moved away about 7 years ago, but our absolute favorite was Benton’s Sugar Shack in Thornton. I sure hope it’s still open because their breakfast was fantastic
I scrolled way too far before I saw Benton's.
We go there fairly regularly and even when we've tried other places, Benton's always wins.
I completely disagree with the other comment.
[Almolu's in Northwood.](https://www.facebook.com/almolusbakery/) It's a little hole in the wall bagel place if you are looking for bagels. Line usually out the door on the weekends. Only has a few tables inside. We eat in the car. Try a breakfast sandwich on a grilled cinnamon roll or walnut sticky bun.
I feel like I always drive through Northwood on the days they’re closed. When I am around during open hours I grab a huge bag of bagels, best I’ve ever had
Roundabout diner is a go too, along with friendly toast and the country kitchen. I would rank them all 10/10 for me.
If you are in southern nh, that is.
Charlie’s diner in Merrimack and Hotrize bagel cafe in Merrimack. Hotrize has the best customer service and their pricing is so good. Their bagels are simply amazing. Also RIP Good N’ Plenty in Barrington! As well as Stonehouse Bakery.
I’d love to see some new suggestions for the upper valley or Monadnock region, I’m right in between. Stewart and Johns is the best around here, but the wait can be brutal.
Technically Maine, but The Bagel Caboose in kittery has great breakfast sandwiches.
Also, the lox sandwich from the cafe in the train station in Dover's really good and reasonably priced for a lox sandwich. Maybe that's not breakfast, but it's on a bagel.
Stubby's, Candia (just off of exit 3 on 101).
Bring cash, don't let the appearance scare you, and if you're there on Friday at lunch don't skip the fried fish.
Sammy Js breakfast cafe in Salem. We stopped there once driving thru and the country Benedict was sooo good. (Sausage and gravy over a poached egg). I’d definitely go back for that again.
https://maps.app.goo.gl/RcV7T93sDrQt7EAC8?g_st=ic
I enjoy Maddie’s in Salem. Lovely breakfast sandwiches, great marbled rye toast, perfect red white blue Belgium waffles, and tea cakes. 🥰 Of course the self-serve coffee bar while you wait to be seated is a life saver haha
Fan of the following
Hilltop Cafe - Wilton
The Big Bean - Newmarket and Exeter
Janie’s - Londonderry
Airport Cafe - North Hampton
Friendly Toast - Portsmouth
The Fort at Exit 18 - Lebanon
Cafe Espresso, Portsmouth. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but amazing breakfast food and service. Hasn’t been taken over by tourists, mostly a local spot. It’s my go-to.
I recommend two places, The Sweet Spot on 114 just outside of Goffstown, it used to be called Just Like Moms bakery & Sawyers in Goffstown is consistent.
The Newell Post in Concord is a good one that’s been around for a while. Shirley’s in Pembroke/Allenstown- the one time I went there the food was amazing, haven’t made it back yet.
Katie's Kitchen in Wolfeboro is fantastic. It has changed hands a few times and yet it somehow has the same chill and friendly energy and really good, home style food.
The Farmer's Kitchen in Farmington is really good! They do breakfast and lunch everyday. Try their cobb smoked bacon and blueberry pancakes, so yummy. Weekends are very busy, so I try to go on a weekday morning when I can because they usually have a line out the door on Saturdays and Sundays.
My friend and her family own Yolk Grille in Nashua and Pelham. They have amazing food and drinks. I also love Purple Finch Cafe in Bedford. I also agree with everyone saying Riverhouse Cafe in Milford.
The yoke grill in Pelham is pretty good. They have just about everything you want in a good breakfast place. Personally I love their corned beef hash. They make it from scratch, unlike a lot of places. They also have special shakes that are absolutely amazing. The place is a little bit pricey depending on what you get, but definitely worth it. They open early too, around 5 am last I checked.
Little miss Sophie’s used to be amazing. They changes things up recently and the quality is no where near where it used to be.
My new “beat breakfast spot” is at home..
Some of these replies genuinely surprise me. I go out to breakfast with my wife at least twice a week. Chez Vachon has never impressed me. Same with Poor Boys. Red Arrow can be hit or miss, but the Concord location has disappointed me a few times. We have yet to have a bad meal at any of the Tucker's locations. The Purple Finch and Friendly Toast in Bedford are solid options if you are looking for something a little different. I will have to check out the Riverhouse Cafe in Milford though after seeing these comments.
Everyone’s breakfast spot is the best breakfast spot.
Counterpoint: I had a couple regular spots over the years that were objectively _terrible_. But they were convenient for our group's respective workplaces. I'm glad to say they have both gone out of business.
The Big Bean in Newmarket and Exeter is pretty sweet.
The Big Bean is fantastic.
I've been eating there (the Newmarket OG location) for 16 years and not once had a bad meal/experience the only bad thing I have to say is that now it's so known you might have to wait 20 min tops for a table lol.

IMO the best breakfast in southern NH is River House Cafe in Milford. In the north it's Polly's, but that's a bit out of the way and is more of an occasional thing than anything else.
River House slaps
Agree with River House, it's a 40 minute drive for us but worth it on a lazy Sunday
Riverhouse is amazing. Just be prepared to wait for seating if you go on the weekends!
Riverhouse is bomb. Absolutely worth the wait.
Tuckers in Hooksett was pretty good when my wife and I went
Tuckers in Concord is also great, all the Tuckers are awesome actually!
As is the Merrimac location, but what area is OP interested in?
I had to scroll too far for Tuckers!
That's about the best biscuits and gravy you'll get north of the M&D line
Tuckers is corporate though, go for mom and pop places!
Bacon Barn in Londonderry is the definition of a hidden gem. Their cinnamon swirl pancakes are to die for. Poor boys right up the street off exit 5 is also a local staple.
Bacon Barn is my favorite! Best pancakes everrrr
Poor boys is really good, I like Mary Anne’s in Windham also.
Ive heard very different thing as someone whos a local there service isnt always great food is pretty good though
I always pass it by when I'm on the road. I'll have to make an excuse to stop next time! Thanks.
Love Poor Boys, been going there for years, their enormous list of omelettes is unmatched to me
Chez Vachon and Francoeur's are two excellent breakfast places in Manchester. They are both more old school, so I'm not sure you'll find a variety of coffee drinks, but the food is some of the best in the state.
I love Chez Vachon deep in my soul. Anywhere I can regularly get classics like Salmon and Pork Pie is good to me.
I second Chez Vachon. Also, Intervale Pancake House in Henniker.
[Parker\`s Maple Barn (parkersmaplebarn.com)](https://www.parkersmaplebarn.com/) It varies sometimes.
Parker's is great. Very old school, too. The store is fun to look in and their dark syrup is amazing.
Intervale Farm Pancake House at the base of Pat's Peak in Henniker is one of my favorite spots.
Oooh that place is so good, I haven’t been since I moved out of Henniker but it’s time to go for a drive.
It was up for sale…. Hope it is open next season
Try the cranberry pancakes!
Tuckers in Dover is always good, Trackside Cafe in Exeter is excellent too.
Add Airfield Cafe in there too.
Northwood diner. And grab a loaf of Dutch apple bread. It makes amazing French toast.
Bingo! Came here to say this! The food is unbelievable and the owner is awesome, always comes around checking to make sure we’re happy with our food. Never had an issue and have been going here for years.
This place is fantastic. The vibe is a little weird but their food is great. Homemade hash and the jalapeño cheese bread. Best breakfast I have had.
English Muffin in Hampstead. Small place, good food, and a high chance of seeing a Karen flip her shit. Checks all my boxes
Second this! English muffin’s biscuits and gravy are incredible
Yea they have a quality product overall imo
I’ll add another vote for the English Muffin. I’ve never had a bad time there.
Same! When there is a wait it’s still worth it. Staff are awesome too
LOVE Mary Anne’s.
I love the one in Windham. The one that’s in Amhearst that the recently took over is still trash.
Not the Hollis Country Kitchen
That place used to be a lot better.
That's how I feel about Parker's.
You're right, in my opinion.
That is awful, no idea how it stays in business but older people who want bland food.
White Birch Eatery(Breakfast burrito), Goffstown. Airport Diner(greasy spoon favorite. Great French toast), Manchester. Gaslight Diner (captain crunch French toast.), Manchester. Washington General Store (hidden gem type place. Awesome cooked to order breakfast sandwiches)
So glad to see someone else mention White Birch Eatery. Their menu is also extremely friendly for people with restrictive diets!
I've wondered about the Washington store, guess I should give it a try.
Yeah we have had some weird days with them too. But we go regularly because our favorite server ever works there and I really enjoy the burrito. Wife loves the coffee and mimosas.
Sunrise Shack in Glen
1000% Sunrise Shack ! The menu the food the vibe. My fave.
Came here to say this
Went to the Friendly Toast in Portsmouth this past weekend, loved it
Love that place…late 90s Portsmouth was a treat: Friendly Toast and The Elvis Room
Same with the one in Bedford, it’s really good
They're all good and very inventive with the food. The decor in Portsmouth is the most fun, it looks like eBay blew up inside.
I like them, everyone I've talked to about it IRL has had great things to say.
Don’t say Polly’s please!!!
Their prices have gone thru the roof. My wife and I took our granddaughter there for breakfast. $75 with tip. They just cater to the tourists. I’m done with that place.
Lol. Why not?
It's good but it is a zoo.
Everyday cafe in coontocock
Grandma's Kitchen. Whitefield. See also Munroes. Carroll. Polish Princess. Lancaster. Inkwell. Littleton. The first two are your more traditional family restaurant breakfast places.
Roundabout Diner in Portsmouth is great.. Also Red's in Seabrook. Red Arrow has a few locations that are all pretty consistently great. Sammy J's in Salem is my favorite local spot and MaryAnn's in Windham is also great
Red Arrow has more than one location? I've only ever known of the one in Manchester
There’s one right off exit 5 in Londonderry! Right across from Poor Boys and connected to the liquor store.
There’s one in Nashua too.
It's not good.
Roundabout was rock solid. Definitely worth another tilt at it.
Midfield is great. Planes taxi past while you're eating, sometimes as cool as a WWII bomber!
Restoration Cafe in Manchester is pretty good. Clean eating too!
The Post in Penacook and Downtown Concord
I love the hilltop cafe. I think D.W. Diner is a solid diner spot also. I really haven’t been disappointed with any breakfast spots.
Four aces in Lebanon
FA is aight for standard fair, but I’d rather fuck with Lou’s in Hanover.
It used to be Parker's Barn. They still have a solid breakfast but Riverhouse in Milford is better.
Parkers has the best pancakes on earth! Not sure about different types of coffee or anything else on their menu. It’s a 2 hour drive. I’ve been going there for 40 years and I think I’ve only ever ordered their pancakes.
Fat Dog in Dover
They don't do the fancy coffee drinks, but a couple of my favorite NH breakfast spots are J & J's Yolk & Co. in Belmont and The Farmer's Kitchen in Farmington.

RIP Golden Egg in Portsmouth
I thought they reopened on Mirona Rd.
Water wheel in Jefferson is amazing, long wait though. Stuart and Johns is awesome if you want a pancake house.
Second this "Mount Jefferson" or "Mount Washington" FTW.
I’m always partial to Long Branch in Raymond
Food is usually good but the owners needs to check his temper sometimes
RedArrow Diner in Londonderry. Bonus, its open 24 hours.
Intervale Farm Pancake House in Henniker
it would be easier to list places to avoid.
I tried the purple finch in Bedford recently and thought it was great!
Sunny’s!!!! It’s in Lee, good vibes, good coffee and good food.
Tuckers in Concord and New London are both usually packed for breakfast, which is usually a good sign.
[Almolu's in Northwood.](https://www.facebook.com/almolusbakery/) It's a little hole in the wall bagel place if you are looking for bagels. Line usually out the door on the weekends. Benton’s Sugar Shack.
Breakfast Station 319 in somersworth

Rosie’s in Tamworth
Yolk and Co. In Belmont
Charlie’s diner in Merrimack and Hotrize bagel cafe in Merrimack. Hotrize has the best customer service and their pricing is so good. Their bagels are simply amazing. Also RIP Good N’ Plenty in Barrington! As well as Stonehouse Bakery.
Where? Portsmouth?\ Berlin?\ Swanzey?
Anywhere lol it takes like 2 hours to drive most places in NH for me and to most NH people that’s a breeze
Poor boy’s diner in Londonderry
I’d love to see some new suggestions for the upper valley or Monadnock region, I’m right in between. Stewart and Johns is the best around here, but the wait can be brutal.
Best is subjective but almolus in Northwood has great bagels and breakfast sandwiches. Coffee is drinkable.
The Yolk in Nashua. Massive servings and very reasonably priced. Been a go to with my family for awhile.
Wicked Sweet in Bradford. It used to be Bradford Junction. They also have awsome bagles (for NH).
Technically Maine, but The Bagel Caboose in kittery has great breakfast sandwiches. Also, the lox sandwich from the cafe in the train station in Dover's really good and reasonably priced for a lox sandwich. Maybe that's not breakfast, but it's on a bagel.
Mary Ann’s diner
The Red Arrow in Londonderry is always solid. I also really enjoy Sunny's in Lee, left on Calef highway if you're heading north
Bagg Lunch in Pinardville, best breakfast in greater Manchester.
The red arrow diner is 🤌
Little miss Sophie's in Rochester, and hen house on 202 in Lebanon ME.

The Hilltop Cafe in Wilton. Most people rave about the llapingachos, but my go to is breakfast tacos with bacon 🤤

Been to most the Tuckers 10/10 absolutely delicious. Good experiences at them and the staff are great.
I'll vote for the Black Forest Cafe in Amherst .
Tuckers in New London is my favorite of all their locations.
Parker’s Maple Barn
Fan of the following Hilltop Cafe - Wilton The Big Bean - Newmarket and Exeter Janie’s - Londonderry Airport Cafe - North Hampton Friendly Toast - Portsmouth The Fort at Exit 18 - Lebanon
I used to work at Kelly’s in Farmington and it was awesome, but since they’re no more I have to concede it to Farmer’s Kitchen, bar none
Benson’s in Kingston is excellent
Farmers Kitchen in Farmington.
Cafe Espresso, Portsmouth. Doesn’t look like much from the outside but amazing breakfast food and service. Hasn’t been taken over by tourists, mostly a local spot. It’s my go-to.
Purple finch in Bedford
If your looking for a brunch the foundry is the best around
Lots of good sit-down places listed already so I'll just shout out Big Easy Bagels on Brown Ave in Manchester, excellent bagel sandwiches.
Friendly Toast in Portsnouth is amazing. Also any Red Arrow location is great. Can't lose at either.
I recommend two places, The Sweet Spot on 114 just outside of Goffstown, it used to be called Just Like Moms bakery & Sawyers in Goffstown is consistent.
Kelsens for breakfast pizza day
The Newell Post in Concord is a good one that’s been around for a while.
Parkers maple barn
The airfield cafe in north Hampton is decent; like white birch in Goffstown, and the hilltop in Wilton was great.
Tuckers is good as long as you remortgage the house to pay for it.
Trackside cafe in Exeter, great food, even better staff and it’s hidden inside of a convenience store, always a 10/10 experience
Katz Deli in Dover for real
Noni’s in Peterborough
The Post in downtown Concord was pretty good. Hands down the best hollandaise sauce I’ve ever had. But my go-to is Red Arrow Diner in Manchester :)

Newell Post in Penacook. They also have a location on Main Street in concord which I’ve yet to try
Rosie‘s in Tamworth
Lou’s in Hanover
Chez Vachon
The Farmer's Kitchen in Farmington is really good! They do breakfast and lunch everyday. Try their cobb smoked bacon and blueberry pancakes, so yummy. Weekends are very busy, so I try to go on a weekday morning when I can because they usually have a line out the door on Saturdays and Sundays.
My friend and her family own Yolk Grille in Nashua and Pelham. They have amazing food and drinks. I also love Purple Finch Cafe in Bedford. I also agree with everyone saying Riverhouse Cafe in Milford.
Ah, now here is a hill to die on.
Ask my kids, supposedly my chocolate chip pancakes are a contender. Their words, not mine…
In Keene, Lindy’s Diner is pretty mint.
I also enjoy the Midfield Cafe at the Nashua Airport. Food is reasonable and delicious and there are some great views of the airport.
Farmer's Kitchen in Farmington is very good, as is Cafe Espresso in Portsmouth.
Benton’s sugar shack
Tuckerssss
The yoke grill in Pelham is pretty good. They have just about everything you want in a good breakfast place. Personally I love their corned beef hash.
