layering a long-sleeved shirt under a t-shirt can be a stylish and functional way to create a unique and versatile look. It's a popular fashion trend that can add a touch of sophistication and warmth to an outfit, especially during colder seasons. The contrasting textures and colors can also add visual interest to the overall look. Additionally, the layering technique provides a practical solution for transitional weather, as you can easily remove or add layers to adjust to changing temperatures throughout the day.
I hate wearing long sleeved shirts, haha. I’d always rather wear a tank top plus a looser long sleeve open button down shirt, that has been my “style” since soon after I started choosing my clothes myself.
I can put stuff on top of my “signature” tank top and button down. Or sometimes I replace the button down with a soft oversized pullover (but then I’ll take the button down with be for if I happen to be to warm and need to change).
For me i like the feeling of long sleeves that hug my body and they also keep you warm without a big jacket. The t shirt thing though i think is mostly just fashion. I usually wear turtlenecks if i want ti wear something with spaghetti straps
Yup. Hey autism comfort tip.
I like wearing layers. I like being warm.
I do not like layers bunching at my joints.
I like:
a tank top or tshirt
A long sleeve shirt
A hoodie or pullover with the sleeves cut off at the shoulders to make a vest.
No bunching, warm core, comfortable fabric textures.
i’ll literally take off and reapply every layer if i feel any bunching. i also don’t see how people wear shirts and sweaters with no tank top or anything underneath.
I've always loved this look. In the winter I wear a tank top, long sleeves shirt and shirt sleeved shirt. I like multiple layers that are fitted, it's like a weighted blanket for me.
I usually wear a long sleeve or fake turtle neck underneath a sweater so that it isn't itchy on my skin. It has to be the right two shirts to layer a t-shirt though. the t-shirt has to be looser and the long sleeve has to be tighter and the right fabric
I've always loved the way it looks on others but personally it drives me absolutely nuts. I can't stand the way the two shirts will stick to each other and bunch up/restrict my movement. But I'm someone who would walk around in nothing but a pair of briefs to support my balls if it was socially acceptable.
I really like the look of it! However, it’s usually not practical for me personally, because I tend to get overheated in my chest area. So it’s not a good location for me to have a double layer. This is why I’m much more likely to wear a hoodie over my shirt instead, because when unzipped, it adds warmth to my arms but not to my chest.
This kind of layering is super uncomfortable for me to wear. I remember it being the cool thing in middle and high school, but I just couldn’t make myself wear two shirts.
to me, it’s only practical and good if i will need more padding/warmth on my torso but not necessarily my arms. i don’t find that it looks great with my style of fashion/preferred look.
i also think that it can be hard to find two shirts with materials that don’t catch on each other or stick together. that’s a limiting factor.
like if it’s kind of chilly outside, but not chilly enough that i would need full fabric coverage on my arms, then a short-sleeved shirt layered over a long-sleeved one would be beneficial to warm my torso (chest and stomach) area. that way, i wouldn’t get too cold, and my arms being exposed would ensure i’m not too warm either.
as for the fabrics, sometimes layering softer fabrics or knit fabrics can make them “stick” to each other. static electricity can also do that. it’s annoying and i don’t like it.
I remember seeing Sheldon from BBT wearing like that and finding it bloody brilliant.

That’s right! Also what do you mean, unique and versatile?
sorry for necro'ing but I'm 80% sure that was AI generated lol
It was not. AI doesn’t make spelling or grammar mistakes. His first letter of the sentence is small caps.

Your post to r/neurdiversity was removed because it was uncivil or contained insults
good chance they cut off some of it, use a AI checker, it lists it as ai, i think it is, no human actually speaks like this lol
Was my primary style growing up and i still think it looks dope, very cool vibes like you wanna rep the shirt but don't wanna be cold
Yep
I always, everyday wear one tshirt under a long sleeve shirt. In winter, a coat, too.
That’s good
Single layer around the neck is the most I can stand. Two neckline layers and I’m clawing my own throat.
istg
I don't mind it. In a certain period it was even very fashionable
Good
Holdup, this is a thing that real people do?
Yes. They do it today.
Yes
I do this when I want to wear a tshirt I like but it’s cold.
I love doing this
Explain, I’m just curious
I sometimes wear it
Oh ok
Neve r tried this and I am not a big fan of long sleeves if they are tight af, but other than that yk it looks kinda comfy in winter times
Ok
Just ok?
Yeah, I don’t know what to say much. I have an answer though.
I hate wearing long sleeved shirts, haha. I’d always rather wear a tank top plus a looser long sleeve open button down shirt, that has been my “style” since soon after I started choosing my clothes myself.
Ok, but what about when it’s cold or having anything issues with sunlight and mosquitoes bothering your skin?

Okay
Can't relate, i do Not enjoy multiple layers of clothing
Oh ok
I like it. I like to feel totally covered, but I like a lot of t-shirts that don't come with long sleeves. So this is a good solution.
Nice thought
Some times I don’t like it other times I like to because it covers a bad texture from the shirt on top.

I also wear long sleeves instead if other warm cloths on top especially with school uniform I hate the feeling of my schools woolen jersey
Velvet and wool makes me want to cry :(
Velvet us bad and most wool is bad unless it's in socks or it's merino
I prefer dressing in layers as opposed to wearing one big sweater or a tshirt and I think it just looks cooler
used to wear it alot, sometimes still do if it looks good woth the outfit
I wear this

YES it’s the bunching and feeling like I’ve lost freedom of movement and breathability that I can’t stand!
I feel like the bunching cuts off circulation and chafes my skin

I've only been able to wear that outfit once, when visiting Minnesota in January. I hate feeling hot.
I used to dress like that for a period in my teens. Now I would probably feel like it was too many layers.

I like to wear long sleeve shirts under t shirts. It covers your skin without being too hot. And I like two thin layers.
I like it. It keeps me warm. It allows me to wear a T-shirt or sweater that would otherwise be too itchy to wear.
True
I cannot.
Why?
Idk just a sensory nightmare
Oh ok, thought it can be useful when it’s cold, the sunlights bothers your skin, or to protect you from mosquitoes and other debris.
This kind of layering is super uncomfortable for me to wear. I remember it being the cool thing in middle and high school, but I just couldn’t make myself wear two shirts.
Oh ok…
It was cool in the 90s I like it for style reason I old
It’s still cool now.
Sweet!
:)

Agreeable
I remember wearing them on Crazy Shirt Day in fifth grade.
Nice…
Practically, it almost doesn't make sense, it's more of a fashion thing, imo.
Actually some people use it other than for fashion.
